As the title says "POSSIBLE" so Im not directly accusing this user or saying that he abuse his power but I would like to hear other users opinion and I it will also highly appreciated if Mr. paxmao will respond on this.

Im going to assume that Mr. paxmao is a merit Source by looking on his merit history.

In this topic there are 3 users involved:
Mr. paxmao : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1192397
Mr. Gothorum: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=674078

If you are going to review all those post you will notice that most of that post came from a new's on other website's and he just add the source of it, Im going to assume that this is a trick to receive reasonable merits.

Also if you review the post history of Mr. Compiler we can consider him as a 1/2 liner and a spammer on bitcoin discussion board.

38 Merits receive by Mr. Compiler from Mr. Gothorum in the last 120 days merited post listed below:

If you are going to review all of those post you will notice that most of that merited post by Mr. Compiler is also merited by Mr. paxmao.

Also check the dates of those post and the date when he Mr. Gothorum send those merits most of that posted a long time ago and the merit is given almost 1 month after the post, Imagine how Mr. Gothorum dig Mr. Compiler post history?

Heres the example
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4802576.msg43320737#msg43320737

Mr. Compiler posted that on August 2 and Mr. Gothorum send 10 merits just today.

I can say that most of those post above are meritable post but if you are going to review it on your own all of those post gets merit only by Mr. paxmao and only 1 of those post get merits from others.

Aside from that it seems like Mr. paxmao is reviewing his post history just to make the given merits is reasonable because this post https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4544200.msg40903958#msg40903958 is made on June 25 and merited by Mr. paxmao on August 27 if you look at this topic it seems like the topic is already dead because it has no reply since August 16.

Merits receive by Mr. Gothorum from Mr. Compiler in the last 120 days merited post listed below:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3087153.msg31837578#msg31837578 -9 merit
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4322388.msg38767088#msg38767088 -2 merit

The posts is reasonable enough to receive the merits but if Im on the situation of Mr. Compiler I would not give Mr. Gothorum 9 merits on a single post because Im just a "member" and I dont have much merit to send 9 merits on a single post.

You will notice that on this 2 posts there's this Mr. freemind1 that also gives huge amount of merits and after reviewing his profile I want to add him to this because he sent a total of 37 merits to Mr. Gothorum and if you are going to review his merit history almost all of his merits given is focused on Mr. Gothorum.

This is the list of post of Mr. Gothorum that receive merits from Mr. freemind1:

On Mr. paxmao I cant see a strong evidence on his merit history because he did'nt receive much amount of merit from Mr. Gothorum and Mr. Compiler,

But looking on his merit history most of the merits he sent to other users are reasonable aside from the merits he sent to Mr. Compiler but there are also some users that receive's merits from him that is unreasonable to give.

I can say that Mr. paxmao may not involved with this merit farming but I can also say that there's a easy distribution of merit on their local board.

Examples:
Casamentero fue mi pensamiento inicial ... tal vez emparejamiento? No tienes muchas opciones Sad

Sencillo y simplificado. Ensamblaje.  Grin

Also if you take a look again on the merit history of Mr. Gothorum and Mr. Compiler you will also have a doubt like me.

Lets say my is suspicion is true, if Im on Mr. paxmao position I will also do the same thing I will also take care of that account and I will avoid to give merit to that account because that account is a merit source.

As I said at first it will be better if Mr. paxmao respond to this OP to clear things up.

EDIT:
I think this will be more clearer if the merit history dont get deleted every 120 days and it will be more useful for things like this.

If you are looking for the forum, which will not cost you much with the free time that you seem to have, you will find a message where they theymos, indicated that the merits are to be used.

If it has no merit it will be because you do not deserve it, friend.

Perhaps with this thread you fall some, who knows.

Read the rules of the forum and especially the subject to which you refer, it is important to be up to date to be appreciated by the community.

I knew it was going to happen sooner or later. I feel bad, why don't you include me?? Just look my merit history if you are into a wich-haunt.

You have too much free-time.
But I'm going to take a breath and explain something to you. All these three users, also me, are really actives on the Spanish board. If you take a look at our local board, you will see that we are few in there. We are lucky to have a merit source, Paxmao, and, also, to be honest, mostly all the users you mentioned are really good ones. In the Spanish board we have passionate conversations and quality posts, surprisingly, but, I insist, we are a few.

If you check my own post history you will see how I've been merited for both Paxmao and Gothorum several times. This is not any merit abuse, but something common, for we are a few and the conversations are high-quality.

Now, go and invest your time in something useful.

PD: Yes, I've merited Gothorum again!!! Oh!! what an abuse!!

Even if we exclude Mr. paxmao here, the OP still clearly shows that Mr. Gothorum and Mr. Compiler commits merit farming even those accounts owned by one or even they are friends in real life.

EDIT:
By the way I reviewed your merit history and theres nothing suspicious there and most of the sended and received merits are fair enough.

It's funny that after 48 hours of reporting more than 18 false accounts in a signature campaign, I read this here. I'm completely sure that it must be a coincidence...

As you have been told above, the merit exists to use it, can you prove that Gothorum and Compiler are the same person? Do not answer, I know you can not.

Thanks for calling me Mr. freemind1, and now, after your envy strike, devote your time to something useful Mr. Perry Mason

I can say that Mr. paxmao may not involved with this merit farming but I can also say that there's a easy distribution of merit on their local board.

If you know how paxmao defined his merit criteria then you'll understand why he is an easy going merit source:

In my case, I have posted my criteria that I think aligns with the forum rules:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4315906.msg41555048#msg41555048
What is quality

- Help others using a special or uncommon knowledge
- Very relevant news with a good analysis or an important implication to cryptos.
- Occasionally, good humor.
- Personally, if anyone corrects a word in one of my translations I will give merit ("of my own")

What is NOT meritable:
- A long post is not necessarily merit worthy.
- If you plagiarise and I notice it you will be in my ignored list for a year.
- If you have been trading merit with other users and I notice it, you will have a hard time getting merit.

An a later addition: Don´t send me PM asking for merit.

I got a couple of merits from him too. Those weren't for constructive posts but for some information that might be useful to him.

Yes I cant but as what Ive said earlier even if not it can still consider as merit farming.

I would love to be a part of your local board, it seems like its too easy to earn merits.

I would love to be a part of your local board, it seems like its too easy to earn merits.

Of course, you can always join the Fit to Talk project to learn Spanish in there, and, after that, join the Spanish board. To learn another language is really useful, and, besides, the Spanish board is full of decent and passionate debates.
Nevertheless, you need to be a good user in the Spanish too, so maybe this is going to be difficult to earn any merit for you in there, as it is in here.  Wink

EDIT:
I think this will be more clearer if the merit history dont get deleted every 120 days and it will be more useful for things like this.

You can always use some tools like this one: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4444830.0
if you want to see all the merit history for any user.
I'm sure it will be quite useful for your wich-haunting activities.

Right, I felt I needed to butt in here, since I also contribute to the local Spanish board and fully understand the posts without having to result to “google transleet”(catchphrase I use thanks to someone’s misspelt post some time ago) :

First some objective data con contextualize de core focus of your post (I am not going to dissect it all, at least not now):
Paxmao has awarded sMerit to 549 different people, totalling 1.176 sMerits as of last Friday. The average he awards is 1,13 sMerits/TX with a standard deviation of 0,5. Less than half of his sMerit is awarded on the Spanish Local forum, so really he is a global merit source with responsibility over a local board.

The Spanish Local board is a potentially large one, but in practice, the activity is not that high and anyone who can put a decent thought into his posts is bound to stand-out. I consider that there is just a bunch of good posters on the Spanish Local board, so those tend to be the most merited there and even concentrate a fair share due to this fact.

In truth, I myself often try to award merit there, and I find that I refrain from giving too much out not because some posts do not deserve more, but because I don’t particularly like a photo of overly concentrating sends. I have personally merited 25 different people on the Spanish forum, and wouldn’t really have merited more people to date there, but I could have given some more if it were not for the mental hand-brake I draw due to the above. This effect is I believe in the minds of others too, not just me.

Everyone’s criteria for meriting is different, and I would not have merited myself some of those posts (in fact, I didn’t, although I may or may not have seen them). Of course, if everyone had my criteria, then we would only be meriting a certain style and content on the forum over and over again. Fortunately, there is diversity in criteria.
The fact that only one person merited most of the posts you reference is not in itself proof nor a hint to anything. 79,80% of posts that are merited there are for a measly 1 Merit, and 88,28% of merited posts are merited by a single person. Merit is not a Fiesta there really.

On certain occasions, someone bumps a thread with a comment, you read the thread, and decide to merit a post written a few weeks or months ago. This is not too frequent, but again a feasible thing that may happen (I’ve done this on a few occasions).

The 120 day limit of sMerit TXs is not an issue. There are around six or seven tools around created by forum members for us, with weekly updates or even on-the-fly updates. A bit more time invested in searching for these tools will do wonders …

Note: More info on Análisis del sMérito en el foro en español. Notice that there are quite a few decent replies to the OP that go totally unmerited. That's another interesting stat to do ...

<...> I would love to be a part of your local board, it seems like its too easy to earn merits.
Easy then: Learn the fucking language and then prepare for around two lifetimes to rank-up there above Member rank...

tl;dr
Oooopps, calm down. It seems like you are too much affected on what Ive said.  Grin

First of all I respect all of you and Im not posting this to make a fight, its just an accident that I notice something fishy on their merit history.

Im here to get what others opinion about this because it is too unfair for other local board that this is happening on your local board.

BTW If Im on your local I dont need 2 lifetimes to rank up because it is obvious that its easy to get a bunch of merits on your local board, by the way I dont have too much time to study your "fucking language".

EDIT:
If all of you are affected because I have a suspicion on Mr. paxmao then lets exclude him here.

Mr. paxmao is EXCLUDED on the suspicion.

So now what would be your reaction on these 2 accounts?

Unfair??
It is easy for you to speak without having any kind of further information. Let me help you:
The Spanish local has few users and a lot of good debates. That's creating a "merit circle", for we merit those ones, and happens to be a few. But to rank-up beyond member in the Spanish local is truly difficult, for even the better post rarely receive more than a couple of merits. Why? Again, because we are a few in there.
You can work really hard in a post in there and receive 2 or 3 merits as much. In here, you can work hard and receive far more merits for the same kind of effort.
So, yes, it is not fair, for, if you are unable to speak English, probably you will never rank beyond member in our local. And, also, you can be accused by some ignorants of earning undeceived merits and for being "an abuser".

You don' t have any interest nor time or learning our language and, yet, you are making accusations without having the whole picture. So I definitely agree with DdmrDdmr., if you want to make some well-informed accusations then learn the fucking language.

EDIT. Ah, and if you are finally excluding "MR. Paxmao", then change the thread title.

I have nothing to say about this post, my friends from Spanish forum have already said everything. I have always been moving a bit between the two forums English and Spanish. But more in Spanish, and I have to say that as Nadia tells you, we are obviously much less in the Spanish community, and I have had more interaction with those users than in the English community.

Almost all the merits that I have, comes from the Spanish community, day by day also giving news, informing people. While doing that, I kept seeing posts from Gothorum doing the same as me, publishing news, interacting, giving merit. A friendly forum works like this, if you do not want to give merit because you dont recieve money for that I understand it, that's how people like you who only have time to create false accounts. Yes, I am accusing you, as freemind says, how weird that they have just been reporting accounts, and of all the users in this forum, you are accusing us.

I was looking your profile and I wanted to cry. Surely if giving merits gave you some crypto right now you would be giving us all. Well, that's how you should use Merits, when you see that someone writes a post that takes time and informs the community. Thats the right way.

If you want to be that rat with merits, go ahead, but if I have merits I will give it to anyone who has informed me of something, so you know, start working and stop growing posts in this thread.

Here is full merit history of paxmao : http://loycevsbasement.privatedns.org/Merit/history/1192397.html
Credit goes to LoyceV  Smiley

Btw, OP wrote a long history. It wasn't really necessary to made a large topic. And it's not belogns to meta without strong and valid reason to claim a merit source. However I saw his full merit history. Paxmao current merit is 314 only. My question is if he/she want to trade or abuse merit he can't get more merit from others ? Obviously he/she can. Also it's seems that he never merited with huge merit to someone, if I am not wrong. His most of spend merit amount is1. As well I don't know his native language no idea why he merit on post. But it's not a huge amount I think. I will not consider him/her merit abuse based on your thread. This isn't enough reason to claim a merit source. I have seen some ANN or bounty thread merited with 50 merit. So what you will consider that? An ANN or bounty thread can't be HQ post. Anyway according to admin merit isn't moderate by forum. You are free to use it.

First off, I'm not sure what is this post doing in the Meta sub-forum?
We discuss forum software related things here. If it's scam/abuse it must go in scam accusations sub forum.

Second, theymos has said that you can top-up any user that deserves to rank up, with no restrictions.

Last, MERIT is NOT MODERATED. You can complain about it forever, there are more important things the staff will look into. Try investing your time in something productive.

Seems like this MeritTalk will never end...

I would like to hear other users opinion

Sending or receiving merits is not proof of anything. You should not even start a thread like this unless you have additional proof showing that these users are alts or in some sort of collusion.

As DdmrDdmr pointed out, paxmao has sent merits to 500+ different users. My Spanish is not good enough to browse the Spanish boards but from what I've seen on the English boards I have no doubt that paxmao is doing a great job distributing merits to deserving posts.
