Details for the PRiVCY 2.0 swap: The PRiVCY 2.0 swap period began on Sunday, April 4th, and will conclude on Wednesday, May 5th at 00:00 UTC (31 day window). At this point, we will make all final decisions on the swap ratio, total supply, and rewards. We are conducting the swap in this way to maximize rewards for users while also avoiding dilution of the coin supply, and to make the best decisions for the long-term health of the coin, as PRiVCY has been around since 2018, and began with an airdrop phase. Basically, we don't know how many coins will ultimately be swapped, and this figures in closely. Stakecube is handling the swap for us. All coin holders should navigate to http://privcy.eu/stakecube  to create an account, and deposit your PRiVCY there as soon as possible.

As to the reasons for the swap, this has been a long time coming. Our codebase while being very solid and never having issues forking unexpectedly, is getting old, and any updates to the chain always have extra challenges, which is not what should be focused on when doing development. We'll be going to a totally new codebase that allows us to integrate features for sending coins privately (similar in function to the mixer we've had on our development list for some time), and Instantsend for quick txs, (think retail) while we also retain our Tor routing for even more privacy options. We will go to a MN/POW payout schedule that fulfills one of our other long-time development items. We HAD planned to implement POS V3.0 which requires wallets to remain open to gain staking weight. The idea was that it would force users to keep their wallets open to gain staking weight. The problem now is people turn off their wallets for 20-30 days then run them, collect stakes for a few days then turn them off for another 20-30 days. Integrating  POS V 3.0 would of solved this exploit by not allowing coins to gain weight unless the wallet was open. However, there were other security issues with POS V 3.0 that were never solved to our satisfaction. Going to a MN reward structure does however solve this issue by forcing wallets to remain open to support the network, and CPU mining assures that even users with no balance can accumulate some PRiVCY. Speaking of mining, another consideration is that the algorithm PRiVCY uses is nearing its end of life. It's an ASIC mining algo (X13) and no company has put out any X13 miners since 2017. We will be switching to a CPU mining algorithm that will decentralize mining. It will be ASIC and GPU resistant, which will give everyone a chance to mine some PRiVCY but will keep any one person from mining too much.

Another issue that we are solving thru the swap is to correct the reported circulating and total supply. For background,  PRiVCY was taken over by the present team in 2019 when we had lost access to the team wallets and all team funds. Our developer replaced those dev funds thru a premine, and the old team funds were blacklisted within the code of the coin.

These coins still exist on the chain, however, although they can never be spent. There are also coins that were stolen and "frozen"  by Crex24 (700,000) which count against our total supply. And thirdly, (regarding coin supply) we hold more team funds than is customary or normal for a coin team to have. Since the team wallet hasn't even been opened since last summer, we plan to liquidate most of those coins in the swap keeping just enough coins to run 4-6 MNs to support the network as is reasonable. Presently our explorer reports 31,000,000 + coins with a total supply of 30 million coins. Even if there were no other good reasons for a swap, this issue needs to be corrected to move forward, and the only way to do it is to swap. But we are not just swapping, we are taking this opportunity to implement any development items that we can at this time that will improve the project.

So to sum it up, PRiVCY will be going from a POW/POS format to POW/MN payout structure, we will change from an ASIC mining algo to a CPU mining algo, and we will adjust all coin parameters for maximum utility and adoption when the swap period ends and we can take into account what has been deposited, and finally, all coins must be deposited to Stakecube by May 5th to be swapped.
