Stupidity is not the basis of being poverty. You are just a fool if you do not make a way to succeed. stupidity is just a habit. everyone has that habit. but it depends on where you use it. you just don't use that to enrich and crush people.

There are a lot of stupid rich people and stupid successful people, it's not confined to being poor, stupidity for me is doing the wrong move when it is so obvious that what you are going to do is wrong in everybody's eyes, it's like being selfish.

this is mean stupidity not always rellated with knowledge in any field.in my around there are many people that have no good education in formal school could be rich man.if we rellated stupidity with education in my opinion its totally wrong.but if like you said above i think its true.many educate people but make basic mistake although obviously they know this is wrong/ mistakes.

Just found this thread, it's old but I'm gonna reply anyway. Stupidity may cause  poverty but being smart doesn't automatically mean you won't be poor. It's multiple factors like your spending habits (how much you get to keep from your paycheck) and financial literacy (whether you know how to make more money without necessarily working more). I see a lot of educated people in debt or can barely pay bills.

If you've ever read Robert Kiyosaki you'd know his "poor dad" is a professional with a Master's while his "rich dad" seemed to have only got to high-school.

I do know such people as well, and, yes, what the lack is flexibility. They stick to their old knowledge refusing to learn something new in order to get much better salary in some of the developing fields. It's a pity that knowing so much already, they don't want to learn a bit more to fit in some highly paid positions. Like it or not, we are no longer in times when the education you received in young age can be enough for the rest of your life.

That's depending a person, for me, I want to work in a job where I also enjoy and I earn well, I believe that's the dream of every employees.

However, as we work for years, we realize that working alone will not make us financially free, that's why we try to get out of our comfort zone and start a business or venture that we ourselves are managing it, but being financially free and just getting out in poverty is too different, it's easy to get out in poverty as long as we have a sustainable job that could give us employment consistently and we can rely on it for our future, this is actually the government's responsibility since people will definitely work when there's an available job, the government responsibility is to create jobs.

ignorance is the beginning of poverty, and therefore the government allocates large funds to fight ignorance. we cannot do much with ignorance, and tend to be easily fooled. at least we must have one skill that can be sold, so that it becomes our provision to make money. for example an athlete, he can make money from his expertise, even though he is not good at anything else

Your skills will give the opportunities to be compensated, it's true that stupidity will lead you to nothing so you needed to bring something good out from your own if you able to find the best thing inside you the chance is very big to make your life easier might not be too wealthy but you'll not stuck to poverty instead you can build good directions and live a life with better financial stability.

No, if you are a poor person, that does not mean you are stupid or something. There are people who were able to finish their degrees but still does not get a good pay because of greedy people and there are people that does not get any opportunities to have a job. People in the upper bracket should change that way of thinking.

Depending on which country you live, if the government is corrupt, it's expected the poverty rate is high, and usually those who are smart will benefit on this as they can use the situation to monopolize employment by giving people a poor salary and these poor people due to big competition has no choice but to accept the offer even if they know they are underpaid.

They benefit not because they are smart, but because they belong to the corrupt government or related to it. In such countries if you are a smart businessman, you go to jail because of a fabricated case against you. That's why it's unfair to call someone from such a country stupid when he/she is not successful in business. Living in a country with corrupt government, you basically have two options, either stay poor or go to jail. So, I wouldn't call stupid those who have opted for the former.

That is true but if you want to stay poor, then that is stupidity.

That is absolutely right. With modern technology, things are being upgraded very quickly and those who do not grasp the trend will soon be poor.

Not necessarily, we don't know what they have been through. People who are born poor is a disadvantage in terms of learning but still it depends on the person or in the situation on how are they be able to change it. Like the kind of person being dependent at its finest? Or like the one who already forgot the reality and just stucked on daydreaming? Yes! They do exist and usually the first type. I have a relative of mine who is blessed compare to other but choose to ruin it. His educational expenses was covered by my grandfather, his food and shelter is no longer a problem too but you know what he did? He choose his peers over all of tbis blessings (which are bad influencers) and end up as a factory worker. How funny to think that he is now aiming to become rich but wasted such once in a lifetime chance to cultivate yourself amd become a successful professional . What a shame.

Education is what they need the most, no doubt about that. And I agree with you that in some countries you can't get a good job without right connections even if you are skilled and educated. But this situation is changing with time, day by day. Firstly, there are more and more opportunities of finding a good job via the Internet. Secondly, no economy can survive for a long time without fair competition, so those governments are basically doomed.

Yes, but poor people are not involved here we speak about the stupid people. Stupid will make us poverty because stupidity is just making nonsense and un approachable behavior that will make people a bad image that will make his life down.

Stupidity is not the main factor why people are close to poverty, because there are people who are stupid still they are rich. The main factor is the laziness and lacking of will to stop the poverty that they are experiencing. Most of the people think that if they are poor they will die poor, but if they do their job and study very well I think they can stop poverty on themselves.
Every people have their own weaknesses just like laziness and lossing the will to live.

In my own point of view, we cannot blame those people who have been experiencing poverty that they are poor, and we should not call them stupid because stupidity is lack of common sense which poor people still have their common sense. I think the reason why people are experiencing poverty because of laziness, corruption, discrimination, and etc, so stupidity don't have any connection for making a person poor.

There have been lots of cases where people have proven your statement wrong. I'm sure you've heard the common story of dirt poor individuals who become rich entrepreneurs through perseverance, hard work, and even a bit of luck. It is just ignorant to say that poor people are stupid.
