    Total coins: 50,000,000 SPA
Premine: 50% to be distributed among Spanish citizens
    Coins per block: 100 SPA
    Block target: 2 minutes
    Difficulty adjustment: every block (DigiShield)
Block reward halving every 8 months (non-linear, recalculated every block to avoid big jumps in block reward)
All coins will have been mined after 4.8 years
Mined coins mature in 120 blocks
    p2p port: 11492 - rpc port:11491

    Pools:

    How to mine:
You can use several miners for Scrypt-n GPU mining. Common scrypt miners like cgminer won't work, you need vertminer or a similarly modified miner.
Additionally, we recommend that you read this to adjust your miner's settings for Scrypt-n. Bear in mind you'll get half the hashrate on Scrypt-n, compared to Scrypt. It's the same for everyone, you're not at a disadvantage.

P2Pool operators: you can get the updated p2pool source code here: https://github.com/SpainCoinProject/p2pool (install the vertcoin_scrypt module just like you installed the litecoin_scrypt module -- sudo python setup.py install). New worker port is 26490.

    Premined coins distribution:

It will be done in 5 stages, starting on April 16:

Update: after some consideration, taking into account the current SpainCoin value, more coins than stated in the original plan will be given away. Expect at least 500 SPA per person in stage 1.

Update 2: 500 SPA were given away in stage 1. 2500 SPA will be given away in stage 2

Update 3: updated plan now that we're at the final stage:

    Stage 1: 5M coins; ~1M were distributed, ~4M destroyed
Stage 2 began on June 10th, ~4M coins were distributed, ~6M were destroyed.
Stage 3 began on July 28th, ~2.5M have been given away, 5M will be destroyed, ~2M will be rolled over to the next (final) stage.
Stage 4 to begin on mid-September, giving away the remaining coins (~2M SPA), until the end of the year.

Update 4: airdrop has finished, last coins destroyed!

    __

Total premine of 25M coins for a maximum of 8M people. We assume not every Spaniard will claim their coins. Each stage will last 2 moths, any coins remaining will be either rolled over to the following stage or destroyed. We will watch the coin supply and try not to flood the market giving away coins (we'll probably place daily quotas in the first few days of giving out coins, so that at least no more coins are being given away than being mined).

You can sign up here to be notified when the coin distribution starts:
    http://signup.spaincoin.org/

More detailed info on coin distribution: http://blog.spaincoin.org/spaincoin-distribution/

Premined coins are held in the following addresses, each one holding 5M coins:
SN53ACZTXEXHcKmrmNnt8i87HXw1nL5kSC -> (stage 1, almost 1M given away in the airdrop, ~4M destroyed)

Pool operators: you can run your stratum/mpos pool just like you would for other scrypt coins, have a look at the coin specs for configuration. If you want to run p2pool, you can get our patched p2pool from here: https://github.com/SpainCoinProject/p2pool

    Cheers!

PS: Please note this is an English-speaking forum. There is a topic in the Spanish sub-forum if you want to post in Spanish.[/list]

Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

More info about dev team plz
I'm a software engineer. Recent cryptocoin-related stuff: I've run some pools (CrunchPool currently), I helped patch stratum for maxcoin.
The other member of the team ("spaincoin project" here in these forums), is a web developer.

    Copycat Auroracoin?
It's based on Litecoin, not on Auroracoin. That said, there are obviously some parallels, as we also intend to distribute the premined coins to the Spanish population.

Would there be any interest (and bounty) for a professional grade website?
I could build one from scratch in about 24 hours or less depending on requirements; it will be in css/HTML and some javascript.
For an example of my work: pmc.cryptotycoons.com
I'd supply source if requested, or host it myself at a subdomain such as the one i linked to. Alternatively the bounty could also cover the costs of a domain name and hosting space =)
I'll also include a dedicated forum for spaincoin

It is really stupid, those coins got nothing to offer... the coin owners will let the coin die before they need to send those coins, first they pump it, stupid people start buying and buying, then they dump all the coins and game over... i don't play those games.

I'm only interested in real coins, real developers that work for their coins, like Xivra and Klondike coin, yes, does coins are not moving now, but with all the services that has been added  they will one day, and we will not talk about any of those countrycoin.

To be honest, I'd be ashamed to present such a blatant rip-off of AUR as my own coin.

AUR is going to crash, you're too late to jump on the bandwagon.
