I Speak with Many Gamers many of them love the idea with GamersCoin,but most of them told me Gui-miner is to hard to conf.
Now i write some Easy Installer with auto conf.
From 10 Gamers i setup 8 Miners over Teamviewer.
I cant speak python sry i have try it but fails with python imports ....,then i write some small windows batch to change guiminer conf.
Working :
Auto Paste Gui-Miner Config for Ati or Nvidia.
Works only for default install path on c:\ drive atm.
Update Cuda Miner to last Version : cudaminer-2014-02-28
Add Shortcut + StartMenu + Uninstall

Maybe you can change AppData/poclbm/poclbm_scrypt.ini to guiminer_dir/poclbm_scrypt.ini and recompile it.
