do it..
the source code is in GIT

one problem i think is that so many coins insta-mined at launch...

SHAvite-3 sure looks interesting..

Man, this is just sad. I am currently giving it ~163MH/s and apparently I am the only one left Sad

Do you know what's even more sad? The fact that my blockchain has stalled at 84538 blocks!
I'm (currently) 2 hours behind the latest block, and I can't mine at all until I get there!
The pools also seem to be broken, neither worked for me (stratum error on both).

Couldn't one of us just create an unofficial update with KGW, DGW, or some other difficulty calculation method?
If you did it as an update to Inkcoin, you could revive the coin without the help of the dev!
Of course you'd have to convince NXT-e that this update is legitimate and required...

INK wallet syncs nicely here, I am @ block 84540. I am pointing 180MH/s at INK right now. Let's see if the blockchain moves...

I just got 100 INK in 6 minutes. Solo everything works fine here.

Try these nodes:

Code:
addnode=5.9.158.79:1216
addnode=85.195.83.95:1216
addnode=75.80.7.36:1216
addnode=91.121.149.35:1216
addnode=107.170.9.43:1216
addnode=121.232.193.54:11111
addnode=117.21.227.138:1216

Where else do you get 16 blocks mined straight in consecutive order of height? I don't know if this makes me happy or sad Wink

After quite a few hours, still seems to be at block 84540...

Is it really that hard to do an unofficial update with difficulty recalculation?
Looking through source code to develop my own coin, it only takes 3-5 lines of code.

Well, the update needs
a) to be made. this is more than just 3-5 lines of code. Take a look at DGWv2.
b) pushed to all connected peers somehow. I have 8 active connections. Without addressing people directly you won't be able to keep even this limited amount of connections for your modified version.

I would not exactly say "dead"... Once I stopped mining I noticed I still receive confirmations. 2 confirmations in 7 hours to be precise. Some poor soul is still going strong with a CPU setup I guess...

I am sorry, that was just sarcasm. I still have >200 blocks mined but unconfirmed. If I continued mining it would take ~1 hour until I can start confirming my mined blocks on my own. Waaaay past 51% over here Wink

Nobody knows where the dev is. Look at it from this side: For QuarkBar, the dev is gone and even the Github repository has been taken down. And people are still mining it.

I think its time for a community take over Smiley

Unless the dev wants to come back, update the thread, the wallet and get it listed on other exchanges.

There should be a bounty for tasks as well. I am more than happy to contribute. There arent many good sha-3 coins. People will want it if they knew about it a bit more.

+1
You're willing to contribute as a dev? If so, what changes will you implement? What retargeting logic would you choose, or maybe we could all discuss it here if you like.

P.S.: I don't have the time to engage more in such an endeavour but I could help with a pool at least.

I dont believe its a one man mission though i would like to see the following:

- First thing we need to do is update the thread. Can we get access to it? else we can create a new thread.

- Secondly we need to update the coin and perhaps implement either DGW2 or digishiled depending on compatibility.

- New wallets and image brought to this coin.

All of above can be done in a matter of days if we can get the right people together. Anyone here can compile wallets etc..?

I can start a pool for it though i am not sure how many people would jump on unless we create some hype. I have another sha-3 pool so it wont be an issue to do so. Not sure if everyone else is feeling it but i think the above is a good start.

The new thread should list bounties for different things required. I mean right now is the best time to collect some INK and hand them out for bounties. Just my thoughts Smiley

I would be interested in adopting DGWv2 for retargting. I am, however, unwilling to produce just another crapcoin when I fuck up. INK deserves better.
I have tried and come to the conclusion that, although my patch was working, it was simply too much copy&paste work for me to be confident about it. I am learning, but someone with more experience will definitely be needed. We need a seasoned C++ coder to guide us.

Next would be to define the roadmap of future development. In order for INK to set itself apart from other altcoins we will need innovative features (*not* talking X11 here).
Simply c&p-ing will not work in the overflowing seas of Altcoinia, at least it won't in the long term.

So I propose to gather the ideas of what INK could become. An integrated lending system would be an interesting idea, integrated exchanges have been done, integrated escrow done by members determined by community vote would be another one that would tightly integrate the community as a whole and not just miners as a prime audience. Also, an integrated optionally usable tumbler system would make the whole thing much more appealing to privacy driven folk. Since tumbling needs some extra transactions this could represent a "premium" service of the network as it is a little more expensive due to multiple transactions' fees.

Hashing algorithms could be switched based on community vote. The actual set of algo choices can always (determined by the network itself) just contain algos that are hard at the current time.

An entropy broker could be built in, distributing and invalidating random seeds on a per-user base for secondary cryptographic applications leveraging tiny amounts of time drift and traffic fluctuation between nodes. Granted, this is a very dangerous idea if done incorrectly...

Transactions that should happen repeatedly could be managed by internal cron-like scheduling (drawback: wallet has to be online all the time) or via negative minting (think reverse POS).

I think trading futures could be done but would make the coin much too attractive to folk that I really could not care less about. Yes, it would certainly lead to a massive influx of fresh fiat into the system. It will at some later point in time crush the coin's value due to widespread speculation and less use as an exchange mode for goods and services. I do not want this to happen to INK.

Hope fully someone with the time, skills and drive to continue this project. As the original developer seems to ditch this like a hoe to the curb. This does have potential.
