This is actually a pretty awesome work/dedication that you've got here @Coin-1, congrats! May I ask, what source of information do you use to bundle up these small, yet conceive reports? I suppose that some data comes from https://bpip.org/ but is there some manual work involved here or most of it is just a report from numerous data sources, some not public available and thus made by you for this project?

In 2018, I created a special application that analyzes all merit transfer transactions and works with the database. I regularly download the weekly published dumps and copy these XZ files containing the raw data to the appropriate directory.

My tool does not use data from "bpip.org" website created by Vod and continued by suchmoon, but sometimes I use this helpful service to manually compare my numbers with the results of other statisticians.

I also use the "banned.txt" file maintained by LoyceV. His great tool monitors the forum modlog every day and spots all recently banned users.

To determine the likely local board of a ranked up member, I manually check his/her message history. I often read the merited posts and almost always find them interesting.

My application automatically creates lists and graphs. After completing the process, the tool saves the resulting TXT and PNG files to the appropriate directory. Then I upload this image to the hosting and edit my posts on the forum. Updating topics consumes some time.

Since I only store the essential data needed to maintain my various statistical threads, my database is not large. It's less than 1 GB.

Congrats to all of them, but the only one I recognize off the top of my head is Poker Player--and I could have sworn I had given him more merits over the last month or two than I did, but I just checked and it wasn't many.  But I'm glad he ranked up, because he deserves it (not saying the others didn't).

Yes, only those members have received enough merits to rank up since the previous log update. As I can see from the graph, the weekly number of the ranked up users is quite variable. The purple line illustrating the number of new Full Members looks straight starting in January 2020. The rest of the lines are more curved.

Yes indeed, I ranked up to Hero a few days ago, it only took 3 years!

I havent been desperate to rank up but it takes dedication and patience,
although I have seen a few members who have ranked many times to Legendary
in the space of 12 months or so, well done to them, they really have waht it takes.

These are not big numbers at all, I would have expected way more ranking up

To be honest, I have never seen such a strange algorithm for determining the winners. The lucky number is usually calculated based on a Bitcoin block hash, not a block number. Anyway, thanks for organizing the giveaways on the forum.

About a month ago, 14 new merit sources were appointed. It seems that the increase in sMerit allocation has already affected on the current situation. I just looked at the chart and noticed a significant spike in the number of the new ranked up members.

Congrats to all the members who managed to rank up in the last 3 weeks!  I think I gave a bunch of merits to a few of them, though I'm not sure if that helped get them to their present rank or is helping them get to their next one.  Either way, they deserve it.  I'm still thinking that for a 3-week period, that's a very small number of members ranking up.  Not sure if merits aren't being distributed efficiently by sources or non-sources or if there's some other problem, but I just get the feeling that there should be a lot more people climbing the ranks.
