EDIT:

signed BTC address pmed to Cyrus according to the rules given by thymos.
Please act swiftly, as verifying a BTC address take less than a minute!
Now it was also pmed to thymos

I specified 2 addresses in total before getting hacked, a signed message for each is below. Will be very thankful for a swift action!

This is something I have posted on anther topic. This will be useful for you too
First thing you do is - Lock the account. The hacker will not be able to use it.
2nd - read this topic: Recovering hacked accounts or accounts with lost passwords
3rd - Confirm this is your main account: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=803144
If yes, then on the OP include the link so that the mod / admin do not need to look for it. Save some of their time.

.
.
.
.
nth step - after done with the 2nd step all you can do is wait patiently. (Assuming you will send one of the admin the signed message then  you will update the OP with your main URL link and signed BTC address)
Once you update the OP then keep bumping it every 24 hours for visibility.

Be happy be at peace. Looking forward to BTC at $1M

thanks for that but as you see i have never associated a BTC address to my account since i never planned to get hacked and didnt know this is the only/best way to recover it. nevertheless i associated telegram and discord accounts and i even have people on skype who can vouch for me...
what would be my next steps then?

No one gets a planned hack  Smiley
Anyway, if you do not have any bitcoin address posted from your main account then I am afraid you are out of options. Telegram or discord or any other media is not going to prove your ownership in here. Sorry mate, good luck.

Be happy be at peace. Looking forward to BTC at $1M

---snip---
a quick search on your post history, I found these two posts with btc address in them
they're not explicitly posted as staked addresses, but it shows that you control those addresses
it's a long shot but maybe admins and mods may take it into consideration
can you sign message with any of them?

Yes I still keep all of my addresses  and wallets intact- i believe. will come back from my vacation and will make sure i can sign a message from them, since currently i have only my secondary laptop with me. the question is how do i make an admin to approve it?

That's a damn shame, you did a good job of asking all the right questions in the hardware sections. Unfortunately it takes a crazy long time right now to recover accounts, I want to say some are upwards of 6 months I'm not even sure the last one that was recovered.

I also left a negative feedback on the account until it is back in your possession. It's untrusted but hopefully some DT members will do the same until you get the account back

Best of luck

why on earth would you leave a negative feedback for a locked account?? it seems you are only trying to up your post count with this reply of yours. please remove that feedback.

Sorry my mistake in leaving the Neg, didn't think about the locked part...

In regards to post count, I don't need to worry about upping it. I actually felt bad; for a minute.

Good luck

Edit: Not that it would have mattered as I said I would remove it once you had control of it again.

its easy to give a bad feedback. its harder to remove it Cheesy

either way, i was wondering, why are you saying its really hard and takes upto 6 months to get the account unlocked currently?

Just from what I've seen around the meta section the last few months.

You'll see a lot of users who've signed the message and done all that is asked have waited that long, if not longer.

I know you sell gear through the hardware section, so in the meantime you might want to start switching over to using this as your main account for the time being

I got back from my vacation yesterday. Now, I have found both of them and signed them both. I will then try to recover it using the method suggested earlier. Thanks.

I can understand the reasoning. Might I suggest instead just buying the copper membership.

Despite not being against the forum rules, trying to buy accounts will get you red tagged by DT. This includes the new account should someone make the connection.

When anything comes up you can reference your locked account and continue to use the same signed message as  a link.

Good luck

bump.

all relevant info- signed messages were pmed to both hilariousandco and Cyrus.

It takes less than a minute to verify a BTC address. so I hope and urge the admins to handle this matter swiftly.

cyrus/theymos probably receive hundreds of messages per day. cyrus has previously stated that account recoveries can be quite complex, and require a lot of investigation. There's currently a huge backlog, and you'll likely be waiting longer.

then they should hire more personal to handle this. Afterall i have paid some hard earned money to get this retarded evil fee removed- why did I have to pay it? no idea, I have done nothing wrong. and the only reason I paid was to be able to get my account unblocked. basically if they know it takes months to do that, they they shouldnt charge anything at all.

It's an option, and I believe some members of the community have offered their support. Its all down to theymos though whether he wants to make this a higher priority than it is now, and trusts certain members to carry out the job. The account has been banned though.

what are you talking about? it was locked. I have locked it down myself within 10 minutes after it was hacked. why are you saying it is banned?

and just to  stress my point here, i am not ok with taking money and providing zero service in exchange.
