I dont really know how Arne Slot is gonna hold his position as head coach/manager of Liverpool i mean is by far one of the worst season of the club in a while and after spending a ton of money in players which clearly wasnt at the height of the club and the circunstances, is sad because he manage to lift the Premier League last year but right now i can only see him sacked after the season ends.

The board still has too much faith in Arne Slot's plans so he's being kept on until the end of the season... things could change after the league is over, and I think Slotgan will be fired.

Isak and Wirtz are the worst expensive purchases.

Obviously both parties have agreed to leave one of them including Salah, so indeed he will leave for free even though there is still one more year of contract with Liverpool... 100 million was wasted last season.

Salah's departure is probably a good sign. Parting with legends is almost never a pleasant experience, which is another matter entirely. But the fact that they were able to take such a step shows they have the resolve, and perhaps it will finally be directed at Slot.
With Slot having already caused incredible damage (and he still faces the prospect of depriving Liverpool of the Champions League next year) his departure will be a positive for everyone.

However, we as football fans can perhaps understand that we take the positive side of Salah's departure from the Liverpool club.
We know that Mohamed Salah, while joining Liverpool, has done his best and helped the Liverpool team to win the Premier League and also the Champions League. In the world of football, coming and going is a common thing. Even though Salah's departure did not receive definite information and it also surprised many parties, of course we only view this as positive, of course everyone hopes that without Mohamed Salah in the future, Liverpool can improve and become an idol throughout history.

The fallout with Anal Slut was the beginning of the end for Salah, I knew it would all come down to " sack me or sell Salah" no way both were ever going to work. Salah's recent game appearances were a market plan to attract possible buyers, but Salah's form was not helping.  no way both of them were ever going to work; different views on football.

Compensating him for the remaining 12 months and asking him to leave for free to pocket singing bonus is a " deserved farewell" enough imo.

I mean Isak's long injury didn't have any impact that when he was still fit, I know Jota is a reliable player but I think Liverpool can get up instead of continuing to look back... ahh I think manageman is too happy with the slot.

The whole Salah saga was done terribly imo - he was a 100m+ player that should have been sold a season or 2 ago.
This is just a terrible end to a terribly led process - a guy Saudi clubs would surely pay millions for will be allowed to walk out without a fee.

We don't owe anything to Salah - he was paid extremely well for all he did. Not happy with this decision at all - but I wasn't happy with any that were made regarding him recently.

Terrible season for me as a Liverpool fan but if I can take one thing from this season then Spurs getting relegated would be fantastic. I sound like a hater but if another set of fans can have a worse time than us then it would give me a little smile

You have to be a real fan to stay around from the time not so long ago when we had the best strikers in the league and were in Champions League final to,,, losing 3-0 to Nottingham

If maybe the contract renewal saga had not been dragged up publicly as it was last season he would have been sold after that stellar season, the club gets a decent amount from him and he would have left on a high as Champion of England. A much better story than it will be this time. Still a stellar career, the end is only a small part of it.

Is not like fans have a choice. You follow your team to the Sunday league if that is where they end up.

Look at Man Utd, they sacked Amorim and saved their season. Not sacking Slot when we had time to save the season could cost us CL football which would be huge neglect at board level.

It is a stellar career however you look at it.

Other thing is visible here though - Liverpool has no experience in dealing with big names.
We saw it with Owen, then partially with Gerrard, then with Coutinho, Suarez, Trent, now Salah. Some of those were sold for huge money, but most went for the fraction of the value. Gerrard had a change of heart in last seconds.

Owen - golden boot, could be sold when he initially rejected to sign the contract extension.
Trent - could have been sold a year earlier for 70 mil.
Salah - could have gone for 100+ mil.

All of this shows that Liverpool knows hw to handle the Milners of this world but when it comes to tough decisions regarding key players, more often than not a wrong decision is being made.

This is a problem on the board level and shows that, although our results have been good, there are still parts of the picture in which a 'small club' mentality can be seen. Don't get me wrong, Liverpool is the biggest club in England, but that 'small club' mantra is partially there - and it's quite a shame that it is.
It stems from the fact that Liverpool didn't really have stars in their teams, most of the success came from different types of teams, so Liverpool treats their stars too kindly in fear of losing them. That needs to stop as soon as possible.

I will call it a 'traditional club' mentality not a small one. Smaller clubs are usually specialists in treating prospects like piggy banks and will never leave money on the table.

Liverpool look like they will rather negotiate with the player as a person, legend, local lad depending on the situation, so they will naturally back them only talking of selling if the players want to leave, which is where I think they get it wrong. Once you sense the energy around a player leaning towards leaving the club you start making arrangements for that to get the best deal.

This mentality also shows up a bit in how the club buys players, something I still feel they were trying to move away from this last summer window which has not worked out so well.

We don't owe anything to Salah - he was paid extremely well for all he did. Not happy with this decision at all - but I wasn't happy with any that were made regarding him recently.

Let's look at the brighter side for some seconds; not selling him when they had the chance gave you a PL title last season - I'll choose that over 100m profits for the club.

Now, let's talk about the current situation - whose idea was to let him leave for free when they could have waited a little longer to get some offers maybe 50-50m? That's the part I still don't understand, it's not adding up.

Slot is not good but Liverpool have many problems with injuries, that also affected their results a lot.
They can still try to save the season if they win against Manchester City in FA Cup, but they are underdogs.
Despite everything I am really surprised they are still hanging in Champions League.

Ask me again end of season,,, I might be supporting Championship for first time in my life!

You got a solid point there tbh. You guys basically won nothing much so yeah being at the bottom of the league wont really change much. I got a bet on polymarket for Tottenham to relegate so it would be interesting if they actually make it to the Championship

Well we basically keep sacking and changing the coaches ever since Sir Alex left us so it was probably an easy decision from the board but Liverpool is different though. You guys was having great season with Klopp then after he left, Slot took over and won the league on his debut so it would be hard decision to sack him just because he is having bad times especially after you guys started pretty good at the early season but thing were taking 180° turn

Yeah we signed some good players last summer but we left several areas critically short on quality. Defensive midfield and centre back are both weak, Konate has been a clown all season and Gravenberch is not a DM. We could really do with Caicedo Salah and Gakpo out wide too have been really poor.

I also think Spurs will survive, they are crap but they should be too good to go down.
