Why first you wanna go with the ICO project when you do not know the project well. First go to website and read the white paper and then finally need to check the team and confirm it mate. If you find all the information good there you can invest on that concern ICO project mate.

In  my opinion it is totally worst work to invest in ICOs because in present time it is very tough job to find out the perfect ICO to make Investment .
Right now I am seeing that almost all the ICOs are having same type of quality and better concept of the business work of use of the coin but in actual most of them are scam .
Here is can give simple example of the scam , about 2 month back I invested in KYC.legal ICO , at that time a big hype was going on with that ICO and everyone was saying that it is can perfect ICO etc etc , but now I can see very well that how they scammed me and also another investors , they said that they will list the coin at any exchange before 1 July , and today that the date is we can see clearly .
So here better to keep himself away from any type of ICO Investment .

If you don't take risk you will never earn money. Real estate is good investment but it can't give you 10 or 100X.
Investors are not sick people, they are only willing to take risk while others are not. Taking less risk would be if you buy tokens when bounty hunters are dumping them.

I think your investment strategy is also quite reasonable. It will help reduce the risk because altcoin is already listed on the exchange, we can identify and make plans accordingly. But, profits will be lower, if they are higher than ICO prices and have good growth potential then the probability of loss is very high. Popularity of ICO's or hype is over since last year which for now we do see almost of those projects do dump down when it hits exchangers.Unlike before where it do minimally hit x2 or more but now it do decrease 3-5x lower based on my own experience and views. Its quite ideal for you to wait up for dumps rather than on investing either on pre-sale or main sale because even how discounted it would be you would still get negative when price hits up very low. Buying always on the floor will be good but it doesnt make or except you from risk you are still prone this is why always base on potential of the project and dont just randomly bought dumped coins.

Buying or participating in ico to invest is in your own management. If you think it is more profitable. But, there is a risk on it then you can decide after all. Buying below ico prices has a risk that sometimes means not so good ico to invest but not all, the risk is slightly lower than investing in ico.

Of course, ICO projects are becoming increasingly bleak and are losing a lot of investors around the world, even though many investment funds are still not active in the ICO sector and the only reason is the downtrend phase is still going on. Personally I only invest in ICO projects when the market enters the uptrend period because that is the time when people can earn the best profit.

Most of the ICOs before were garbage, with a few good projects mixed in. Best projects did ICO a long time ago. Little more than the garbage remains. Yet people still throw ridiculous sums of money at them. So expect the cash grab to continue
