To be honest - this was my first impression too. He was good at Leverkusen but was expected to step up going forward.

Went to Real, unhealthy atmosphere, was sacked. Wasn't really his fault - but people will remember the sacking.
Now Chelsea, unhealthy atmosphere, he isn't doing his future career any favors here. Get the sack there and your next job is 'Roma' instead of 'PSG'.

How many managers sacked by Chelsea in the last 4 years are doing better for themselves or got a bigger offer somewhere else? I guess most of them became unemployed after their time here - the only motive anyone would want to work with these owners is for the money and the long contract offer.

Xabi left a stable and invincible team to Real Madrid for money and fame and now he's back to Chelsea - he came for the money there's nothing else to say.

I haven't seen any of Bayer's league games this season; is Diaby still with them? Dude should be on Xabi's first list of players to buy- strong, fast and skillful.

To be honest, I completely forgot about this thread after I set arbitrary picks for each match every week. Usually I just do 2-1 or 2-0 results - never draws. I think I'm still in the middle of the table or somewhere close to that, which is OK for what is basically a random strategy.

Would've been higher if Permier League teams were not playing for draws in what feels like every other week.

Superbru is about luck for sure,,, over the last few seasons I practically only set picks for the 'big teams' randomly and can sometimes go up or down. I used to 'research' more in the first couple seasons but I believe I did better with random picks, always within 1-0 to 2-1 also, that is the best strategy in the end and just hope for luck to hit.

Picking like more than 3-0 is very risky and brings very little rewards in Superbru.

BTW Italy are the league with the most draws among Europe big leagues, but England is getting more draws with each season, apparently.

After the referee decision in the West Ham match recently it is completely a scandal that red card wasn't given to Havertz tonight. I think that Manchester City's championship has been stolen this season. Now it is seriously discussed from now on that Pep is going to leave the team by the end of the season. I wish he was able to leave Manchester City as the champion deservedly.

First West Ham and now Burnley, wow. Arsenal needed to get mafia help against 2 relegated teams just to win the title 1-0 and 1-0,,, but even if they win their next one 1-0, Chelsea's record under Mourinho survives

Today they drew against Brentford and it took 90+4 for Haaland to equalize the score in this match.

Mathematically now for the last match Arsenal only need a draw that can make them get the trophy but against Crystal Palace is not so easy with the current conditions against Burnley and West Ham alone hassles.
This will be the final in the last match although it is likely that City can also still win if they get 3 points against Aston Villa and Arsenal lose to Crystal Palace, it's just that this possibility is quite difficult because Arsenal definitely don't want to miss their last match.

I thought the point gap was 3, but with this draw the gap is 4 points.

Arsenal are already champions for this season and it took 2 decades for them to feel the champion again in the EPL after they previously won the trophy in 2026.

Man City ruined my bet... I of course expected more at least to win tonight and the following week no matter if you lose or win because it is certain that Arsenal will win.

No matter that I've been saying for a while how much I hate Arsenal's football, I'm glad that they are champions.
Their style this season is not title worthy for sure but in the past they came short often when they played some brilliant football.

Would have liked the last round to be the decider, it's going to be a bit underwhelming now.

I think not only Manchester City fans shout the goal of Haaland but also the Liverpools fans, since with that tie they almost close the fight and they are gonna be in the next champions league(crazy to see them still ahving to fight for a spot in the next UCL).

Anyways that Haaland goal didnt serve for anything so the Pep Guardiola farewell is gonna be without a title in their home.

The strategy that worked well for me this season during the months I spent in first place was a 2-1 correct scoreline for bookies' favorites; it went well until December, when 1-1 and 2-2 draws began to appear for months - I lost my position, changed my strategy to multiple 1-1 and 2-2 scorelines, lost a few more slots, and gave up and started going randomly.

Started badly in the last round but two exact scores kept me in for Top 5 chase.

Congratulations to Arsenal and Jay, I'm happy I didn't take you on any anti- Arsenal side bets this season man

Where it gets interesting is because Aston Villa won the EL, if they lose to Man City and Liverpool beat Brentford then Aston Villa drop to 5th. In that situation 6th place will also qualify for the CL so it would open up the door for Bournemouth or Brighton to play in the CL for the first time in their history.

Down the bottom Spurs need 1 point to guarantee safety. West Ham must win and hope Spurs lose to stay up.

If I was a Chelsea fan I’d rather miss out on Europe altogether. If it’s not the CL, I wouldn’t want to be in it. It means Thursday night and Sunday/Monday PL games all season. It’s disruptive and I wouldn’t want it.

Chelsea have a lot of good players. With a few top signings and Alonso having time on the training pitch with one game a week you could spring a surprise title challenge so if I was a Chelsea fan I would prefer not to play in Europe next season.

Honestly there's no much difference between Europa and Conference league nowadays; Aston Villa just won it without conceeding in the final like it was some kind of preseason game - Europa was more fun when top teams were relegated from the CL group stage to join the Europa. It's totally different now.

Hazard said the same thing; it's better we stay off, give the players more rest and focus on league games next season than playing in some amateur competition to mess the mentality of the players. Playing the Conference league two times in three years for a club like Chelsea feels so awkward. The New owners and the UK Government should be ashamed of themselves.

It's really difficult to say what's worse. I can agree that you don't really wand Conference League distraction - but you also don't want a 1 game per week rhythm as a top club.
You have players that need minutes, reducing the squad is tricky because you hope to play CL next season and need good players - and you also want your team to be used to the 'game every 3 days' rhythm.

I think Chelsea will try to push for a European spot - but to be honest, Sunderland will surely want it more.

I know this is Premier League thread but how are gonna feel some players like Phil Foden Palmer and Maguire after seeing they are not in the list of the England national team for the world cup i know in the case of Palmer for example his season was bad and Chelsea performance also didnt help him but come on Maguire was playing his best in years and also was the captain of the team..... and Foden... i mean it was not his best season that is ok but not bringing him to the world cup is crazy.
