bitcoin is about to see the major pump in the coming days so this is the right time to hold the bitcoins for future profit
Once a transaction has 6 confirmations, it is extremely unlikely that an attacker without at least 50% of the network's computation power would be able to reverse it.

I bought some bitcoin in March 2017, sell half of it in Dec 2017 and hodl the other half since then. The current downward trend seem to last for a very long time and I'm quite upset about it. What do you guys think? Should I hodl or sell all my BTC now?

In the current situation of the market today, yes you should continue to hold your coins because the price today is already starting to grow which is a good that bitcoins might even reach $50k dollars before the year ends.

The 3rd quarter will almost to end so i suggest to keep on holding your Bitcoin because you have already waited for a long time since January so better to continue waiting until this year would end and lets see if the predictions by most famous cryptp experts might really happen as desired.

For me I will continue to hold on to my bitcoin. Even though its price is too high for me to continue because there are ordels that will increase the price of bitcoin we do not know when or what time.
Because we do not know because we do not have the process yet.

"Should you HODL your Bitcoins?"

In the long run, the answer is always "yes"

yes you should continue to withhold the bitcoin you have lest you be affected with bad news so sell the assets you have at a very cheap price. let people give waffle to sell but you have to be confident to keep holding.

If it is still profitable at the price you want to sell, then sell. I wont expect anyone who bought at $20k to consider selling now irrespective of his need, It will be unwise doing such. It is guaranteed that the price will climb some day but no one can predict when.
Don’t be upset, the price is growing again and I am sure that you will recover all your deficits in the near future. Be patient and hold your coins for some more time. Profit and loss are parts of business and you will have to bear this downwards situation of the market. It will not remain forever. You will see growth in the price very soon.
It depends upon the need and the price on which you bought. If you realize that you can make a profit of atleast 30% then go ahead and sell your coins, but if not then holding is better. If you do not need money then why you want to sell your coins? Leave them for some time and when the price grows more then sell them out. Be patient and cool about your holdings.

Yes that is a very good decision I think. In fact bitcoin price is still trading too much low, but now its price has started increasing and I think that it will continue increasing for a long time. So It is not the time to sell but to hold for some more time for the price increase.

You can still buy bitcoin. It is never too late. There was a couple of months price below 7 000, it is still quite good to invest. I know people who invested while it was 11 000 and they sold it on 19 000. It depends how much money you are looking to invest, how much you want to wait until it raises again... It certainly isn't the best moment like when I joined 5 years ago,  but it still has room to make some money from it. Just what you need right now is to hodl Smiley
People that have been here for more than a year and had the opportunity to buy bitcoin when it was relatively cheap have no room to complain and those that only discovered bitcoin recently have no room to complain either, it is not like bitcoin was kept a secret at all, in fact many people were promoting bitcoin all over the Internet, if you did not wanted to listen that is your fault.

Yeah I think that it wants to keep moving up. It's at some pretty strong resistance right now but if it can break through past the 8500 level it'll keep going for a while I think.

What you should think about if you want to sell it is whether you really need the money or not. Can it sit in there and gain in value for some time? Or do you need to buy something? Pay rent? Pay bills? In that case it might need to be cashed out.

But if it's something that isn't needed right now, it can wait. Frustration is natural in investing because it never goes the way you'd like it to go in the beginning. Have patience and good things will come.

You already made some decent profits your investment,so you already know what the bitcoin can do.I think this is not the right time to sell if you are looking for more profits because the prices maybe spikes up soon because if ETF,so better hold for now.

Yeah you should hold your bitcoin as long as you can because the price today is very low and if you sell your holding you will lose your investment. The future is bright of bitcoin and the price will grow again in the future. You just need to be patient and cool. Crypto investment is for long term and especially these days are not for sale besides for holding.

Holding is not making bitcoin any more value than lack of sources. I know there are less bitcoins in the market because of all the holders and lost coins and so forth but still if you just spend your coins on something with bitcoin you are telling that seller that you would rather use bitcoin than fiat currency, also if you provide people with bitcoin payment option on whatever you are making money and offer them some sort of discount than you are telling even more people to get bitcoin so they can pay you less. All of this creates a bigger world than just you that uses bitcoin. As per the trend of last weeks, bitcoin started to show positive side which may last months to year when considering the money inflow capabilities from most other investments. Hence continuing bitcoin holding is highly recommended.

if you can still afford to hodl it and don't need the money yet. I would suggest thay you hodl it. It's pretty hard to tell if bitcoin would recover to the point where you'll earn or even have your investment back, but atleast bitcoin has been having good news right now. Maybe it could affect the future prices.

Patience will be the determinant whether you will benefit or even lose. This is a natural thing nowadays because cryptocurrencies are still in development stage, significant increases and declines are still influenced by a manipulation. So rest assured that cryptocurrencies will develop in the future. Hold as long as possible and we wait for the right time to achieve a bright future with cryptocurrencies.

You should definitely keep holding, try to wait for the bullish season to take over, where the prices of Bitcoin and altcoins are really high otherwise you will regret it later on. Try to be patient for the bearish season is almost over, its been proven for the past few years that the Bitcoin has the capability to recover even to its lowest value.

it is true waiting for a long time is quite tired. we must have extra patience to get what we expect. it's better to hold it, because the bitcoin is now recovered and pump immediately. Your patience will be paid off with satisfactory results.

Exactly. That's how the best traders do it. Bitcoin seems to be struggling lately, it hasn't been able to move much higher in the past week or so. It's a good thing not to need it right now because it should be gathering enough energy to move higher again soon. Unless someone steps in with a massive short position, which I really hope doesn't happen. There were some pretty violent moves yesterday but it bounced back right away.

It's already bounced down and back up 5% twice now from the 8000 range, what's next?
