As long as I live live I will not sell my Alts at a loss. It is a shame that Bitches are selling: These bitches can’t see 2 years from NOW: Booming! I primarily hold Cardano!
Buying or selling at any time is up to you to decide. Depends on market forecasts! The electronic money market has a big price fluctuation! Consider and invest safely!

But 9%/year if ICON went up to $30 in few years that would be enough for a comfortable life. Even if it could stay at last ATH would be nice enough. But nobody knows.

I think you hold a good coin. Cardano have big community and active developers team. Its good project and i think its worth to hold for long term. People have their own reason why they selling their own alts and i think its free market and anyone can buy or sell their own coin

Good decision. After all why one tends to sell off their coins for peanuts? If you are sure that the market will not collapse and the coins you have been holding will not disappear from the market, you should hold them until they reach the moon. But it will be beneficial if you have good crypto trading knowledge. Holding shit coins for long without observing its consequences is also a bad idea. So be smart and trade smartly.

Selling when price of a coin drops yield only losses for the investor. Holding a coin does not reduce the value of a coin even though the price may be reduced at that point in time. Patiently holding and waiting for the bull market is what will bring profit to the investor. Anyway, not all coins are worth holding and this is why every investor is required to study the coin or project before buying in order not to end up selling for losses.

The one who holds will have the last laugh and will reap good rewards, it's good to see that there are still holders like you for long-term. For sure holding cardano is a great choice because in two years time bullrun may start and hope you can wait and don't sell your altcoins until it comes.

Yeah, hodl strategy is not bad, bought and forget for 5 years. But need to truly sure that your altcoin will be still alive after such a big interval of time. And I think Cardano have such chances to survive.

You really have a very solid determination. You have a point, what you are doing is about patience, trust of your investment and a solid determination to never sell your asset at lost.
There are many reasons why other people sold their assets at loss, either they badly need a money for emergency cases or they are just newbie that didn't know what they are doing and are afraid to loss everything they have invested.
Whether what is the cases, it is very important that we know what we are doing and I salute you as you already know what you are doing. Keep it up and update this thread again once you became successful with your plan as I believe in crypto currencies also. I am pretty sure that you will not end up taking them to the cemetery.

Buying and just holding without a plan to sell is a bad idea. We are investing and putting our money into a specific coin or cryptocurrency because we want to make profit and enjoy that profit. It is best for the investors to have a solid plan to determine what are they going to do after such time of their investing and not just keeping it until you die.

Though there are sea of coins in crypto world, only some of them are legit and having working devs with continued development activity. Keeping those coins for long term would be good.

I'm guessing if you are still holding by the way, you can have the HODL mindset only with good altcoins that you think they will success in some years. If you are holding the average scam coin, then you will not came up with anything. personally your choice, cardano, seems good and I suggest you to keep it up and enjoy profit at the new upcoming ATH

I prefer to sell at a loss than see the value of the coin/token go to cemetery . I slowly unloaded and parked to usdt starting early q2 of 2018 until first week of Nov 2018, then started buying back this January of 2019. Now I hold more tokens/coins now compared to just hodling. To HOLD or SELL at a loss then buy back later is the real battle for each crypto owner. I'm glad I sold and am buying back now.

It depends which type of coins you are holding,if they are scam such as Bitconnect,Centra and etc.you would better forget about them but if you are holding etherium, litecoin, ripple and other top-coins you should hold for a couple of years to sell fhem for good price.

Nice to hear your opinion. Indeed, this approach is now probably becoming the most correct. After all, you never need to sell coins at a low price during the fall of the market. After all, such a panic sale will be very stupid. A smart investor should be able to maintain patience and make the right decisions.

One of the most famous coins that many left to die on local wallets, instead of selling for a pittance was SIGT. In 2017, this coin had a noticeable effect in the field of mining by video cards. Many people believed in the potential, but the result was very poor. Although it should be noted that so far on this coin trades are held on the well-known and solid stock exchange _https://yobit.net/en/trade/SIGT/BTC

I understand your sentiment. I lost most of my portfolio in 2018 because I held all the way down. I think what we need to do is learn better timing in Crypto, when to buy and when to sell and when to hold for the longer term. I found many good projects in Crypto over the years but I either sold too early, like NXT, XEM and Bitcoin Plus or held for too long like COSS, DENT, PUNDI X etc. So NOW am trying to do something different this year so that when the next bull run comes I don't stuff up as I did in January of last year. I hope 2019 will be much better for all of us who stay the course and don't give up.

I have the same opinion back when I started trading but why wouldn't we take advantage of the market to gain more token or coin that we have? I have a friend who did a buy and sell on his bounty reward when he receive it and I couldn't believe it but from 10k token he manage to make it up to 30-40k if I am correct. And when I saw it I change my opinion and started trading.

so what is the new update OP? are you still holding cardano lol. selling your altcoins for loss is actually fine but it is depend on the condition too. if the market condition is not good and bearish then it's better to sell it even with loss, it's better than keep holding with the value that keep dropping.

Since many altcoins I'm holding comes from airdrops and bounties sometimes I just have to let go whenever I need cash for my own use but still I'm still holding to most of them, this is why I carefully choose bounties and airdrops to join and promote to avoid not getting paid in the end

If you have a small amount of altcoins that it is not relevant to you it won't be as emotionally painful as when you hodl let's say tens of thousands of dollars of an altcoin. That could change your perception because those are life changing amounts of money for some people. If you really believe in what a coin promises ( the technology and business model it has) then go for it and hodl for long term. I'm guilty of doing that as well :
