I would love to say it is because of injuries,,, I think we had 80% of the squad out whole season after the first few games, which was the most prominent in attack and midfeld, even when we were playing Solanke and Richarlison it was always half fit.

De Zerbi is very good too,,, but so was our previous managers so something tells me it is going to be more about how he convinces the owners to do what he wants.

We had the same experience under Poch and at some point I thought we were cursed then Enzo Maresca came in and managed the situation perfectly- it has more to do with player's training.

It is a crime to let it happen too long,,, honestly, how many players would be ruined permanently for those ACLs luckily modern surgery seems better at improving total recovery.

Actually for Slot case,,, this was one thing he did change to look at the bright side of things. People might forgot but in his first season he recorded Liverpool's best injury free season in Premier League history simply by changing the way they trained or recovered,,, correct?

Supposedly Alonso wants more control over player transfers which quite often big clubs now prefer to just have a head coach rather than a manager.

Isn't it better for the coach to have control over the transfer of players rather than interfering with the club which can sometimes be a burden for coaches who often conflict.

Iraola looks to be the favourite, he’s done a good job at Bournemouth and plays much better football than Slot.

Maybe if it wasn't Iraola the public would criticize it, but Iraola has a good track record, I'm happy now at Liverpool.

I assume Liverpool were talking to Iraola through the back door; it's fairly common in the English league now- how can I explain to anyone that Iraola left Crystal Palace, and Liverpool fired Anal Slut a few days later to hire Iraola? Shady deal, but I can't prove it.

It's a surprise... however this is common, Anal was sacked, Iraola coming so quickly means there is a back channel.

I don’t know if it’s true but it would make sense to explain why we seemingly didn’t even try to get Alonso. Iraola looks to be the favourite, he’s done a good job at Bournemouth and plays much better football than Slot.

I think maybe they did not want Alonso that badly. He would have been a good option but the management may have wanted to wait and deliberate over the World Cup period to make a decision, but the news of Iraola leaving and one or two positive conversations they may have had with him made up their mind pretty quickly.
If both are available and have the same requests, I still think Liverpool picks Iraola - fits they style of play perfectly and had premier league experience.

It turns out that Maresca resigned because he knew he would replace Pep Guardiola's position at Man Citu, this is what is interested rather than continuing with Chelsea, we know Maresca was not fired but he wanted to leave.

Let this be in the past, I think Xabi has a good plan... the point is Chelsea fans don't be discouraged.

£17m in compensation is not enough; our owners might have sought more or reported Manchester City to the FA for talking with our player behind our backs to block the deal. Enzo Maresca made us to believe that the owners wanted him out; he ruined our season, our chances of playing in Europe, and helped Arsenal win the league.

I loved him, but I can't help but hate watch Manchester City this season and hoping he gets fired along the road.

Totteham has already won the transfer window in my opinion; I honestly did not expect them to be so efficient and swift to sign those guys with no drama, just pure action. It's too early to make predictions for next season, but one thing is certain: Totteham will finish in the top 4 if they can keep 80% of their players fit throughout the season.

My club is slow to buy but quick to sell; they've been looking for a successor since Curcuralla left, but nothing has been done; if it were the other way around, we'd have sold the players at the first meeting.

I'm more curious about the fate of this pool; no more SB.

I'd suggest let's wait till the current organizer(s) issues an official statement before we start that conversation, but it's fine to ask some questions while we wait. They might be working on something for next season behind the scenes with a new sponsor, but we won't know unless we let them speak.

This and the FPL are the only pools I've loved playing, so I hope they continue to exist.

Neither did I,,, I am in some places of Spurs fans and everybody was truly surprised how quickly we moved, definitely would not have done like this under our older management DL  

Our fitness has always been an issue, last season was an extreme case we had more than half the players not available in more than half the season. So if we fix this issue alone we should not see another relegation battle.

I’ve been reading through the threads and noticing that quite a few players are starting to get tired of prediction contests in general and Superbru in particular. Honestly I agree, after a few years Superbru can feel pretty stale. However I don't think prediction contests themselves are dead, they can stay active and entertaining if we change up the platform and more importantly the scoring system.

The main reason Superbru has lost its spark is its rigid scoring structure. It doesn't properly reward risk takers or differential calls. Because playing it safe is the only logical strategy, everyone ends up predicting the exact same repetitive scorelines week in and week out (1-0, 2-1, etc.), going for the safest probabilities rather than making bold picks.

When evaluating alternatives to Superbru, each platform has it's mix of pros and cons. Sleeper has a modern UI with live tracking and built in social chat features, but its main drawback is limited league coverage beyond the Premier League. Kicktipp is a highly reliable platform supporting every league and allowing some customization of scoring rules, though its outdated interface and absence of a dedicated mobile app can feel clunky for quick picks. Then, BeTeam offers an outstanding dynamic scoring model where points scale with both accuracy and prediction difficulty, meaning a 4-3 call or a massive upset yields far more points than a generic favorite's 1-0 win, which solves the issue of repetitive scorelines and rewards risk taking, however it's strictly app only with no web browser version and as a newer startup whose main track record comes from the World Cup, running a full multi month season on it carries a slight risk of mid season stability issues.

At the end of the day these are just a few ideas to open up the floor. If we want to keep our prediction contests fun and active for the long run, switching to a platform with a better scoring system might be the fix we need.

I must admit that I don't like correct score prediction pools very much and will skip most of the Superbru pools for the upcoming season.
But the Premier League pool will be as always an exception, so can't wait for some updates!

Same here, I will play Premier League Superbru if there is nothing else,,, but I would probably jump on something else other than Superbru even if it is not guaranteed to work as well.

Like @el che mentions the boringness of Superbru means everybody is making same picks, same as me,,, especially if you are top, no reason to pick upsets or weird scores, to stay on top. And it is weird to have 60 people playing in pool but like only 5 or 10 active in discussions, partly is Superbru

This is a very different level of labor input. SuperBru calculates everything itself, while a custom pool should have several workers who prepare the outcomes for picks, record and process the results, and resolve operational issues. Honestly, in my opinion, this is a huge amount of work, I, for example, would not be able to take on something like this, including because it is not something that can be put aside and finished later. Sometimes I'm too lazy to make simple picks, imagine what it's like for those who organize everything.

Yes, I can't be the only one who like SuperBru, it's looks kinda boring but I don't think there's a more better score predictor out there that gives flexibility the way SuperBru does.

You can miss somes games in a round and will still be able to participate in the remaining ones; I missed a lot of early kickoffs last season but still managed to put my scores for the remaining games. Only SuperBru can give you that and I like that more. 

Last edition started 1st of August so let's wait for OP- he's probably in the kitchen cooking something for this season.

I think one person will not be able to do it, it takes a few people and even the Champions League format @Buwa does not do it alone, if not wrong they also require large operational costs, then I believe if the Premier League uses a different format, say this base (odds) needs manual calculation right?

Superbru is boring, but everything is easy, although most score predictions will be the same.
Admin will still sit relaxed if with Superbru.

Yeah, I was thinking about it, but some things still to work out. It's actually fine to do the system based only on score picks (josue's format means I only need to enter the FT outcomes) but sponsors tend to want something "extra" and players also want to have something extra, so we'll look at what's possible with the little time left. 38 Gameweeks of doing that is a bit of an operational chore... but if we can get a sponsor, we're always willing to run something.

I would also keep an eye out for Cro2 dealings Those guys are liable to roll something out!

I agree with your post, but about this part, are you sure? I mean i use the kicktipp app in the past for some of the Bundesliga contest, so they have one app.

That is one of the main problems in all of this, from outside it all looks easy and in some part it is but when you start to have changing schedules and games which are postponed plus other matters it start to be a little bit tricky for the organizer since maybe it was not in the rules from the very start and you ahve to addapt on the fly and some users maybe dislike it or think you are trying to favour someone when is nothing like that.
