Yeah, I just noticed. I don't think it's so much the grammar (hopefully) as it is the use of some English expressions and such, which is really hard to avoid when it comes to technology in general. I'll look over the article more closely during the weekend.

Great. So after you review it, you can drop a message in Imperto's Discussion page and ask him to check again. If he has any further objections, he should point you some specific (and reasonable) examples. Otherwise, you (or he) should remove the "{{språkvård||månad=2011-03}}" template and you will be ready to get the bounty.

If you have any doubt about policies or how to interact with other Wikipedia editors, you can ask me, either in this thread or via PM.

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

Personally I found the English article to be quite lacking. I'm not sure you get a good understanding of how exactly Bitcoin actually work from reading it. It also contains a lot of repetitions. I also think the article needs to push the economic aspects a bit more and be a bit more self-critical. Right now it's mostly about the tech, which is, to most people, rather uninteresting.

I have opened this thread to discuss how to improve it (no bounty there).

Instead of waiting forever until translations are 100% perfect, which makes no sense since we have a lot to improve in the original English article, I'll start rewarding the bounty now for those who have provided a decent (or better) translation. At the moment, that means everyone. If someone makes further improvements, specially after the English article gets better, and the translation turns out to be a really good article... then it would be time to reward some extra bitcoins.

So, these are the rewards:
  • TiagoTiago. Portuguese. 4·log10 678890 = 23.327. Sent to 1FmvtS66LFh6ycrXDwKRQTexGJw4UWiqDX.
  • foxmulder. Indonesian. 4·log10 158104 = 20.796. Sent to 1Cxa2JZ1CE4DUSLtg3j7xaNBNiqjbjQtcG.
  • niooron. Spanish. 4·log10 742798 = 23.483. Sent to 1HFFY7CtnXGceMvv9a6AQNTgyAu9ySd3Mb.
  • Zulu. Swedish. 4·log10 391484 = 22.371. Sent to 1Ko9yVjydbqnMFFex1CYAP2krS76e7GNs5.

Bounty received, thank you. I've rewritten parts of the Swedish article during the weekend, brushed up the references and changed some of the overall structure etc. I've also had some suggestions on how to improve the grammar from two Wikipedians which I think I've dealt with. Hopefully the grammar flag will be removed in the near future.

topi is working on Finnish: http://fi.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bitcoin

Skimming through that translation, it is lacking external links section and categories.

Hi, it's true that I forgot to put on the external links altogether. Working on the small details makes one forget the larger ones Smiley

I added some own contributions at some places, I'll try to see if these spots could be better written on the original English article. Also, wikifying is important, to add some wiki links to various words and concepts. Work-in-progress Smiley

At least the amount of translations of the original article is slowly improving!

I added External links and also the relevant categories that I found used in the articles of other sw pieces ... I think the article is now more or less useful for new entrants to Bitcoin, who don't have a good reading comprehension in English... That could include my mom. Smiley

I looked at your translation and it seems it's a literal translation from the english article. I did the same thing - it would be very much a difficult task to create an altogether new version. But I can't judge the quality of your translation since I only speak swedish Smiley

let's wait and see if there are still any bounties available ...

Actual work in progress: http://it.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bitcoin
I plan to complete it soon.

Of course tips are very welcome  Cheesy

I would also like to know whether the bounty is still running. I'd be happy to make an Afrikaans version.

No idea whether or not there's anybody paying bounties for translations anymore. I did a finnish translation two weeks ago, but haven't seen any bounty. But for me, it's more important to do my own contribution to the common good (i.e. spread the bitcoin gospel Smiley and an actual bounty would just be the icing on the cake Smiley

just my 0.02 cents.
