How much merit is needed to get ranked up from Junior to the next one?
or maybe there is some other way to get promoted ? sick already being junior

You need 10 merit and have 60 post to get Member, 100 merit to get up to Full member and 250 merit to get up to Senior.

He needed 60 activity too along with 10 merit, not 60 posts. To become full member, needs 120 activity and 100 merit and senior, you need 240 activity and 250 merit points.

Earning merit is more harder than earning bitcoins here in this forum, because most of the member of this forum is really selfish on sharing of there smerit to other members even those posts that are really deserving to be given, it's hard to believe but it's really the truth.

One of the smerit functions is to get bitcoin easily in this forum, it means if you get a lot of merit then chances to get bitcoin in this forum definitely with ease. But if what you say is true, indirectly this forum has failed to apply smerit.

So merit systems works as a ladder to get your rank high. Every Rank requires a particular amount of points to achieve. Higher ranks means higher merit. You can acquire those merit by posting informative piece on the forum. Merit system limits those low quality posts and promotes good one.

you have to be patient about this system merit why so many people who complain about the merit system. I also, the requirement to get the merit is to make a quality post that was difficult also for me

You can get merit if somebody gives you. You'll only be able to get your post contributed to this furom. If your post has a quality that is different from others and you can get.  then do not post a post, Learn more before you post. Thanks you.

False. Merit system doesn't has that function since it was introduced. Merit is being implemented to avoid spammer ranked up, so only quality posters who will be ranked up. It's not about to earn bitcoin or any token "more easily".
Where is the fail? As fas as i've seen, merit system is very good and it works.

Nowadays its really hard almost impossible to get merit, even if it is it will take you ages to get promoted to the next rank.

      The merit system was recently introduced to the bitcointalk forum. Its purpose is to increase the number of quality, constructive posts that aim to get others out of the mess. To get a merit or more, you need quality posts to be appreciated by others. Merits are some appreciations of the other forum members. Personally, I do not think that these merits are only offered on the basis of quality posts, but rather, it is offered between knowledge to help.

Merit system has been launched by the our own forum admin theymos to avoid the trustless people and streamline rank up and merited people. Actually it is called likes in your facebook.
If you want to rank up with in this forum. You need to get the expected merits as said in theymos thread.
Please do not get the merit for money. You will be in trouble for sure.

I still can not see the point that behind of the Merit System.

- Why only some users have Merits?
- Why not clear and exact definitions of it?
- Why no like "thanks" button kind for getting Merit?
- Forums are belong to the community then why community have no option to choose best topics with Merit?

All these questions make me think about on Meris System as unfair. Yeap it seems no fair in Merit logic; I see that idea is great but the work process is not though.

Maybe Forum Administration can review my and others critiques then update the process of Merit.

What i know for you to have a merit is you really need to provide a very helpfull and knowledgeable information for now i can say that its better if you are focusing to gather exact and valid things about the crypto so in that case for sure we can follow if how we can get a merit. For having a merit its not that easy its your hardwork and effort and long patience is the one that you needed

   You know at this moment it is very difficult to earn merit points. But don't loss your hope just do your part to have it. You need to post a very informative,useful,with quality,meaningful and very attractive post so that someone give attention and who knows that someone will give you a merit.

The Merit system was born to fight account-farmer behavior. In the past, just post or reply you can be up rank on bitcointalk, but now your content contributes to the quality and useful for the forum, everyone sends merit for you to be able to rank up, from Jr. Member up to Member required a minimum of 10 Merits.
