Bitcoin is a huge thing to wrap one's mind about. You need to at least tell them what Bitcoin is, how to use it and what they can do with it, complete with the relevant links.

In this case they had heard of it and had been following it.  They indicated that if they decided
they wanted to accept donations they would likely use Bitcoins, but it didn't seem that they wanted to take donations yet.

Just ask the creator of Last.fm free music player (http://chrome-music.tumblr.com/) to accept bitcoin donations.

P.S. This app is a must-have for last.fm if you are not in US or Germany

I'm working on getting the guy who runs the Center for Torture Accountabiilty to accept Bitcoin for this site.  This is a great organization that is working for accountability:

The Center for Torture Accountability is dedicated to ending the culture of impunity that enables and nourishes all systems of torture.

Currently, our primary project is the Torture Accountability Archives -- a careful and comprehensive documentation of the people and organizations that created and justified the Bush administration's torture regime.

Once we complete the archives, we will explore options for action, toward the goal of holding accountable those who have committed crimes against humanity. We will not give up.

One day, justice.

I have an online shop at www.kosimesnatno.cz www.mowingwithease.com and have convinced my wife to accept bitcoins... does this count ? for the bonus

We are running zen-cart, so I've installed the modules but am having problems understanding how to configure this... i.e setting up the rpc server info etc, our zen-cart is hosted on a paid hosting site. Can anyone help me with this/point me where to find more info?

Declaring my targets....

I am going to offer my services in the form of building bitcoin accepting websites for free to a few local business starting with the skateboard shop and card shop.  I don't see either of these markets currently represented so hopefully I can add some selection for bitcoin shoppers.

I think F4C3 is the one maintaining the Zen-cart module, he's probably the one to ask. You can send him a PM.

Just contacted the reddit admins about it to see if they'll use it for reddit gold. They're not a big "store" per se, but they're a HUGE community so I think it would be a big step.

See this thread: http://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=8034.msg117169#msg117169

I would love to accept bitcoin for my business as a call-out computer technician but anyone that knows enough to know about bitcoin probably also knows enough to fix their own computer Wink

http://www.aptitudetech.com.au/

Still you never know it could be that someone needs a guy in Perth, Australia to do a job they can't get to because they are a plane trip away.

Also my wiki Rejuvepedia (http://www.rejuvepedia.org) accepts bitcoin donations but I haven't received any for it yet!

The other thing is that Rejuvepedia (as well as my other websites) is hosted on nearlyfreespeech and at the moment I need to fund my account using paypal. If they could accept bitcoin that would be awesome Smiley

I just discovered Bitcoins and would really like to add them as a payment option for my Tie T-shirts – Formalitees Tie Tees
We're all about taking power back from bankers & politicians... so I love the concept of decentralizing and ignoring them altogether Smiley

It might take a little while to figure out how to fully implement this on my Magento-based store... Has anybody done that yet?
In the meantime, what would be the simplest way to get this going; just through email?

The cosmonaut (http://www.thecosmonaut.org/) is a project for a movie that is being crowdsourced. I tweeted them, about accepting BTC, and so can you. There's a nice trailer on the website.

Feel free to go for these (and take the bounty):

www.adafruit.com
www.liquidware.com
evilmadscience.com
shop.moderndevice.com
www.pieterfloris.nl/shop/
www.oomlout.co.uk
www.solarbotics.com

I've had no luck, but I think the that getting the open source hardware community involved would be awesome.

Good luck.
