BetKing.io is a blatant scam operated by Dean Nolan

Wow, how so much changes in a year and a half.. I remember when I first started out pen-testing, I submitted a bunch of bugs to Dean, that I found whilst pentesting Betking.io website and he paid in BTC, generally within 24-48 hours of submission, and paid well too. Little does he know I was literally using his website to learn, monetary incentive definitely helps you learn fast.

What a real piece of crap. What a shame.

I cannot see a scenario where betking stays offline too long. It will go back online very soon.

Serial scammer Dean Nolan will probably put it back online and say he "removed" the seed showing scam and will probably give an impossible to believe reason for putting all the funds from the cold wallet on to the hot wallet but will never provide all wallet addresses and bets placed information from the database as it will incriminate himself.

What he will do though is to show investors he is trying (again) to make the website work and will hope to pay investors back but that would a defensive move to put off investors taking legal action against him. At the same time he will try to sell it off and use that money to re-pay investors a portion of their funds but expecting them to take a loss, all the while he will have taken $3+ million from the whole betking scam for his own self.

Many online casino competitors that left betking behind a long time ago and have their own strong user base will be looking at serial scammer Dean Nolan and his betking trash and no doubt having a giggle at how the once mighty betking has fallen so low thanks to the arrogance of its owner. They might feel sorry for investors but probably have no pity for serial scammer Dean Nolan.

I wonder how many other online casino owners are in his Skype list now and even bother to talk to him.

Ok, I've created a bitcointalk account just to post on this thread, and I have a few things to say.

I've been reading this thread for ages, but some of the things stated recently have annoyed me enough to actually post for once.

My story is that I invested a lot in Pocket Rockets back in the day and it did really well. I found the site to be professional and run honestly. When I went to withdraw large amounts of BTC, a lot of which was profit, it withdrew successfully and on time. If it had been an exit scam or something like that, I wouldn't have expected my profits to come back.

When BetKing's ICO came along, which happened not long after the BTC bubble popped, I went back in with maybe 33% of the profit I had made through Pocket Rockets. There were a few changes from BKB to BKT etc, and it is clear that both BKB and BKT never managed to gain any meaningful market value. The big betters who had made Pocket Rockets so profitable had gone.

I saw over this period that Dean worked on many different ideas, but nothing seemed to work. This very forum started and due to JollyGood's constant bumping and perhaps some SEO magic, this forum became one of the top hits for BetKing.io, which has had a real impact on new user traffic.

I previously felt and I still feel that if Dean were a scammer, he would have left long ago. There is nobody helping him, there are only people criticizing him.

I acknowledge that my hoard of BKT and BKB is now worthless. I don't feel too bad about this, because technically this is money is 33% of the profits that Pocket Rockets made for me, so I'm still ahead. The only value it has at this stage is in the obligation that Dean feels to pay everyone back. By that, I mean, my best chance of making any money back from BKT and BKB is through Dean's efforts to make everyone whole. If Dean goes away, I get nothing back. If BKT and BKB are floated again for sale on an exchange, I get nothing. So, although very optimistic, it is in my best interests to take Dean at his word and encourage him to continue to make other sites to try and make everyone whole. In my dealings with him, I've found him to be honest, and I do believe the whole BKT and BKB thing is not malicious, it is just poorly planned, plus some unfortunate luck.

I do feel for the people who invested into BKB or BKT from scratch and did not have the benefit of being involved in Pocket Rockets earlier. Those people have seen their investment pretty much wiped out. Same goes for people who invested more than their profit from Pocket Rockets.

Finally, talking about some of the folks on this forum.

RHavar - You're the reason why I posted. You said in one of your messages that it is scammy that Dean is creating other sites and not telling the investors the names of the sites. Well of course he is!!! If he were to tell everyone the name of the new sites (Which he is using to try and make everyone whole), the moment this forum caught a whiff of the name, they would run it straight into the ground. Of course he is keeping the names secret! Damned if you do and damned if you don't... what, exactly is he meant to do? And don't give me that whole "Dean should pay everyone from the massive hoard of funds he has scammed"... I saw the bankroll at the time, it was nothing like the figures that are being quoted in this thread.

Why are you spending such an extraordinary amount of time and effort running this particular site into the ground? You've won, mate. I don't understand why you are doing this. Is it because you were an investor and lost money? Are you running a competing site? I genuinely want to know what is motivating you to spend so much effort on this campaign.

I will answer your question but will not read your reply because I have added you to my IGNORE list because you seem to have nothing negative to say about serial scammer Dean Nolan yet you (as a newbie) are using the same language the he spouted all along.

My interest in the betking scam started when I saw the ICO thread in 2017. At that time I went to the forum and made numerous posts about it being a scam which would unfold sooner or later. I gave my reasons back then approximately 2 years and 4 months ago. Eventually, in the end betking is dead but not because of an alleged hack/theft but because of serial scammer Dean Nolan wanting to pocket free cash and blaming it on a hack.

I am waiting for solid conclusion from victims of the betking scam to come forward so a plan can be made to sue that imbecile thief serial scammer Dean Nolan. Several victims have been in touch, we are communicating and if we agree a way forward there is no doubt serial scammer Dean Nolan will be interviewed by Scotland Police officers (Sheriff).

I will donate money to help pay for a lawyer and will personally provide any assistance to the victims when their legal team will serve litigation on serial scammer Dean Nolan at his home address but that will only happen after the Police interview him on charges of fraud and in the unlikely circumstances they do not press charges.

This forum and its users are not to blame for the demise of betking. The person to blame for its demise is serial scammer Dean Nolan.

No, I've got negative things to say. I think the BKB/BKT thing was a big mistake. I think it was a bad idea to stop native BTC investment. I think it sucks that anyone who invested into BKB/BKT lost pretty much everything, and I think that is due to some bad decisions from Dean.

JollyGood - You haven't answered my question. What's your motivation for all of this effort? Were you an investor? Do you run a competing site?

I'm not going to get the last word, and I'm okay with that. I do disagree with some of the things you have said above, I want to make that clear. I believe there was poor planning, but I really don't think this was some massive scam or exit scam.

Dean has been bitter for quite a while. He closed BetKing the first time, because he was tired of running it all on his own and dealing with people trying to scam the site all the time. What he should have done, was hire a professional management team!
I guess he got bored after a few months, and wanted to relive his glory days. And the fact that he didn't scam before was the main reason for people to still invest in his ICO. I guess there was no reason to scam when he ran the first version of BetKing: the site made much more profit than house edge (due to a very small number of very unlucky high bets?), and things were going great! It's not difficult to be a honest guy when you earn loads of money.

I warned dean I would create a scam accusation when he didn't honor his promise to buy back BKB tokens, and he told me to do so. So I created [FLAGGED] [scam] BetKing.io broke ICO promise and dropped token value 99%. I hope the $700 was worth it dean!
I don't often create scam accusations, but when I do, I make sure they count!

The reason to continue posting here is to ensure dean can't  scam other clueless people in his next "project". It's quite common for scammers to repeat their money making scams under different names.

In regards to the ICO: I don't know how bitter you can be justifiably about the ICO not working out I suppose it is possible a business just does not succeed. At minimum there is an assumption with an investment like that the money COULD be lost. BUT, where the hell did the money go? you're telling me it takes literally MILLIONS of dollars to keep the domain up and shit? No, I dont think so. Even if he used it to live a great life 200k euros a year, he would still theoretically have MILLIONS left. God knows where it went. Oh wait I know... in his pocket?

I am not sure you completely understand that when Betking went down there were 50 btc on the site in the bankroll plus a lot of other currency. But 50 BTC is 400k. That money had ZERO indication it would be lost. In fact, the site stated we were up 22BTC! You cant find losses in the betting log nor were they updated to show in the bankroll +/-. Then the site domain expires and Dean says "whoops, the money is gone we were hacked". Believable? Not to me either.

I am sorry you may not get your investment back, but the truth is us trashing him here likely does not hurt you. Why? Because Dean is a liar. He is trying to say to me "oh dont you want your investment back? youre hurting your chances by flaming me". This is just a mechanism of fear he is trying to instill. Typical scammer. He tries to scare me by trying to say I wont get my investment back by posting here, but that goes off the assumption that he's honest. He is not honest. It would be better to ensure this guy never touches others money again because then people won't get scammed. Im sorry but your investment...likely gone my friend. The greater good is that Dean's projects never hurt another.

Overall you step back and say... what is more likely? Is it more likely Dean is extremely unlucky or is he just untruthful? At this point, I have concluded untruthful. But that is your call.

I am not sure you completely understand that when Betking went down there were 50 btc on the site in the bankroll plus a lot of other currency. But 50 BTC is 400k. That money had ZERO indication it would be lost. In fact, the site stated we were up 22BTC! You cant find losses in the betting log nor were they updated to show in the bankroll +/-. Then the site domain expires and Dean says "whoops, the money is gone we were hacked". Believable? Not to me either.

I am sorry you may not get your investment back, but the truth is us trashing him here likely does not hurt you. Why? Because Dean is a liar. He is trying to say to me "oh dont you want your investment back? youre hurting your chances by flaming me". This is just a mechanism of fear he is trying to instill. Typical scammer. He tries to scare me by trying to say I wont get my investment back by posting here, but that goes off the assumption that he's honest. He is not honest. It would be better to ensure this guy never touches others money again because then people won't get scammed. Im sorry but your investment...likely gone my friend. The greater good is that Dean's projects never hurt another.

Overall you step back and say... what is more likely? Is it more likely Dean is extremely unlucky or is he just untruthful? At this point, I have concluded untruthful. But that is your call.

What I can say and suggest for you is start over all again, with assumption that bankroll did not go anywhere and did not get rekted from trades or gambling as accused you have much more than enough to start everything new, the bank roll is big enough together with knowledge and asset (website codes, operating model) you can easily come up a whole new thing/ new webite and brand (with different identity of course) together with buch of attractive contests it's a sure and far better chance of success rather than keeping betking.io since it's dead already and let it be. So many dice sites are popping up and that's the chance as well as advantage for you since they will and certainly do not have that much bankroll compared to you (again, assume the coins are still there).

It might be not good for me to say so, since it is a kind of giving hand to cheater in people view, but that's the fact. Kill the dead brand and go for a whole new thing is better lol.

The problem is you can't prosecute someone for criminal actions, only the state can. And as Dean has calculated, the chance of prosecution is going to be pretty low. While reporting the crime is a good first step, in the past with similar situations absolutely nothing has come of it.

On the other hand, a civil case is something you can actually do yourself and pretty much guaranteed to win. The burden of proof is much lower, and there's no way Dean's going to waste his scammed funds on a lawyer, he'll just pay out that/those particular people and save himself the trouble.  So the only real issue is just to start a civil case, you need to serve him. I'm not sure about UK law, but generally you need to physically serve the documents to the person. Hence "tracking down" the person to serve them.

(So while it's a great idea, also be very very careful about pre-paying someone online to do it. You don't want to get scammed again...)

I also was not aware of a clone site, but who knows if it even existed? Could just be another confabulation. You bring up a great point on this... the hot wallet was constantly being refilled, how could he not notice these withdrawals. In addition, the bankrolls stated Betking was in the BLACK.

Even if there was a secret "clone site", it shows how hilariously dishonest Dean is. He's basically saying he risked peoples money to run a secret site, that he didn't want to cut them in on.

This is no different than DMF of dice.ninja who used investor/players money to gamble on other casinos (until eventually he epically busted on PrimeDice and lost it all). Then just went totally dark. And offered a few signed messages promising people who was going to make repayments (which he never did, of course).

Amazingly even though his identity was known, because of lack of any prosecution he managed to get away with embezzling millions of dollars. I guess Dean is hoping he can get away with the same fate.

It is rather amusing you say this as I have seen this happen on other dice/crypto gambling site before where another site owner comes on the site and is known by the owner while in the chat.
It is recognized immediately with the amount of the bitcoin they are wagering which is a extreme amount talking about 1 btc per round. And it known it from their own sites bankroll they are gambling with.
While on other crypto gambling site (not your former one) there was a user who had the name theymos and they were doing just this. Betting 1 bitcoin per roll. There were several of the support people saying this was indeed theymos and I even think the site owner mentioned he believes it was him as he had an account opened since the site was unveiled several years ago.
This happened back in July so not to many people remember this happening but I think there was a post about here somewhere. Of course he didnt confirm or deny this was infact them or not. But there was a player who lost and this user transferred to them several bitcoins to inwhich everybody instantly said it was their alt account.
It was a strange day to be on there to say the least.
