Hey Everyone,

CharityCoin are pleased to announce that we are now supporting the War Child charity.

This incredible Charity with was founded founded in North America in 1999 by doctors; Samantha Nutt and Eric Hoskins.
War child has worked for many years in some of the world’s toughest war zones and takes a very strong grassroots approach to its humanitarian work. We are proud to help such a noble cause.

CharityCoin will be helping to support War Child with the CharityCoin Fund, however additional community donations are always welcome.

Thanks for pointing them out, however they do not accept Bitcoin or other crypto-currencies, there are no contact details and the entire page is set up using this platform http://nationbuilder.com/fundraising

Thanks for the support Coinmester. We will try and find the group behind this charity. Please feel free to suggest more charities which you think it will need our support. There is an education process to get these organizations to accept cryptocurrency so at this moment we are concentrating 90% of our efforts on charities  already accepting bitcoin or other cryptos.

I would love to support a cause like that. Did you guys ever thought about getting a team of volunteers and doing something similar? Maybe a food drive to a local charity? It could be in different countries and organized by a volunteer who is passionate enough to manage the whole thing. I myself would be down for that. I am in South America though.
I think that would bring some awareness to CharityCoin.

I just noticed Mintpal added CHA to their voting list. It would be nice if this coin was on Criptsy. Anyway to add it to their list?
I notice price is quite low for this coin. What is up with that? People are dumping it? I have been buying on Swisscex and will be holding it as I believe it will do great in the long term.

CharityCoin will match any donations made to Project Marilyn.

So far the community donated nearly  12,000 CharityCoins !!!
CharityCoin will match that amount and any additional donations made until March 12th, 2014.
So please be generous and donate to a great cause!

You can make a difference by sending CHAs to this wallet: CKdtn2GvtYXwbZBxiHSTBB66rcXBhgYAnu

If you didn't have a chance to donate to project Marilyn please do so until tomorrow. CharityCoin will match the final amount donated to this wallet:

That is a great idea. Please send me a PM and let's discuss how we could do something like that. Thanks for the support!

We are very close to the soft fork at 20,400 so for anyone who hasn't upgraded to the new wallet should do so quickly, especially miners.

Hi Mike,

If you are running the CharityCoin wallet and CoinD with the new CharityCoin Logo and branding released 2 weeks ago then you're fine, however I will try to get hold of Matthew to check with you.  Smiley

Mike,

I was personally mining with you guys and have mined many other coins with you in the past. You guys run a great pool, however I think your recent unfortunate DDOS issues pushed people elsewhere and they stayed simply because they don't want to reconfigure their miners.

We really need to get more miners on the scene. In the meantime I sent some Hashloving your way.  Smiley

BTW, A little personal gripe of mine is your Captcha, I hate it and i'm sure many others do to, it's make login in a pain.

But since its there we dont see any bruteforce attack or script attacs from some ppl using user-db (maybe from other pools) anymore. So its a pain, but only needed one time. As long you stay in dashboard, you wont get logged out.
Ask me, I have to do it 40 times a day Wink

I understand, have you tried using other ways to stop brute force attacks such as temporally or even permanently banning the IP after a few failed attempts?

If you must use Captcha perhaps you could shorten the length a little and use just the numbers, the word Captcha drives me and many others I know crazy sometimes.

Well we cant chose, thats google who decide if its words or numbers.

Sure we got fail2ban running, but thats an extra personal work to unban the users who simply try to often then again.
Sice we use that captcha, support mails reg. blocked accounts gone from 100 a day to maybe 10.

I hear what you're saying and I understand that it is difficult to get the right balance between convenience and security.

Matthew should be contacting you soon if he hasn't already done so.
