You Should make an IRC channel on freenode.Smiley

Made. Check the site. It's a bit of a ghost town atm, but people will start coming.

wait to launch...

Dude you need to chill. I already posted the launch time multiple times here.

Will official pool:
http://pool.synco.in:33550/

Go live before launch in order to have time to get account setup correct?

It's a p2pool system, no registration needed. As soon as it goes live you can mine. Username = SYN address, password = anything you want.

Does p2pool go alive at the begining of launch?

i've been so up in the air lately with what coin to mine. shit is damn frustrating, especially when a launch tends to be disastrous for many people. Pandacoin was an insane launch and really favored those who got into a good pool, avoided the fork and had a high hash rate. i like that this coin has low rewards at the start, but will it increase eventually? honestly i think it's smart to begin with low reward and ease into a normal reward amount with a fairly standard halving procedure. something like that would likely make it less of a pump and dump. I'll mine this coin and do what i can to help it out!

There won't be the giant rewards for the people who jump on the coin early... much less of a chance of getting "left out" if you're on the wrong fork for a bit.

We'll be aggressively seeking out network nodes to add to our pool at launch to help its chances of staying on the main fork, and hopefully the other pool owners will do the same.  This doesn't stop forks from happening, but the more connected the p2p network is, the better the chances are of everyone "agreeing" on what the proper block chain is.

My failure at getting in on Bitcoin early motivated me to code the coin in this way.

No, but I'll fix that now. Updated zips.

I'm a little confused..

Will I be able to mine this, just like any other Scrypt coin? (Such as litecoin, earthcoin etc.)
Or will I need to modify my .conf differently? I don't want to be going crazy at the last minute trying to figure it out. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Yes, however this is highly inefficient (even at the first stages of the coin). I would recommend you mine with a pool. When phase2 rolls around I'll explain how mining will have to change to accommodate the built-in ASIC resistance. Don't worry, the client is programmed to handle the fork seamlessly.

I'm a little confused..

Short answer: Yes
Long answer: Yes and no. Eventually you'll have to switch out your old scrypt miner and use a scrypt-N miner (either the ones provided by VertCoin or the ones I'll provide to the community). But that's in June.

Also... you should have a different conf for each coin because they connect to different node servers... o.O

GPU Friendly! Come mine with us:

We are loaded and ready for launch!  Pool is configured, stratum is ready to go as soon as we compile the wallet on our 16-core build machine.  We should be hashing by 12:05 AM. Smiley
