https://news.bitcoin.com/costa-rican-workers-can-be-legally-paid-in-cryptocurrency/

In this article we can read that a new breakthrough in bitcoin economy is realized. We are always talking in this forum of the possibility of workers being paid in bitcoin or in any form of cryptocurrency. Finally the government of Costa Rica is now on the move of making that dream a reality by legalizing cryptocurrency as part of the salary of the workers.

The real question is, if this trend will become successful in long term or will not last long?

there is some problems with this. mainly it depends on the views of the government about cryptocurrencies, if they see them as commodities, etc. then there will be some taxation problems involved but if they see it as a currency then things will be a lot easier when getting paid in them but the problem is only bitcoin is a currency not all the rest!
additionally there is no point getting paid in something that is hugely volatile and i am not talking about bitcoin, but the altcoins that also happen to be manipulated too. and as long as you can't spend it (no place accepts them as payment) there is no point getting paid in it.

Wow this is great nice to here this news. I hope someday cryptocurrency will be accepted all over the world. Because some of the countries don't recognize it yet. But because of this article there's a chance that crypto will be accepted to all soon. And I want to be paid in cryptocurrency too.

It will be a good thing as long as the cryptocurrency grows. Depending on what it is and what it will be used for the cryptocurrency may have no use. On the other hand, if they are getting paid in something like Ethereum or Ripple then there will be immense value in having and transacting with it.

Wow, it makes me happy to hear and read news about Cryptocurrency like this one. If it will continue to be a chance to give people a decent job, then I really believe it would go long-term and hope for it's best success in the future. Indeed, cryptocurrency is really starting to make waves globally and it is such an exciting site to see.

After Japan, Costa Rica started to pay workers using bitcoin. I think that's very good news, especially if workers can get back to trade the bitcoin they have on some exchangers so they will get another benefit

this is a very good step taken by the travel state, by paying the workers with my crypto currency will be very profitable for the future, and I strongly believe that this will take place in the long term.

This is not the first time a government allowed employers to pay their employees with Bitcoin or cryptocurrency, actually it is already happening is some other countries like japan. But this is a great news for workers from costa rica, since they can soon choose to receive part of their salaries in cryptocurrency. Hopefully, other governments will also implement this, and if the same thing will happen from other countries that made cryptocurrency legal, the demand on cryptocurrencies will surely increase drastically. I don't see any reason for this to not last long because receiving a cryptocurrency is also the same as receiving fiat as payment or salary, and it also has a value.

That's a good news for Costa Rica. Together with this, workers have to take risks. Because Bitcoin's development is unstable. No one can predict the time it goes up and down

I think paying with Crypto is not a trend. Because the business owner is holding a lot of USDT on the exchange and they just want to transfer the money quickly without spending time.
Crypto payment is probably a new thing but it will not be a trend. Because there are relatively few countries involved in this market.

This is actually revolutionary the payment ecosystem and will actually entrench the anonymity of bitcoin itself. Congrats to the Costa Rican Workers

This only shows that Costa Rican government has very openminded when it comes to crypto we can see here how other countries will react with this adoption by government salute to the government officials of this country, the only question comes to my mind is if Costa rica can make it legal why others cannot? Maybe this government is transparent to its people unlike others.

Wow this is one great news, costa rica is one big country and if they will really implement this big amount of cryptocurrency will circulate day by day,and this may become another example for other countries to try using crypto than fiats for labor.

And what you have seen is big question, that if this may long last or just in a short period

It may be a good thing or bad thing. Good thing is bitcoin will be more popular and thus, some people in Costa Rica will buy bitcoin. The bad thing is when the price of bitcoin is down, workers may suffer some losses because bitcoin is hold from their salary.

Great move by Costa Rican government, making cryptocurrency legal is our dream of course but still there are some places have no final decision about cryptos but for sure they will follow the same footstep as Costa Rican government did. My only concern with this is that, the volatility is very high and they might receive a lower value that is not enough to sustain for their needs everyday, there's still a risk on this platform hope everyone is ready for that.

Costa Rica is very good at implementing a payment system using Bitcoin, as other countries do the same but some companies in every country, it would be nice if the government did not make a messy situation where they mostly always wanted to ban the spread of cryptocurrency reasoned price fluctuated high risk, or is it clear to recommend always using fiat as a means of payment, perhaps to make it easier to apply taxation? it may be dirty like corruption because the fiat is so easy, it will all run long and smoothly if there is alignment between cryptocurrency and local government, because the method of payment using Bitcoin is a good step for the future.

... the government did not make a messy situation where they mostly always wanted to ban the spread of cryptocurrency

don't confuse what you read in the news with what the government of different countries want to do.
the problem is, the bitcoin related news sites has always been so shitty. they just publish nonsense to increase their traffic. and making them exciting like saying a country is banning bitcoin is always a good click-bait thing where people visit and read. but there has always been small truth about any of them.

The establishing of this kind of platforms will take too long because of the lack of education and knowledge in cryptocurrency by some of the people there. They could teach the people so they will learn what is bitcoins and what is cryptocurrency. Via TV shows, Free meeting, and orientations that will teach the people.
