Great news and a very welcome first step to return to normality.

Of course that the scams should be filtered out, I don't think anybody would complain (except the scammers of course). I guess that this was expected from start.
And I agree that finding about an ICO if it's scam or not may not be easy, so their "admission" should come as a later step.

This might actually have a positive impact on the Bitcoin price which has been decreasing for some time now. I'm not surprised that they have decided to lift the ban. They were probably earning a lot of money on crypto related product advertisments. What about Google? As far as I remember they also banned cryptocurrencies ads. I know that they were really misleading in most cases.

Facebook is doing the right thing. They have to go through Facebook's approval to issue ICO ads. This is a good signal, which means that those scam ico ads will gradually decrease in the future.

This is just advertising, they probably felt that they were losing a lot - it's their income. I do not know anyone who will voluntarily reduce their profits.
ICO to advertise, because they will be guilty in the event of any fraud - are afraid.

so who is going to advertise?

i can't remember seeing any ad anywhere that wasn't an ICO back in the day. i guess what you have left is services like exchanges but most of them have little need to advertise. i'm curious to see what pops up.

It's not going to change anything on the price, It will just give another source of advertisements for the companies but thinking it will boost the price is just fancy. Its' not like if HSBC, BOA and JPS Morgan decided to accept Bitcoin deposits.

so who is going to advertise?

i can't remember seeing any ad anywhere that wasn't an ICO back in the day. i guess what you have left is services like exchanges but most of them have little need to advertise. i'm curious to see what pops up.

Some local services and startups were doing great with Facebook ads, but yeah of course the established don't need it

Ya they have lifted the ban but only for the cryptocurrency which are listed and trading not for new ICO as still new ICO are banned to advertise in facebook. Read full information as they have initiated a form where a cryptocurrency have to produce the licence of project and give details about where it is listed and traded.

So i think it wont affect much on bitcoin price as the ban is still for ICO and initial coin offering is still not able to advertise in facebook.

But until now we have not seen any increase in the price of the information, on the day cryptocurrency market has decreased some percent. The decision by Facebook to revoke the advertising ban on cryptocurrency is likely to create a cryptocurrency itself. We can not dismiss this is good news, hopefully the future of other companies and even countries that previously prohibited cryptocurrency will revise again to accept or could be neutral to utilize cryptocurrency.

It's a good start towards a global awareness about bitcoin and crypto, and as we all know, the bans from Facebook and Youtube about crypto ads didn't really affect much of the market but rather caused a small panic towards newbies that didn't last long. This will be a good leverage for crypto users to let other people know that bitcoin and cryptos are slowly and gradually being accepted in the society and even the higher echelons of the finance and tech industries are starting to give their share. I just wish that they still filter shady ICOs on their adverts and just publish the legitimate and promising ones.

It can only be a positive thing for the price of bitcoin. I think in general tha age of Facebook users is much older these days, and they are cashed up yearning for ways to invest their money. If we can appeal to them via facebook or other mainstream channels it can mean some fresh blood in the crypto arena.

hopefully they don't just lift the ban. hopefully they also add some sort of extreme filtering method to prevent the mess that was going on before they banned them.
they need to disallow most of ICO advertisement and all of the scam ads pointing to fake wallets and viruses. otherwise in a couple of months we will be back where we started and they have to ban them again.

it sounds like genuinely awful news. more worthless crap for people to wade through that brings nothing worthwhile to the world. i presume most of these guys are just spamming at each other so there's no material gain for the projects themselves.

That was to be expected honestly, they were probably losing a lot of revenue from legitimate crypto-related services.
The fact that they're still banning ICO's and binary options is understandable, just too much scam going on there to sift through everything.

Let's hope Google will follow suit soon, or they're going to lose a lot of revenue to Facebook advertising.
