It seems to now be at 1,000 as the new goal, so anyone who didn't vote, now can.

Phinneus, you too!

Looks like its at 626 votes now.

whenever it reaches goal, it bumps up?

This dude needs to wake up and watch out. When Gox goes under, which is inevitable, there will be people who are sufficiently angry at him and will proceed to arrange for him to sleep with the fishes.

the whole foundation should be abandoned all together.

there is no real leadership there.

nothing but crooks and clowns.

when i first checked out the foundation, all i seen was 'pay us this' and 'pay us that'
a bit like the NUJ, pay them money and they will continue to do fuck all for you.

careful there is probably a 'heresy and treason' clause in the TOS of this site, of course I didn't read it but you know there's always the 'we reserve the right to change the rules without notice' clause

notwithstanding any group could organize another Bitcoin foundation if the wish

You are very wise.  Yes, this site is known to delete or remove your post if you are critical of MTGOX.

again, I will reiterate;
Children feel the need to play in groups, where adults are content to observe.
let them play, until they grow up, it's just another pointless club.

quote from an updated article in The Wall St. Journal

http://online.wsj.com/article/BT-CO-20140217-704805.html

"In the email interview, Mr. Karpelès responded to questions about the company's solvency or protection for customers' funds by saying that the matter is confidential. However, he said the company had discussed its business model with Japanese authorities "to ensure that we are operating within the law here."

Confidential? BS.  Customers deserve to know if their funds are secure.

"Sorry, sir, I can't tell you if you're about to get screwed.  That's confidential.  Where did all that money go?  Well, you guessed it, that's confidential too.  No, Mr. Karpeles can't be reached for comment right now as he's busy burning data, and burying mason jars out behind the building, but he will take your call in the order in which he decides it may help him, please hold." ::queue elevator music::

The answer to those questions is pretty simple. Yes, we're solvent, yes our customers have protection.

If he had the right answers, he'd be giving them. As soon as the legal shuck and jive starts you know it's trouble coming.

if you read the writing on the wall, if you read between the line, if you read the body language, if you read the charts, if you read btc forum posts, if you read media message it alllllll says the same thing -- Mt. Gox is in trouble.

Only Mt. Gox loyalist ask, and want you to be patient because they know that with time and a sharp surge in the market $800+ they will be able to kick start Mt Gox back into action.

People are STILL (TODAY) buying btc at Mt.Gox because the temptation is too great, the prospect of a $300 btc, that you can "soon" squeeze $600 - $800 out of is just too much to pass up regardless of all of the clear indications that it won't happen, much less anytime "soon".

It's very odd too because they do have a conflict of interest, but not for him, weird

Then they have lost my support and hopefully many others support.

I second this motion. Mark Karpeles needs to be removed from the Bitcoin Foundation. The longer he is on it, the more that it is a sham. Maybe he is giving them kickbacks.

Its a corrupt organsations has this proves it I used to support these and have actually donated but this is just terrible that they won't even make a reply to this.

Guys.. Dont stress, I have a feeling something bad will happen to Mark in the coming weeks or months that will permanently take him out of the bitcoin ball game. He screwed over a bunch of nasty people and they will come for him.

P.s.

This is not a personal threat against mark, I have lost nothing due to Mark's stupidity.

This guy has to go.  Just look at him for starters.  Then look at Gox's actions.  Gox is basically single handedly destroying Bitcoin.  THe negative press and Gox crashing prices are happening, and it's like they don't care, they just send a stupid stalling press release.  And they say "Mtgox Team" at the end of the letter, so Mark can avoid responsibility.
