Before Altcoin can beat Bitcoin, first make innovation that exceeds bitcoin, make the world recognize Altcoin, then he can be one step closer to bitcoin. Ether might be able to, but it still takes a very long time to achieve it in my opinion.

It's almost 8 months of 2018 and we have not seen any reasonable hikes for the altcoins,
It was only Ethereum that hit a good value of almost 1.4k$ in the beginning of the year . Since then it's pretty dull.

Forget overtaking can any ALTCOIN ever reach a value near Bitcoin.
I really don't think that any altcoin could ever overtake bitcoin, because bitcoin was obviously a new idea back when it was created and people liked it and since it brought a whole new way for us to revolutionize the way we do thing they supported and it got big and so its price, and baiscaclly all the other coins that came after it are all considered copy cats, just they want to be like bitcoin but obviously they can't and they won't.

There is no way that I see any of the altcoins overtaking bitcoin even the ones with really good project. Bitcoin being the first cryptocurrency in the market already gives the coin bragging rights and to maintain relevance through all of the years in the midst of thousands of coins has helped it to solidify its place as the best coin in the market and no one can replace it.

i think there is no chance to overtake the price of bitcoin. because these coin is the first ever digital crypto currency in the market. Bitcoin price are handle the movements of all altcoins price and ICO's. So if the bitcoin market price increase continuously, all the altcoins will follow through on the increasing price.

Yes absolutely , currently there's no Altcoin that could be considered competitive to Bitcoin .
Bitcoin is now almost accounts for more than half of the total crypto currencies in the world ,
In the observable future I can't bet on any Altcoin to come even near as Bitcoin.

No. The closest altcoin in terms of value to bitcoin is Ethereum, you know how much bitcoin surpasses Ethereum. But that's not it at Balsamo account, this electronic settlement system, they costitute with paper money and the first was bitcoin ....

I don't think altcoin can't replace bitcoin because the price gap between atlcoin and bitcoin are so far and in everytime bitcoin price decrease, the price of altcoin also decrease. Bitcoin as the king of crypto will survive in that position in very long time.

Nobody knows what will happen in the future. Because if someone asked to guess the future movement of the cryptocurrency, then he asked for an impossible task. Because the movement and price auction of the altcoin is almost impossible to guess.
So now the point is does any altcoin can overtake the Bitcoin?

The answer is simply no. Because the point is Bitcoin is the king of all altcoin. You can check the price movement analysis, then you will that, when the price of bitcoin go higher, the price of altcoin goes high too. On the contrary, when the price of bitcoin goes downwards, the price of altcoin also goes down. So it is actually not possible for any altcoin to cross bitcoin.

Like any other technology, it is possible that eventually it will happen, but at the moment under the current conditions of great and absolute dominance of bitcoin that seems still far, so I do not think any of the existing altcoins currently come to displace to the bitcoin ever.

This may never ever be possible as Bitcoin always leads the way for the cryptocurrency market and for other altcoins to follow. It will remain number 1.

At some moment people had a hard expectation over ethereum, and things got changed going opposite to the expectation users had over it. Possibly now and forever there is no more chances for any altcoins or new coins to overcome bitcoin. It could have taken place long back, if it is achievable.

for altcoins I don't think it will be able to replace BTC in terms of coin prices or in terms of enthusiasts, because BTC is the king of all coins and currently there are many enthusiasts who on average buy it for long-term investment, for altcoins it only rises when there are certain factors

It altcoin thinking it can overtake Bitcoin may just be dreaming. How possible can that ever be. Bitcoin is the crypto market everyone talks about. It alone holds about 45% of the market cap leaving the remaining 55% for other over 1500 different cryptos.

In my own opinion, I don't think this will happen. Even if it will, the altcoin that can achieve that is Ethereum, as Ethereum has shown some level of advancements than other cryptocurrencies.

Bitcoin is the leader of cryptocurrencies and will remain so for a long time. In General, I do not think that some altcoin is able to move bitcoin. Most likely, bitcoin will always remain in the first position.

The truth is just like the words you write. Currently, in this market, only ETH can compete with BTC at the exchange rate and market cap, but now the ETH exchange rate is only $ 275 so reaching the exchange rate like BTC is unlikely. out. So hopefully in the future ETH will overcome the market cap of the BTC.

Only a few possibilities for altcoins to be able to overtake bitcoin. Altcoin, of course, will be difficult to surpass bitcoin, if it only approaches bitcoin it becomes possible, and currently the altcoin closest to bitcoin is ethereum.

The reason why bitcoin still number one because those altcoins still tied to the bitcoin and people have more trust on it rather than on altcoin. It's been 10 years when bitcoin was created not an easy journey though for bitcoin to exist, seems like Bitcoin is an investment tool that people use it for storing their asset while alternative coin is a utility coin where people use it whether as a smart contract, payment method etc I think it supposed to be a complement for the bitcoin itself not as a competitor.
