Please don't run it.. its a virus for sure, they're trying to capitalise off the name:

https://twitter.com/stacycoin/status/434532828902989824

I'm the @stacycoin original dev.. Please help me and report this thread to admins.. Its 03:43 AM here and I need to sleep Sad

Where's StacyCoin if you're 'the dev'? The Coin's here.

A Virus? You must be kidding, it's the official darkcoin miner which StacyCoin's algo uses. You don't seem to be a developer since you clearly didn't analyze the files and merely post senseless fud. Check Darkcoin thread for 100% same minerd files (same repo even).

Trying to derail the smooth launch and flawlessly working assets won't help. Be well and welcome to the world of decentralized cryptocurrency.

Ps. Calling StacyCoin name-trolling is funny - the smoothly working coin is right here in front of your eyes. Sources and binaries available for anyone to analyze.

When I uploaded the Windows-Qt zip to Virus Total I got 0/50. Can someone please confirm? Some posted a 23/50 earlier...

I ran minerd through Virus Total and I got 24/49.  I'm not sure if that's just minerd setting off alarm bells everywhere it goes though.

While I don't dispute the fact that they're not the true StacyCoin devs, I don't think their version of the miner is a virus only because I ran Quark's 64bit version of minerd through Virus Total and got almost the same results.  Having said that, I'm taking steps to make sure I don't get burned just in case.

Hm, well, I didn't download any of the standalone miners - just the wallet. Either this a

1) purely a troll release
2) something malicious somewhere (Windows-Qt.zip came back clean through, don't know about other files)
3) total confusion, maybe a dev though Stacy was just actively looking for someone to develop and release a coin

Definitely odd considering everything worked right away. The wallet loaded. It connected to the network and updated very quickly. And it solo mined, and I even found a block, which was shortly confirmed after. Someone sent me a donation too so transactions were working.

Such odd. So confusion.

Yop this is official name-trolling (with the objective of getting your wallets I assume!!)

Don't trust virus checks anyway man.. polymorphic code generators work very well!

Trust me anyone can make undetectable virii by watching tutorials youtube.. EG
  http://dl.packetstormsecurity.net/papers/attack/metasploit-lowlevel.pdf

I can confirm that its 100% not a dev from Team Stacy (@stacycoin on twitter / tracycoin.com ), I'm the only one with the current source and this is entirely fake whatever it is.

I have a very bad feeling they're busy emptying wallet.dat's... :-(

Anyone can have public source code dude. I can confirm my code's been in git-hub for almost 5 days now I believe.

If this is what you consider a fair/smooth release without even an announcement you're in the wrong business surely?

Please answer me why you've trolled the name, and why you've lied about having Stacy's permission.
We have a team actively working with her on developing the Real StacyCoin

Once again for reference (in case you're confused by this whole community thing)

Its not a wallet stealer. This is a legit coin, well sort of. Everyone knows this is not the real StacyCoin, yet it is. Since its first.  Wink

Its kind of funny really, seeing all these ANNs being posted and then someone else launching a coin with exact same name and ticker beforehand. My guess is its bitcoin guys sick of this site getting ddosed during the launch of announced coins. Maybe that last 2.5 hours of being offline becuase of a failed Maxcoin launch was the tipping point for this individual.

This coin seems legitimate as a valid cryptocoin.

There has however been work between Stacy Herbert (the namesake of this coin - also in the logo) and a group of developers as detailed above to create a Stacycoin sanctioned by her.

I recommend to this coin's developer to rename the coin if he or she wishes to see it continue as a respected altcoin. If you choose not to the backlash will be endless, and your coin be forever have a tarnished reputation.

We've received donations and are setting up bounties accordingly.

First three working & stable pools will be awarded.  Send a message over to claim your rewards, dear pool operators!  Furthermore there are two additional bounties for logo design/refinement as well as a faucet available.  Get in touch.  More bounties to follow.

Are you keeping the name?  I mean you're effectively behind a successful launch.  You might as well go with it.  I was pretty surprised at how smoothly it went to tell you the truth.

this is the real stacy coin................... after what happened with maxcoin who says we should wait for them to set the parameters and algos to suit themselves and the dev team.

After the max release with no qt for windows i'm shocked more people didn't pull out to the anti max coin, although i would have called it fair keiser or fair max since i'm not sure keiser himself cared about financial reward, i'm sure he has enough.....but the dev team for that coin screwed everyone else.

so although i don't care much for this algo i say this time let's just roll with the stacy coin that comes first like we should have done with the max keiser coin that came first.

This isnt the original announced stacy herbert coin right?

Welcome at the real deal.  Great launches come out of the blue — giving power to the people not the whales.

Files will be posted EXACTLY 20:15 EST.

Are you the one behind https://twitter.com/stacycoin this twitter account?

As a member of the real StacyCoin project team, I will echo the sentiments that this StacyCoin is NOT the altcoin endorsed by Stacy Herbert. Our team is actively working with Stacy, and I doubt she will approve of this coin using her likeness without her permission (and within a barfy pink logo no less.) Mining this coin only supports the blatant trolling of reputable people like Max and Stacy.
