Wow, you have a website selling bitcoin tshirts, and posting in a BTC thread about getting websites on board, and YOU don't even accept BTC for payment?  Seriously?

Why would I get my major websites involved? Why if I am wrong and the govt goes on a federal crackdown on all Internet sites that took the payments (Some Of my ventures I have invested hundreds of man hours and hundreds of dollars into) , why would I want one of the ventures that I have worked so hard for getting caught in a massive crack down. For you to say that a business isn't risking anything by having them up now isn't 100% truthful. Till we get a major company on board, no one is safe when excepting the coins. Thats why the market is so unstable now, there needs to be more positive news from the gov't than what we have been getting. Sure an anarchists dream is for bitcoins to ultimately shut down the government, but hell I like running water, cops when there's a bulgary, and firemen when theres a fire. I really don't get libertarians and anarchist...

But yeah my tee-shirt business, and anything else that i post here will be strictly bitcoin oriented... till we either get more support from the government/ or even the community itself. The community is fighting itself right now, and it was to be expected. 80 percent of the people on these boards don't know about half the shit they talk about. And the other 20 percent are simply overwhelmed with the amount of people that has been coming in since press started hitting it hard.

Nice dodge.  I think Palin is hiring.

Selling Bitcoin Awareness tshirts and not accepting BTC is like selling cigarettes to raise lung cancer awareness.

Do you really think the US Gov is going to crack down on somebody selling 3 tshirts a year or whatever?  C'mon... be realistic.

The websites that i have get thousands of hits a month. I am not selling tee shirts on the sites, and if I were to accept bitcoins i guess it would have to be as donations, or (premium memberships) in my website.

Yes my shit is that big... and maybe in the future when I get comfortable with the community I will start pushing them hard on my site for FREE. But right now that simply can't be done. There is not enough unity in this community! Every other posts is a troll spam thread, of monkeys trying to play HYIP with a medium that they know nothing about. They are the ones destabilizing our markets, and we need to vanquish them.

They are like a cancer, and we needed kemo weeks ago. They don't understand the system, and drive fears up to unnecessary levels, to new-comers who know nothing about the currency. How can anyone feel comfortable releasing their private businesses that they have worked so hard for, when every other post is either someone begging for money, someone trying to drive up the market, or someone panicking about how the entire system is going to collapse.

Lets get real and fix the problem so this community can flourish, and people like me aren't scared to post the shit they they (in some cases) have dedicated their lives to...

Last thing we need is another negative P.R campaign, to artificially drive the prices up, and make it drop even harder next time. We already have another monkey idiot starting another illegal drug exchange in the forum. Where the fuck are the mods? Excuse my language but this seriously pisses me off.

I have to disagree with you there.  While I'm not in the market to buy drugs, especially online, the whole idea of BitCoin is about it being decentralized and not run by authorities.  Even negative publicity is publicity.

I agree about the trolls though... Part of the problem with free speech is people get to say what they want.  Let the trolls have their fun with their tiny penises in their mothers' basements.

It hurts our investment, because serious people, looking to invest serious money, will come to this forum, and think its a JOKE. Think about that for one second bro. Ideas are not only viral, but can also be toxic. All it takes is one serious person coming over hear because of word of mouth (Someone who owns a huge company for example) and sees half these posts being BUY BUY BUY , SELL SELL SELL. And than the other half of the posts people begging for money. All it takes him calling 10 of his friends who he could of easily gotten to introduce their businesses into, to simply say "It's a joke". Simply put a game for kids. If we want to stop being a game, we all have to act like serious adults for once. We have to be BETTER than everyone else, because thats honestly what it will take for this currency to hit mainstream. If you don't take it seriously, and we don't take it seriously, how in the HOLY HELL are we going to expect random nontechnical people to take it seriously?

SERIOUSLY THINK ABOUT IT. OUR WORDS MATTER.....

Do we want to be seen as a community of fully enlightened individuals, or do we want to be seen as scamming CLOWNS?

Let's suppose what you're saying is true.

Let's suppose you're serious about the concept of BTC.

Let's say I'm you.

"I want to be involved with an unregulated, anonymous, decentralized currency.  I want to be involved in community discussions in the same manner.  However, I want the moderators to delete posts I don't agree with, and I want to limit what types of businesses can be dealt with."

Do you realize how schizophrenic that sounds?

Now for the next part:

"It's smart to be involved in BTC.  Smart people will see the value.  However, people will see a trolls first post on this board and be scared away."

If you want the types of businesses limited, and the types of discussion regulated, you really shouldn't be involved in BTC at all; you've missed the entire concept.

Be fearful when others are greedy, and greedy when others are fearful.

If life were as simple as you made it seem things would be so much better. You have the type of ideology that the world is either black or white. There is no middle road. I want the moderators to delete posts that are either obvious spam,or scams. Why is that so hard ? And I actually came up with a voting system so that it can be democratic.. it would take 5 mins and a simple SMF mod to install.. http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?mod=1890

Theres no such thing as a "partially decentralized" or "partially anonymous" or "partially digital currency" - some things really ARE black or white.  You get the right to just ignore the posts, just like everybody else does.  They sink to the bottom until people respond.  AKA "Feeding the Trolls"

I'm not one to feed the trolls. But please understand your reasons for being into bitcoins may not be the same reasons why others are getting into it. Maybe the fact that Garzik came out and said that transaction really are traceable, will kill the idea that this is going to be some super underground, network. Garzik really let the rabbit out of the hat when he said that during the Yahoo interview. If you think that bitcoins aren't already working with the government, than you are a fool.. It has been hinted out multiple times, and like I said I will make the epic post tonight, so pay attention, than you can rebuttal me all night Smiley.

Tracable?  I'm pretty sure its RUN by the government.  I think we're all getting paid BTC to hash out Bin Laden's secret computer porn stash or whatever the fuck right now.  Who else would be interested in computing power better than the top 500 supercomputers combined?

Well, had you said it first, and I said "I agree", I would be agreeing with you.

But as I said in my other post that someone has already beat us both to, if the pay is the same, I don't really care.  Once Google becomes self-aware, we're all fucked anyway.

Terminator reference.  But like I said, I don't really care who the computing power is going to as long as I'm getting paid.  They don't need that much computing power to look into anything the normal person does.

I'm not sure how sarcastic this is... But you do know that the Bitcoin client and the mining programs are open source, and you can look at it to see what they're doing? And that they do exactly what they claim - Hashing block headers to provide proof-of-work for verifying a specific Bitcoin transaction timeline?

Semi sarcastic.  I know its open source... until its compiled.  And who's to say they couldn't create a client to feed their blocks in or something?  Who knows.  My point is as long as the money spends, I don't really care Smiley
