Here's a warning for anyone mining at TRIGEEK's pool: karma.hashstrike.com He and his buddy Jdubz are a couple of real asshats. They'll mine this for a day or 2 to create some confidence in the pool and then BAM, they're gone.
They were running http://str.scryptminers.net/index.php for a couple days, on Thursday night the pool stopped reporting blocks, Friday morning they "fixed" it. Then Friday night it happens again, only this time it was never fixed.
We continue mining anyway, assuming that they would fix it again. The pool got up to 6 million shares before we all stopped mining there. I personally had 500,000 shares; which in Starcoin is quite a bit of coins. I'm not gonna do the math on this but I'm guessing that there were well over 500,000 coins in the blocks when everyone stopped using the pool. We waited for it to be fixed or to hear back from TRIGEEK. But never did.

Lo and behold I wake up this morning and login to see if maybe they had it up again. NOPE!!! They moved onto karmacoin apparently. And now they have a bunch of new suckers to plug away until they decide to stop reporting your coins. If you don't believe it just follow the link to what was the starcoin pool and tell me what you see http://str.scryptminers.net/index.php. Exactly. Scammers.

Here's the screenshots I took last night.

The Bitcoin software, network, and concept is called "Bitcoin" with a capitalized "B". Bitcoin currency units are called "bitcoins" with a lowercase "b" -- this is often abbreviated BTC.

IT DOES NOT NEED TO BE PREMINED WHEN IT CAN BE INSTAMINED BY THE DEV AND HIS FARM BEFORE ANYONE ELSE GETS ON THE COIN FOOL

I was there too and there certainly wasn't any farm at launch, even with a single GPU I got my share the first hour, diff stayed low for much longer time than any altcoin launched in the US evening(s)
but yeah please accuse me of being part of the imaginary scam too while we're on it...  Roll Eyes

Scammer.

yeah it gets really ridiculous   Cheesy

got those solo (till 8 am / minus  pool auto payout at the top) with my single Sapphire 7950

quite a crappy performance in terms of "scam" if you ask me, and quite a normal one for every single guy who was there at the start. I wish I could get that on cryptos lauched @ US evening hours  Grin
since then, got another 2 million @ hashstrike, all good.

Waiting for coinmarket or similar to join the party now  Tongue

@cryptohunter

I get what you're saying, many new coins are too favorable for early adopters. However, there must be some extra reward for early adopters! The coins mined from the start is worth absolutely nothing. They get a market value as the devs and community create a demand by offering services, promotion etc. What's wrong with rewarding the people doing the initial hard work?

Again, I agree that some coins are too rewarding for these people! I'm not going to analyze whether that's the case with Karma. I mine because I like the concept, I think reddit might like this one.

Low diff is reward enough, low diff + high block reward is a open to scams by devs and early mining farms in league with the dev.

So this coin is NOT as bad as other scams like leaf etc but still on every low diff high reward coin there must be scam warnings.

Besides , the reward is nothing reserved to instaminers here, it was launched 8 hours ago and we're still at first reward stage/block 2232 (out of 10000)
it'll probably take more than a day to see reward starting to decrease Wink

from new sucker to old sucker : there's only one guy who can reply, everyone else including me is in this thread for Karmacoin, not Starcoin.
Sorry for his str problems, but as long as we're getting our KARMs, we're happy. just put low automatic payouts if you"re anxious,
or use another pool (the official one will probably get above 50% before tonight at this rate...) Smiley

it's not like there isn't any choice even if the original topic isn't up to date :

I start to miss a few words from the OP or developers too... like plans, what's under construction and so on.

Please wake up, and shake this community up.
