I cant speak for quark, keccak,.. i have read a bit about scrypt-Jane and so on but i have to say i dont realy understand why all the coins increase the NFactor and not the rFactor. The N Factor makes Scrypt need more Memory and more Processing Power, its a bit like just reducing the kh/s value. Why not simple increase the rFactor wich only increase the Memory needed. In my Theory that would make it realy hard to make an Asic Couse if you have lets say 1 GByte Memory needed per processing unit, then it would be a question of free Memory and not of parallel Processes anymore. I think there must be a Reason i just dont understand it
But back to the Point of the new Coins. Most new Coins are Pump and Dump. So if the Peoples have there Original to create the new Coins from, its just an easy Process to get the new Coin. Things like Asic resitance and so on are not importand for a Pump and Dump Coin. To get this things in the Coin is only a waste of time for this kind of Coins. But with time more and more Coins will have the new Methods.
