Nobody is seriously going to copy Nxt until the broken parts are fixed.
What's broken? The account key is too short! The block hash key is too short! The block hash is not safe from quantum computing! The secret pass phrase is too easy to crack! The genesis account has already been cracked! There is no explicit linking between transactions.
It is unfortunately fundamentally broken.
Anyway, I look forward to clones that fix the problems.
Nobody is going to copy NxT because there are purposely laid traps in the open source code. So a mere copy and paste would lead to a highly exploitable coin. It would take a real developer to copy NxT, not some cheap copy and paster, like 99% of alt coins.
Also, the genesis account was meant to be cracked. It was already emptied long before it was cracked. It was purposely made difficult enough so that it would be safe during distribution, but easy enough to crack later on. It actually was a very interesting qoute, the first line of 1984. Very meaningful when considered in context. It reads, "It was a bright cold day in April, and the clocks were striking thirteen."
Also, this passphrase was a very well known text. Very easy to crack, but a well designed pass phrase is impossible to crack even if every computer on Earth was programmed to hack it. Seriously.
