Launch Time Updated: 03/20/2014 ~ 6 PM PST - 8 CST - 9 EST EdisonX3 (Currency Sign: EDISON) The First Historical Based Crypto Currency integrated with Technology that we use in mining today! Thomas Edison is ALIVE again, and will be for the next 1,000 years. Safety of the network is key. Specs (Still in development and up for voting/discussions) + Algo = Scrypt + Max coins = 950,000,000 + Block time = 30 minutes + Difficulty re-targets every block + Block reward = 1922 + Premine: 0.2% + Block reward decreases by 10% every month for the first year. + By the year 3000 block reward will be 50 EDISON's per block. + There will be total of 950,000,000 coins created in 1000 years of mining EdisonX3. EdisonX3 Official Launch Starts in a few days - The First Historical Crypto Currency!EdisonX3 is more secure than Bitcoin. With a 30 minute block time it is the most secure crypto-currency on the market. EdisonX3's block reward starts at 1922, the year he published the proposal. The block reward then reduces by 10% per month for the first 2 years. After 2 years the block reward continues to reduce by 10% but the time between block reward reductions increases and was inspired by the Fibonacci sequence. Edison has its own Open Source (FAIR USE) Technology called the Edison Carbon FilamentThis Technology will revolutionize mining as we know it. The Edison Carbon Filament has its own unique code created to secure the network against security flaws and potential harmful threats for the community. The team spent hours and weeks working on this new difficulty adjustment ALGORITHM to platform stay neat security functions for the next 1,000 years that Edison will be alive for. EdisonX3 is defined as a Crypto Currency using Scrypt Algorithm with new implementation to solve Malleability issues. This is totally not HACKER FREE nor Bullet Proof. The network is setup just to stabilize against possible attacks, aside from double spending *51% attacks* and uncommon exploits created by the coind network. In addition, this will be used as a defense mechanism against large mining farms that out weight community hash power and punishing those who try to "PROFIT SWITCH" or "GAME ALTCOINS". EdisonX3 being spread out for the next 1,000 years, making it long block times for safety against the most recent Malleability Transaction issues (still a big problem for Bitcoin), and now halting the progress of monopolized coin farm strategies. Our new Scrypt Algo (Edison's Carbon Filament) solved the most recent Transaction Malleability issues with Bitcoin and Most Altcoin's today. Edison is back alive; hence the name- EdisonX3 Join the waiting list @ http://www.EdisonX3.org (Submit your email for an invite at launch and invitation to the forums) ** Invite Only Forums** Discuss it on the forums ~ http://forum.EdisonX3.orgReddit: http://www.reddit.com/r/EdisonX3Note: Keep the thread active and relevant to the topic about Thomas Edison, his legacy, and this specific crypto currency: EdisonX3. No Trolling allowed, and all fud will be removed from the thread, just make sure you add value to the thread. Bounties are always needed: Post pictures, videos, articles, news/media links, post this thread on communities, spread the word as much as possible but remember to not troll- there will be zero tolerance for that. Yeah ... Tesla was the real inventor. Edison is only responsible for the power wasting and NON-free energy. If Tesla had won, then we wouldn't have to put in "power consumption" into the coinwarz profitability calculator.

You suck as developers. Judging by your posts, you haven't done a single valuable thing for the community, at least we can admit we failed many times... you don't think Satoshi failed? look at the history of bitcoin, Satoshi went to the community for help to get bitcoin on its feet. This is exactly what we have done, but with our own private team. -------------------- scott: Linux/UNIX compile Posted:Thu 08 of Oct, 2009 (05:49 UTC)
Can we get instructions or modifications to compile and install BitCoin on Linux? A command line version would be great.
Reference: Asked for Linux Help and Martti came through for Satoshi
The Linux version is on its way. Martti's Linux port was merged into the main code branch and New Liberty Standard has been testing it. It'll be in the next release, version 0.2.
Command line is on the to-do list after 0.2.

haha, that's what I wanted to see! I lol'd too because there is too many damn alts popping up daily doing IPO type schemes and large premines. To answer all your questions, we are thinking an abnormal number for premine (still in the works) but somewhere that the entire crypto industry has not ever seen. This might be announced with the smallest premine ever to date in the Crypto Industry. Stay tuned for updates! We are not good at exchanges and trading, we are really good at developing new things and promoting our work.

And taking the "you have never written a book, so you can't say my book is crap" line of defense is not a valid discussion technique. To answer all your questions, we are thinking an abnormal number for premine (still in the works) but somewhere that the entire crypto industry has not ever seen. Seeing how there are non-premined coins, you'd have to invent a concept of negative premine. Uh... you buy coins from market and toss them into a black hole?

Not dead, you just found a reason to talk yourself out of something.. This coin will be 1000 years old, Everyone said the same thing about BTC and LTC. we want it to be 30 minutes because it will only secure its network and its users. You can still see the balance show up, but confirmations do take a long time. Speed is everything to a certain degree. Fiat could take up to 3-5 business days to process direct deposits, automatic payments, depending on the processing institution. EdisonX3 vs FIAT is much more secure instead of the middle man holding your funds, and who knows what they used the funds for during that holding period. EdisonX3 will be compared to fiat. Yes, more on this as we progress

Can't understand how EdisonX3 is protected from 51% attack if it's PoW coin?

Yes, more on this as we progress 30 minute block times will kill this coin. A pool with 10% of network can expect to solve one block every 300 minutes. Can you see many people being happy to wait 5 hours for a block to show in their pool, if the're lucky. If the pool is unlucky, and there's no blocks found in 10+ hours, people will bail from the pool with nothing to show for 10 hours mining, and will not be happy with the coin in general. Now consider a smaller pool, say 2%. How many people will wait for more than 24 hours to see a return on their hashpower? When do you bail from the pool, after 2-3 days? I foresee one or maybe 2 pools surviving more than a couple weeks. Not exactly a recipe for a healthy network. This is up for discussions now because you brought up a few good points; the negative though- Bitcoin is not the safest coin yet, and we all know this. Yes, aside from Block time, we have been working on some new code that should help keep the network and its users more secure, however, we are open to hearing what others have to say about Block Times @ https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=493518.0We look forward to all your feedbacks in that thread

This coin is dead, the transactions take too long to confirm (30 mins)
Yes, more on this as we progress 30 minute block times will kill this coin. A pool with 10% of network can expect to solve one block every 300 minutes. Can you see many people being happy to wait 5 hours for a block to show in their pool, if the're lucky. Why even allow transaction malleability? I personally have never had any need for changing the TXID of any trxns I have made. Is there a legitimate use for it? 2/. If it is necessary to have trx malleability, then why not make longer confirmation times (ie 10+ times normal) for only those transactions whose TXID has changed from the original (ie conditional treatment of non-standard trxns) ? 3/. Plus why would you not restrict the ability to change a TXID to the source wallet? 4/. Plus, wouldn't additional confirmation blocks be a better solution, than longer blocktimes? Extending the blocktime seems like the easy solution, and not exactly addressing the root cause of the problem. But iunno, I'm certainly no expert, just saying I am curious to find out some answers to these as well. I think the solution at hand by EdisonX3 was the reference to a complete bypass of the situation. I am not sure about confirmation time, but I am assuming it is very similar. I know many coins today that use the immature state system where we have to wait 1-2-3 days until coins have 'matured' which is almost the same thing as waiting 30 minutes for a block time. This is not my area either MCCPool but I see where they are going with this.

This is not my area either MCCPool but I see where they are going with this. This is why we started a discussion in this thread for users to vote: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=493518.0Hm, so far, the community does agree to the 30 Minute Block Time Decision due to the Malleability Transaction issues of Bitcoin. In the future, we do have plans to solve this issue with a more clean functionality, but Anonz is correct, we are simply bypassing the Bitcoin Problems by making block time longer- in the efforts to prevent double spending, or exchanges having issues with a specific coin. I've been in discussions with quite a bit of exchanges, and most agree the Block Time of 30 Minutes is fine, and is more secure. You do have a voice to vote for our development features... We are still a few days out from launch- discuss it here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=493518.0However, we are considering a new way to make users on pool more happy if we can help with the speed of confirmation times. GREAT NEWS EVERYONE... NEW BONUS IS AVAILABLE. READ OP BELOW AND POST BELOW ABOUT COINS BEING AVAILABLE FOR CONTRIBUTORS EARLY ON.

He was ardently opposed to the gold standard and debt-based money. Famously, he was quoted in the New York Times stating "Gold is a relic of Julius Caesar, and interest is an invention of Satan."[92] In the same article, he expounded upon the absurdity of a monetary system in which the taxpayer of the United States, in need of a loan, be compelled to pay in return perhaps double the principal, or even greater sums, due to interest. His basic point was that if the Government can produce debt-based money, it could equally as well produce money that was a credit to the taxpayer.[92]" Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thomas_EdisonEXAMPLE #2 - Image Posting Should Look like this: http://imfunny.net/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/Thomas-Edison-Quotes-0-600x338.jpgEXAMPLE #3 - Video Link Back should look like this: Title: The History of Thomas Edison - a Short Story https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZlxVDdBtFQQ

You seem to have forgotten the most fundamental thing abot all this. Nobody wants to wait 30 minutes to get their transactions confirmed buying their morning coffee in starbucks. Even with btc sometimes confirmation hangs for more than a block even after paying transaction fees. Everybody assume btc is gold, so 10 mintue wait is reasonable. To wait 30 minute it has to be synonymous with diamond maybe

The team is glad you mentioned this because we have not forgotten about the fundamentals at all. I am going to think in the shoes of any consumer currently in the crypto industry and for those who are joining in for the first time because of EdisonX3. Remember, we are bringing in our own communities into the industry. So I'll ask the question, and I'll answer it without being bias about my answers. This is just a simple opinion, not an official statement. Q1) Do I want to wait 30 minutes for confirmation? Answer to Q1) No, who likes to wait to validate funds, no one. Q2) Is it a good idea to have confirmations faster than usual if it protects me with security flaws/issues? Answer to Q2) Yes, if the solution presented solved the major problems faced by Bitcoin Q3) Would I agree that speed is more important in any transaction? Answer to Q3) Yes, because you can validate a successful transfer (peace of mind) Q4) The key question- Should I settle for faster speed (1-5 minutes confirmation) or would I prefer waiting longer for long-term stability and security? Answer to Q4) I wouldn't want to settle for anything, even if it meant it was faster. If there was a solution of a happy medium of security, stability, and speed. I would like to take this concept on, and get the 'happy medium' strategy implemented on EdisonX3 (if we can keep this a 1,000 year old coin). This is where we are asking you to contribute because EdisonX3 is still in development with some other features, and we can still implement a fast confirmation. Remember, this will be a 1,000 year coin. So the reason behind the 30 minute block time was due to the long-term security and stability option. However, if anyone has a suggestion to modify this coin in similar nature to the level of 1-5 minutes confirmation as well as protect its network against 51% attacks/DDOS/Malleability issues, then let's discuss a few options. Again, we are completely transparent about this, and want the community to get involved as we progress in development. I can see how suggestions so far have a good tone of voice for the sake of improving EdisonX3 for its launch, so we all can benefit from this.

I just posted because there is an opportunity for me to start earning coins early on, so yeah, count me in for that. Great idea with the timer devs. I really like the history that could be made here with this coin and look forward to mining at launch. I just posted a message to suprnova.cc if they would support EdisonX3 at launch. I hope they do consider it since I really like their pool due to the stability. Can anyone else that mines other altcoins recommend a trusted pool that has been around for more than 6+ months with a reputable member behind the pool?

Trafficlearn, are you about to release that type of pool? That would be interesting to see and mine on. I am hoping to mine on a trusted pool like MineBig.com because they answered my questions directly MineBIG will have a pool for launch....please drop us an email with any pertinent info
This is great news but I have some questions before I start mining at launch on MineBig (for personal reasons) maybe we should direct this to the main page? https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4917111) How long has minebig.com been in the mining business? 2) Which crypto currencies do you focus on currently? 3) How much estimated traffic do you get a day on the domain? any screenshots? 4) What is the total highest hash power for one of your supported crypto coins? 1 several months 2 we have over 15 pools currently public 3 2,000+ hits per day to minebig.com 4 we have had pools as high as 100Ths+ hope your feeling satisfied This was first posted in the bounty thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=519177.0We are..the assembly is underway and we hope to bring more tesla inspired inventing and practical use to the Alt community.....we will also have solar powered gridseed mining rigs hashing for the benefit of everyone in the pool. all of that aside....mineBIG is one of the best mining pool companies in the biz..even though the name is only a few months old...the team is seasoned verterans...and they have done some amazing shit under duress from some of these coins....we have been there since day one and could not be happier. Timer is gone? no launch info?
Do you know any alternative way to not get our timers removed? This is not in our hands. It is being removed by [Suspicious link removed]ecurity functions. Do you not see the error its reporting? so we will direct the timer on www.EdisonX3.org and put a date on this. It says, "Bitcointalk.org image proxy invalid image." in other words, removed automatically. This was an issue even during pre announcement because they allowed support for it, up until recently.

Important Facts about EdisonX3
Edison has its own Open Source (FAIR USE) Technology called the Edison Carbon Filament
The point of EdisonX3 being spread out for 1,000 years, long block times for safety against the most recent Malleability Transaction issues (still a big problem for Bitcoin), and now halting the progress of monopolized coin farm strategies.
What is Transaction Malleability ?
While transactions are signed, the signature does not currently cover all the data in a transaction that is hashed to create the transaction hash. Thus while uncommon it is possible for a node on the network to change a transaction you send in such a way that the hash is invalidated. Note that this just changes the hash, the output of the transaction remains the same and the bitcoins will go to their intended recipient. However this does mean that, for instance, it is not safe to accept a chain of unconfirmed transactions under any circumstance because the later transactions will depend on the hashes of the previous transactions, and those hashes can be changed until they are confirmed in a block. (and potentially even after a confirmation if the block chain is reorganized) In addition clients must always actively scan for transactions to them; assuming a txout exists because the client created it previously is unsafe.

Is it just me? Or is launching a coin based on a famous American in the middle of the night in America a really lame idea? It looks like this will launch at 3AM mountain time in the US ?? Stupid and Annoying time to launch. I can only assume those devs that will be profiteering on this are not in the USA ...Just saying ...its kinda Un-American .....IMHO (looks like I will have to launch my Churchill coin in the middle of the night UK time)

Well the countdown timer shows around one hour. The dev wrote earlier "Timer updated @ http://edisonX3.org" And then "Anyone doing promotions, please consider the new timing update Launch happens: 6 PM PST & 9 PM EST (USA TIME)". Take your pick lol

No premine ??
To answer all your questions, we are thinking an abnormal number for premine (still in the works) but somewhere that the entire crypto industry has not ever seen. This might be announced with the smallest premine ever to date in the Crypto Industry. Stay tuned for updates! the smallest premine is 0

As far as i know...Pool admins cannot change or retrieve your PINS....the CAN unlock the accounts....but passwords and email addresses and PINS are up to the users to be responsible enough to remember or WRITE DOWN....not trying to get in a fight for MineBIG....but it sounds as if you need to take better care of your passwords...

All the communication since last night has been a drawing and another graphic ^^ with escaped apostrophes ^^ ??
35 minutes and no dev in IRC in the #EdisonX3 channel you put on your page. No idea how this is going to be delivered.
Please communicate.

What did you guys expect with 30 min block times? The diff is high to keep you from solving blocks. Someone needs to find out how long the .1 anti instamine reward system is in place as if its going to be 100 blocks you all might want to come back on like Sunday...

Did no one notice this coin has a 30 minute block time and diff retargets every block? Massive immediate difficulty rise is about right. All seems to be fine. Still wanna know why the one block I soloed is only 0.10 EDISON.

Ah, so there are lowered block rewards for first few blocks. Hopefully devs didnt set it for too many blocks. With fast retargeting and a 30 minute block time, yeah, it could take a while if they set it for 100 or even 50 blocks.
