Well in 2013 bitcoin just scratched the surface of mainstream adoption and hit $1000 so if it continues to rise in popularity raising to $5000 shouldn't be a problem. Especially considering it raised with 10 000% during 2013 alone.
So yeah, I believe it should go over $5000 this year. You?

Slow start to the year, but anything can happen.
That being said, I thought that even during last year's $1200 tsunami, that $5000 was still a long ways away. I expect the price to recover and even grow beyond last year's ATH, but $5000 per BTC in 2014 is a long-shot.
