what happened to this coin? I normally always buy when people dump everything in panic, but this coin only seems to go lower and lower

No one really knows what is going on. I mean there is some room given to the fact coin
launches are always crazy. And add to that the BTC crash madness with GOX.

However -- no word from dev in 24 hours when everyone is saying "WTF".
Reddit has no new posts today that I can see from Dev. Same with forum.
It's weird for sure.

To me it smells like people getting cheap coins from early launch dumps, launch chaos on purpose,
people mining all they can and making it seem like it's dead.

Then in a day or two or three - BOOM - "oh here we are" while sitting on tons
of new coins that they got while mining during all the FUD.

I have seen this over and over. Fear can be a great way to make people go away
for a bit on purpose.

So I guess for now we will sit around for 24-48 hours tops.
But yes community takeover is always possible for any coin.
And yes we can kill the pre-mine addresses.

Anyways.. let's check in tomorrow.

Thats what I've been saying. What is making this so crazy is the listing on an exchange at launch. Could we have made it any easier to dump the premine? Anyway let things settle and give the devs a chance to respond.

I just hope the price starts creeping up. Currently the coins are selling for less than the cost of the power it took to mine them. That has to change, or there will be no miners at all.

I kicked myself for not buying tons of SmartCoins, when it was 0.00004000 and after few days it was grow to 0.00020000. One man bought 40000 SMC at that moment and I think he is happy now. The only thing that initiated this was listing on CoinMarketCap...

Everybody dumped coins at that moment, and there is no room for future downfall because 0.00003000 was a bottom. I told that it will happen, so as I said earlier, I bought in now. Ok, let's grow up to 200.000$ market cap now.

I applied for listing yesterday as soon as I saw the chaos. People didn't know how low they were selling for since it's rare for a coin to list on an exchange on day 2.

Should be listed in a couple days. I will let it be known here when it is. Then people will see how low the market cap is.
Most coins are on there before exchange listing so people have a point of reference.

It's dead, developer is accused to have already dumped the premine on coinmarket which was most likely the whole purpose of "RapidCoin".

At this moment there are 1945 blocks generated (155 600 coins) and 550 000 coins premined and moved somewhere.

I don't see in http://getrapidcoin.com/ledger.html to who and for what you pay 100k coins. Can you update the list?

You know, the things, that will happen next 2 days, are not relate to devs. I said before, that my price, at what I would buy all coins is 2000 sat. Market valued RapidCoin for 3700 as you see now. And price will grow to 10000 if somebody will invest just 2-3 BTC, and I won't tell you what will happen next.

Not to be a hater, but what made this coin "special" besides the nice name?   I was amazed at the launch reception on here when:

• It's premined (although, to their credit, it is apparently being being distributed via promotions with some level of transparency)
• It doesn't implement Kimoto Gravity Well or anything to guard against pump & dump.
• No unique block rewards (like lottocoin, etc.)
• The logo isn't smooth! The general shape is cool, but I would lose graphic design contracts if I submitted images with wild pixels and rough edges!

I guess I just don't understand why some coins get lots of attention while others- with debatably better/more unique features (like prospercoin recently)-don't. Any theories around why this coin got the attention it did?
 

It is pretty "Rapid"  I sent some coins from exchange to my wallet and it was almost instantaneous. As you say, it has a nice name. Thats about it. A faster LTC clone with cooler name
