AFAIK. All crypto prices depend on the bitcoin price. So I think the cause of altcoins weakened not only by the purchasing power decreases.
The reason why I interested in altcoins is if the developer team serious to develop their project to reach the main goal. From there we can see the potential of the altcoin.
