Thank you for bumping this. It has been a while. I intend to put myself forward to get approved here since there's no activity left with the merit source in the local board that we have. I hope this can be noticed and approved.

I have been better at determining worthy merit posts hopefully, this would be enough to become one.

You have so much determination to do this for your people and I encourage you to continue to do what would not just help your people alone but also to grow this forum, your intentions are good use it well if given the chance and continue doing what's best. I agree, with a merit source like crwth the Philippines Local Board board will be invigorated, so many things are happening in our country when it comes to Cryptocurrency if we have a guy like crwt as a merit source the local board will have a lot of interesting discussion.

It's been 5 years since this application, the time is ripe for the Philippines Local Board to have one merit source.

@theymos sir, Please reconsider this merit application for our Pilipinas board because we really need it badly. We are very active in terms of organic discussion and sharing information on our local board yet we don’t get merit to help us grow our account.

Our board is slowly become less active now because many users wants to hang out to global board for a chance to get merit for constructive post. Most of the local board even local threads with less post activity than us have a merit source that gives them the opportunity to cycle merit among members. Please reconsider this application once again because we don’t have merit source right while most of our account increased activity without having opportunity to rank up because not everyone here is good enough to accumulate merit on global board.

Naturally, Pilipinas local board has by far the lowest percentage of merited posts and I really think that they could use help fo the external merit sources, assuming that they have enough quality undermerited posts.

I just realized it recently when I created a topic then browse most of the topic that recently created. Most of the local members contributes genuinely and not the typical shit post but I notice we rarely received merits then I realized that most of the member on our board has no smerit or limited smerit to share that’s why merit distribution is low among members.

I already created a topic on our local board to make an awareness to your application. We Filipinos is naturally patient that makes merit distribution is commonly ignored and just keep doing our regular post without expecting merit. This is why our merit situation is not taken seriously by fellow members. Hoping that you will get your merit allocation soon. 🙏

I know its not the real solution for your problem, but have you guys considered using merit giveaway threads until you get additional merit souirces from your own local board? Other local boards that lack merit sources (like for example Nigerian and Indonesian) really profited from them so imho its worth trying. 

Btw, are there more merit source applications from your local board, considering the fact that @crwth submitted his almost 6 years ago and still hasn't been approved?

If I remember correctly we have 1 active merit source 2 years ago while this application happened 6 years ago. I think this is the reason why @Theymos don’t consider this merit application but @cabalism13 becomes less active prior to his issue on his foundation thread.

He doesn’t fulfill his merit source properly after that issue and leave us on this current condition that has no new merit being distributed to local members.

The problem with merit giveaway threads is that it's not really sitting right with a lot of people that's on the Pilipinas board, I don't frequent there because I know that the board isn't that active and as much as I like to think about posting there and talking with my paisanos, it's a bit off putting that replies and other posts takes a long time. I think that crwth needs to get his application approved, that way, it's going to revitalize the board and hopefully inspire other Filipino forum users to post more stuff there to make it more active.

The problem with merit giveaway threads is that it's not really sitting right with a lot of people that's on the Pilipinas board, I don't frequent there because I know that the board isn't that active and as much as I like to think about posting there and talking with my paisanos, it's a bit off putting that replies and other posts takes a long time. Also it cannot paddle so well since everyone has limited smerits to give, so maybe the best solution for merit drought on Pilipinas board is to have a new merit source since the current merit source in that local board is already gone due to controversy he encountered. So hopefully theymos would consider the application of crwth since maybe this could bring some some good changes on Philippines section.

I would want to bump this application for the benefit of our local board, Pilipinas. I hope to get accepted this time to help our local board.

Here is my analysis.

Recently, I posted about our Merit in the local board. [META] Merit Analysis - Pilipinas Local Board. I created this post to examine the impact of the merit system on our local board.

We had been stagnant in merits for a long time due to the inactivity of our previous merit source, and recently, we had great news about theymos accepting an application from our local, cryptoaddictchie. The date was June 6, 2025, when he was accepted, and it has changed from there.

The figure below shows a 2-month range with and without the merit source.


Thankfully, we received a 28% increase in merits after our merit source, and it was great news. More activity has occurred, and there has been a decrease in demotivation among users in our local board, along with an increase in activity. It's a great start, and we're certainly thankful.

Upon closer examination, I selected a few local boards for comparison, with a date range from June 5 to August 8. The Pilipinas board exhibited high posting activity, with 1,074 posts from 59 users.


However, it ranked lowest in merit, with a Merit/Post Ratio of just 0.32 and an average of 1.3 merits per transaction. Compared to boards like Spanish and Deutsch, which have significantly higher merit ratios and generosity, Pilipinas appears to struggle with merit distribution.


This highlights a potential need for more merit sources for the local board to encourage higher-quality contributions.

Thanks for this wonderful data resource you shared for Local Philippines Merit progress. Im kinda glad that I made a significant progress with the increase of post rate merit ratio for our boards. After careful consideration, I believe it’s best to step back for now due to ongoing issues in the local board that could affect fair merit distribution. I still plan to remain active in the local board and contribute positively, but I feel that withdrawing my application at this time is the most responsible decision. The people taking advantage of the forum are disheartening, and I've lost the motivation to help the local board now.

I imagine that there is an exchange of merits between alts belonging to the same person and other similar cheating, such as joining the same campaign. I suppose this should be discussed in Reputation, but I don't see anything about it in the latest threads.

Oh, OK, I had seen those threads but didn't realize that those members were from the Philippines. What you're saying makes sense. If you were appointed a merit source, even if you wanted to do things right, chances are you would send merits to multi-accounters, who in turn would send merits to their alts.
