About Collegicoin

Collegicoin is a new cryptocurrency that intends to help fix a major problem with higher education, cost. It is a student-centered coin that will allow students to have more control over their college expenses.

As a proof-of-work coin with masternodes, students will be able to mine their own coins and/or invest in a masternode to help create passive income. They will then be able to use these coins at online establishments like textbook rental companies, university bookstores, and school supply stores. We also hope to work with colleges and universities to give students the option to pay for part of their tuition with Collegicoin.

Collegicoin will also have something that helps set it apart from other coins – yearly scholarships for students! Not only will they be able to create their own passive income, they can compete for a scholarship that will give them another way to save on their education. (See below for more on the scholarship)

The Collegicoin Scholarship

Since Collegicoin is student-centered we will be offering a twice yearly scholarship to students. Students who apply for the scholarship can be from any major or college, but they must show a few things with their submissions. Each applicant will provide a submission essay, major of study, statement of need, tuition statement from institution, and their personal CLG address. Winning applicants will receive 10000.00CLG sent to their address to use as they see fit.

Good question. There are three main people (you can see it in our whitepaper) working on this. Everything has already been built, we are just in final testing. We have already funded everything initially and are looking to raise additional capital to bring on more developers. We don't NEED the funds for presale, it would just help us bring on more developers sooner.

I believe this to be a nice project for students helping them to get that passive income and i also like the idea of been able to get other school items online and most importantly, been supported by some schools hopefully to be used for  tuition fee payments. We are student focused, not college focused. Other coins are more concerned about making money from colleges and universities, or they want payments to be for online only schools. We're focusing on saving the student money by giving them the opportunity to use coins at their bookstores or online textbook rental companies. It's definitely different than the other education coins out there.

Additionally, we are offering scholarships twice yearly for students! :-)

We are in talks with colleges, bookstores and textbook rental companies and will release our payment system in the next couple of quarters.

This is awesome, this will go a long way for most students that will really take advantage of this which most of us would have love to have back when we were still in school 😀. I believe this is a good project and kudos to the teams for this development and will really go along way in education once fully completed.
