The block has to mature before sending out the coins, this is where it can control that everything was done correctly, that it wasnt orphaned, mined twice etc etc, usually takes around 100blocks, more or less. Not sure how long it is for maxcoin tho.

Still dont know my adress Sad

Btw, just to be clear. is there no reason to mine solo?

I thought you could mine coins solo when they where this new..

for windows

open up a command prompt (windows key + r and type cmd - ok)

navigate to the folder where you extracted maxcoind.exe to (C:\Documents and Settings\varagtp)
so you command prompt is showing C:\Documents and Settings\varagtp>

then type maxcoind then enter
it will load the wallet and all you will see is the cursor blinking on the next line
don't stress it's catching up. (to check open up C:\Documents and Settings\varagtp\Application Data\MaxCoin  and open up the debug.log file to see it catching up. give it 5-10mins

now open up another command prompt (windows key + r and type cmd - ok)
navigate to the folder where you extracted maxcoind.exe to (C:\Documents and Settings\varagtp)
so you command prompt is showing C:\Documents and Settings\varagtp>

then type maxcoind getnewaddress then enter

if i haven't messed it up it will then show you your address.

hope that helps

I'm following this instructions but I can't get my address, this is the error
error: couldn't connect to server

PLEASE help!!!

Maxcoind is probably not running on your machine. It probably crashed. I have got it to run, but it crashes all the time and never connects. I can only send a few rpc commands, most of the rpc commands I send crash the daemon.

What a clusterfuck this launch was. I had 72 cores online and synced 15 minutes after the genesis block. I also had an nVidia card running solo. I'm confident that 1GH pool won't pay me for any of my shares/blocks, even though I was in the top 10 for an hour or two initially. I still haven't received any coins.

1gh.com pool has been paying me and i only had 4 cores! The coins are in my wallet already.

You have to make sure that you were not using the cpuminer from the maxcoin site but the one from https://github.com/1gh/cpuminer

Not really, the mining is still mostly CPU that will probably change as soon as cgminer binaries for windows get out there.

Code:
maxcoind getinfo
{
    "version" : 80900,
    "protocolversion" : 70001,
    "walletversion" : 60000,
    "balance" : 0.65492632,
    "blocks" : 1385,
    "timeoffset" : 0,
    "connections" : 20,
    "proxy" : "",
    "difficulty" : 820.90826833,
    "testnet" : false,
    "keypoololdest" : 1391719978,
    "keypoolsize" : 101,
    "paytxfee" : 0.00000000,
    "errors" : ""
}
I am sure that diff will leap with GPUs

UPDATED, GET THE NEW 1GH.COM MINER!

Guide updated with the 1GH cpuminer, as apparently the official cpuminer by MaxCoin was flawed...
maxcoinproject: 1gh does not work indeed with your cpuminer. No stratum pool does, you messed up txids.

delete your old cpuminer dir
Code:
cd ~
rm -r cpuminer

Download the 1GH MaxCoin (SHA-3) minerd (+configure and compile)
Code:
git clone https://github.com/1gh/cpuminer
cd cpuminer
./configure CFLAGS="-O3"
make
strip minerd

Code:
./minerd -a keccak -o stratum+tcp://maxpool.1gh.com:17333 -u maxwalletaddress -p x

been following this topic since yesterday looking for an explanation of how to even OPEN the maxcoin files on PC or OSX.
is there a page or thread which explains what to do?

on OSX i get a warning box 'maxcoin-qt quit unexpectedly'
on PC some black cmd window pops-up for a second before disapearing and then nothing happens

any tips to get beyond this stage?

with the new cpuminer by max.1gh, /.maxcoind or ./maxcoind are no longer recognized I get:

maxcoind is the daemon for solo mining, the cpuminer uses ./minerd

access your maxcoind

Code:
cd ~
./maxcoind getbalance

to switch to your cpuminer:

Code:
cd ~/cpuminer
./minerd -a keccak -o stratum+tcp://maxpool.1gh.com:17333 -u WALLETADDRESS -p x

Also please note that if you're pool mining, make sure to kill the maxcoind process first because it is running in the background: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=450539.msg4982489#msg4982489

Hi instacash

Many thanks for all your assistance.
I'm running the pool miner but I've been starting the daemon with
Code:
./maxcoind --daemon
so I can then check my balance with
Code:
./maxcoind getbalance

Am I doing it wrong?
