Bitcoin pair and Ethereum first in my opinion. Its popular and many traders are using it. BTW don't forget the USDT or the Dollar Tether pair. This three is a good way to start with your new exchange project. Others to follow once this three are establish. This is my opinion btw. |

Welcome to the forums. For crypto pairs I suggest you look at coinmarketcap and see what the top ten coins that is being traded. So you will have a idea as to which crypto-pairs you are going to launch. ( https://coinmarketcap.com/) And then you can move your way up and offer other trading pairs. I hope though that you know that traders are looking for crypto exchange that they can trust and have a good customer support. You need to consider that as well before launching your trading platforms. Goodluck. |

I think that if you are new exchange than you need to possess new users what might be hard knowing that there are more than 100 exchanges. You wont have smaller spread than others You wont have deeper market than others You wont have better reputation than others Thats why noone will daytrade or trade actively on your exchange without masses. And masses wont come to your exchange to exchange eth to btc. Beacause in every possible way there are better exchanges to do it. You need to fallow ICOs and add coins from there. Coins that are nowhere else. Users will have to come to you to trade them. Thats how you will gain new users. Forget about KYC (you will lose 80% on new users instantly - noone want to sen ID to exchange without reputation) and set low as possible bitcoin and etherum withdrawal fees. Launch your token and reward users for trading by it or by holding it. Be creative. It will be hard to possess enought users to gain daytraders and traders. But if you will have them than you can ask what pairs we like to trade. Without masses noone will go trade on exchanges with high spread, shallow market and with no reputation. Welcome to the forums. I personally check out 3 of the major pairs use for trading which are BTC, USD and ETH with all the possible combinations included.
Most of the times people trade on BTC-USD and Altcoin-BTC pairs as it is generally done by most of the crypto traders.
Keeping the other pairs will give the trader more options but make sure not to miss the above pairs with every combinations.

btc and eth are very important as an initial exchange, but I feel doubt about your team's work, the establishment of an exchange platform is very difficult to get large investors without the tesnet platform first, the platform must be perfectly tested and launched Good luck! |

I'm going to assume that you're going to implement coins and tokens only, excluding fiat. Simply start with the trading pairs that has most volume: (BTC-USDT-ETH-BCH-XRP) then move down from there (probably include TUSD). That should keep you busy for a while.

ETH is by far the best trading pair for most currencies because of the speed of getting funds in and out. LTC is even better if you are on an exchange that has a lot of LTC pairs.

In order for your platform to gain popularity as quickly as possible, initially start adding trading pairs BTC and ETH with the new altcoins that are just finishing the ICO stage.

I think BTC is paired with most and widely used, so apart from this I think ETH and LTC should be used as an alternative. And If you could support, I would suggest fiat pairing, which would be better option. |

No doubt you should go with the bitcoin and ethereum. Expect these coins none of the coins can give the best usage experience on your website. Even you listed the multiple coins and tokens, everyone looking to exchange the coin finally into bitcoin or ethereum only.
Henceforth, you can boldly go with this coins.
I recommend you please do not have ripple at any time in your exchange. I really feel shit to have the fund on ripple since it is being promoted and centralized platform.

BTC/ETH and BTC/ with some top tokens, also it would be better if you add some stable coins like tether (first) and also trueusd. Stable coins are important.

i think best pair for now is ETH because the price is more stable for now, and the ETH price is now quite deep than it should be in my opinion, so to use it better because there is a potential increase in the future
for BTC the price is not stable for now but if you want a long-term trade, you can use BTC
|

For the long term, I think BTC is the best pair, using BTC pair to trade while increasing the amount of BTC to collect as much for the pump as the next price because BTC can be used for the long term and obviously the supply will continue to decrease

Indeed pairing crypto with fiat while trading, for me, looks easier to handle. I can calculate easily how much profit or loss I've got when I trade in btc/fiat pair. |

I agree.I still prefer to have bitcoin and ethereum as a good pair.They both create a good profit in the market and knowing that they are the topmost coins in the crypto market,they will never sure to disappoint you.There may be some good altcoins too but they only have less potentials compared to bitcoin and ethereum alone. |

I would prefer bitcoin and litecoin as a pair.
For me, the golden pair has always been ETH and Bitcoin and I have my own reasons and logic behind that. That fact that Bitcoin and ETH is my golden pair in crypto is because both are the top coins in the market. Investing in coins having a big market cap is more secure than investing in the ones having a down position. Besides, Bitcoin is internationally recognized and has a high status just because of its high liquidity and general acceptability. The factor of profitability is another reason why I prefer the pair. |
