No one really knows what is going on. I mean there is some room given to the fact coin
launches are always crazy. And add to that the BTC crash madness with GOX.

However -- no word from dev in 24 hours when everyone is saying "WTF".
Reddit has no new posts today that I can see from Dev. Same with forum.
It's weird for sure.

To me it smells like people getting cheap coins from early launch dumps, launch chaos on purpose,
people mining all they can and making it seem like it's dead.

Then in a day or two or three - BOOM - "oh here we are" while sitting on tons
of new coins that they got while mining during all the FUD.

I have seen this over and over. Fear can be a great way to make people go away
for a bit on purpose.

So I guess for now we will sit around for 24-48 hours tops.
But yes community takeover is always possible for any coin.
And yes we can kill the pre-mine addresses.

Thats what I've been saying. What is making this so crazy is the listing on an exchange at launch. Could we have made it any easier to dump the premine? Anyway let things settle and give the devs a chance to respond.

I just hope the price starts creeping up. Currently the coins are selling for less than the cost of the power it took to mine them. That has to change, or there will be no miners at all.

There are lots of coins that end up like that. It's this the first time you ended up holding a coin that might die , that you find it so impossible ?

You , and a lot of people should stop comparing the mining difficulty of a coin with it's price.
Lots of times hundred of miners jump the train of a coin , mine it like hell , the difficulty rockets , coin s are harder to get , but other people besides the miners don't give a satoshi on that coin because it's nothign special.

So , the value is not related to the difficulty.

Not really. For everyone who gets some profit on altcoins there's a sucker who ultimately ends up with worthless coins.

I'm still mining because I can, but the only coin worth investing in for me is, ironically enough, not minable.

How did that turn out? 100k cap to 1M (2M?) cap in a week after takeover.
This coin is trading at 12k market cap (2000 satoshi). The people that bought it will be rich.
12k --- > 250k is 20x profit.

Keep up FUD for cheap coins. Maybe you will get lucky and get last of the pre-mine. Going to sleep
as I already got my coins.

edit -- I just realized another possibility. That we created so much FUD that people keep selling to other people on the way down

The parameters are roughly similar to KlondikeCoin, except for twice the cap, which means twice the time until reward halves.

KDC now trades at 4k satoshi, and they have quite an insane group of holders and a dev team which knows what it's doing. TIPS took off because it had some sort of community, and also Cryptsy has taken them.

Agree with you. If you now have 1 BTC to invest something in coin that is already on the market and dumped to the ground, left by devs, why not to invest? Who don't risk, don't get profit. I've decided to risk, when VertCoin and SmartCoin entered the market... Now I can invest in something else. If I'll lose my 1 BTC, i'll not regret it, but I can get 5-10 BTC back if I will risk. I don't think that somebody who just watching, earned something from any coin here. I understand psychology of losers. They always just talking and doing nothing.

And about MOON, for example... Everybody was talking that there's no future. And oops. From 1 sat to 10 sat in just few days. And market depth there was about 50 BTC. So, somebody bought this big ammounts of "dead" MOON coin. Here we see market depth about 5 BTC, heh...
