I think you should just stop posting here coz you clearly have no idea what's going on.
Maybe you should report his post to the mods and censor him.  What delicious irony that would be.

Well that's your words and your suggestion - so I take it that's the sort of thing you'd do?
No.  You're complaining that you don't want him to post here, but he's making good points in a thread about how those unnecessary, non-constructive posts got deleted.  Those are the types of posts that get deleted in any other thread.  Seems to me your perception of a good post and of what a problem this forum is having with spam is a wee bit skewed.  Seems to me you'd prefer one-line garbage instead of well-thought out posts and that you're making a huge deal out of absolutely nothing--you're calling for a moderator to be thrown out of his job because he deleted some shitposts in that thread.

The mod is doing his job.  Get a grip on reality.

Edit:  And looking at your trust page, it looks like you've pissed a couple people off by deleting posts.  So there's that.

And the person who created the self-moderated thread is by definition -- the moderator. I can see the 'real mods' getting copies but again, aside from vile egregious and offensive post that the creator of said thread does nothing about then ja. they damn well should step in. Baring that -- hands off.

Query: In a self-moderated thread, when a post is Reported to Moderator, isn't the person who created the thread the one that gets the report and deals with it?

Aside from something pretty egregious why would the regular mods have any input? Do they also get a copy of the reported post?
No, moderators deal with it. I read somewhere that there is an exception to this, where the OP of the wall observer thread, receives reports, only for the posts made on that thread.

Well considering I FIRST PM'd this issue directly to theymos ... and he replied that I should post here about it ... I think you should just stop posting here coz you clearly have no idea what's going on.

Yeah as if Theymos would be personally interested in two deleted shitposts.

It is correct - Meta is for posting these type of issues.

From my experience you are wasting your time and drawing attention to your thread. As I pointed out - may not be the wisest thing to do.

I can give advise but whether you follow that advise is up to you.

It reminds me of a client that was convinced his neighbors were dancing on his roof at night. They would scurry up the downpipe and make a hell of a racket.
I told him that if there were noises it would be vermin or animals. That "people" were not dancing on his roof.
He went to the pub and told his friends - they said that his neighbors must really have it in for him to be dancing on his roof.
This convinced him that his neighbors were dancing on his roof even more and that I was part of that conspiracy.

Theymos didn't want to deal with it so send you here. I gave you valid advice. The only thing I can offer after that is an eye-roll.  Roll Eyes

Yes I do ignore advise from sycophants

Edit: you seem to think I should avoid drawing attention to my thread - the largest on the whole forum - that seems a rather impossible thing to do Smiley

The mods run and post in the threads that do exactly the same thing.

Rather than post "I know what I am talking about I don't need to see what's going on" ... go have a look and find you don't know what you are talking about.

Though you don't need to look, I've already posted that here also ... but you clearly didn't bother to read it.

Oh well ...

Yes I do ignore advise from sycophants

Then a self moderated thread suits you perfectly because you can delete any comments that you disagree with and surround yourself with fawning, flattery and adulation. Unfortunately for you it doesn't work like that in Meta.

EDIT:
,,,and just broke another rule...

Posts in one of the mod's threads over the last 6 days in reverse time order (not deleted Tongue)

It wasn't deleted by -ck.

Nobody is out to get you. The posts looked in isolation like no-content "good project"-type garbage. Many moderators scan all posts as they come in, not looking closely at which threads they belong to. I agree that those posts were sufficiently on-topic when taken in context, especially when posted by non-newbies, and should not have been deleted. Their authors reposted them immediately, so get over it.

Oh thanks Wink

As long as it wasn't frodocooper who deleted the posts - since he is part of -ck's pool also and posts there also.
That's 2 of the 3 people listed as moderators.

Though no idea why gmaxwell would be bothering to delete posts in the pool thread Tongue

It also wasn't fodocooper. I'm very confident that it was just a mistake from a moderator who deletes mountains of trash every day. (I'd also think that it was just a mistake if it had been deleted by frodocooper or -ck, but since it wasn't, you can put your mind doubly at ease...)

Could be any of the Global moderators.

OK thanks - yeah I guess I don't understand the mod access to the forums then.
Since each sub forum lists the mods that manage it - I guess you mean that any mod can still go deleting stuff anywhere.

Oh well next time I'll just tell the parties who had their posts deleted to simply repost them
... and then go on a rampage if the mod deletes them again Cheesy
