The Ethereum became popular mostly because of his ideas and a very strong original community. The activity of the community in the initial stages and revolutionary vision of Vitalik's  has done a great Ethereum now. IMHO

I think you are wrong if you say people stress with BTC decreasing and sell BTC to buy ETH, because now BTC dominance 52.3% and the price of Bitcoin is increasing but Ethereum prices are actually decreasing, and you are right that indeed the ETH is popular now but Bitcoin is more popular than ETH.

no i dont think so, for me the answer is simple, for altcoin need etherium platform is more compatible and more complete feature rather than bitcoin, thats why mostly ico project made etherium platform as their based paying method when they held ico sale event.

I don't think Ethereum is more popular than Bitcoin is. The big investors are always investing in Bitcoin. ICO investors are more into Ethereum because it's the easiest and often type of payment while crowd sale.

Being the main platform for ICOs, Ethereum is bound to alts, so when all projects started exchanging their eth to cash this lead to current catastrophe.
Of course there are traders who convert eth and all other coins to btc at whenever possible (since bitcoin is still the most stable and demanded currency on the market).

I agree with the fact that the fall is due to numerous ICOs, which began to sell the collected ETH and output it to fiat. When the situation with projects is not so deplorable, the ETH will return to its previous price.

Agree and that is the fact, also you do not need to hesitate to put money in this coin because it is 100% secure or trusted coin even the value is volatile still this coin is one of the profitable coin in crypto currency.
