Why blockchain? Why not create a centralized title system just like every other industry?

Answer:

• Privacy is highly prized by bidders and sellers alike in the arts & collectibles space, which is why no title registry currently exists in the market. The lack of title registry hampers the ability to buy, sell, insure, and lend against the asset class, as well as prevent bad actors.
  
• By placing provenance on the blockchain and building a separate product to handle auctioning of the assets, we will be able to provide an immutable transaction history of the piece of art while still protecting the bidders and sellers’ privacy.
