There is no a fixed upper limit for Bitcoin nor any other cryptocurrencies. Until now we are comparing Bitcoin to USD mostly which is relatively stable but if you compare BTC to another local currency then the rise is much important with the devaluation of Argentinian, Brazilian, Venezuelan, South African, Zimbabwean...currencies.
If the USD will crash at some point then you can imagine BTC/USD at 1,000,000$

I don't think one can accurately predict the maximum price of bitcoin but to me bitcoin may go above   $1,000,000 in twenty to fifty years to come. However, this is not the limit as the future is highly very bright.

Around $100k is the max it could ever reach, I doubt it will ever be $250k levels or so, I think $100k is definitely the max we can have for a long time before dollar really becomes devalued and worthless, until than there is no way it can go any higher. Think about this nasdaq and nyse are the biggest 2 stock exchanges in the whole world and they combine worth 27 trillion dollars or so, and we are talking about ALL public companies in USA which means 27 trillion dollars is really an insanely high number.

If bitcoin reaches to $100k it would 2 trillion levels, which is definitely doable but that is just bitcoin so with crypto and all that it would probably be around 4-5 trillion levels, which is 1/5 of the stock exchange which is really realistic.

I really do not see any reason any one can give on why they think the maximum price would be exactly how it is, because they have none and no one knows what the future holds and I am sure the OP actually stated that. Bitcoin will hit the maximum price it is going to hit whenever it feels like and that would totally be based on how people and users perceive it in the long run.

Based on what the OP said on what he thinks, that only would be totally bent on fiat failing and then the only available option is to utilize bitcoin. Probably by then a satoshi might be equivalent to a dollar, who knows?

Bitcoin still has a long way too go and who knows, it seems that nothing is impossible with btc even though a lot of people arr pessimistic about it. I don't think that was ever the goal of Bitcoin.

Whether BTC replaces fiat currency or not, the point was to establish sound money without the use of trusted intermediaries or authorities. There's no reason why BTC and fiat can't work side by side, serving different use cases. I think that governments and major fiat currencies have much more staying power than most bitcoiners realize. I also think that BTC can thrive and reach values of millions USD whether or not USD collapses like so many bitcoiners expect.

I am sorry but I do not believe that is remotely possible. Bitcoin can't go bigger than 10 biggest stock exchanges all by itself. Fair point, but as we all know market cap is not an accurate measurement for cryptocurrencies. The more accurate way (IMO) of determining the Bitcoin price upper limit is the block reward.

For example, 10 years from now the block reward will be  1.56. if the price were to be $1 million per coin, that means there would be $9.3 million dollars of inflation per hour. This works out to $224.6 Million per day, or to a comically high $82 Billion per year. $82 Billion would need to be entering Bitcoin every year in order to maintain a price of $1 million per coin. This isn't very viable, so the upper limit of the price is probably a little bit lower than this. This, of course, is assuming Bitcoin would hit $1 million after 3 more block halvings, in 2028. This also assumes that miners would sell 100% of their coins too which is unlikely, as they would likely only sell a small percentage of their earnings, depending on the cost of mining of course.

Who knows, this price could be possible, but I just don't know if there would be $82 Billion/year worth of demand for at least 4 years to maintain the price.

No one knows what the price would be in the next second, minute, hour, day, week, month or year as the case may be. It is market, very unpredictable, things can change at any point which could tend towards huge demand side or supply side, and all these things are a part of what we really cannot see could happen anytime in the future.

In my opinion the price of bitcoin will reach upto $1M as lot other says,no technocal analysis or based nothing just my opinion.

For me it seems so lhuge. I would say bitcoin value would reach $300K the max as we do have increasing crypto coins coming into market with good projects. Obviously yes bitcoin will be the leading currency. As bitcoin value grows up, we may have only the whales investing into bitcoin not the investors with small capitals. So the investors with small capital will look into other altcoins with best growth trend. The investment would get split. The demand and the circulation of bitcoin would be very less and the value will remain to an extend as like current year. This is my prediction.

Even if it can reach that high then I do believe it will drop suddenly as most people will sell it and they will start to twice to re-investing once it is dropped. Nobody can predict the price of Bitcoin properly and no one will be able to do it. The price of Bitcoin is always changing at all times and is always unpredictable. This will be a characteristic and occur until the government makes a decision and makes regulations on Bitcoin. When the government makes regulations on Bitcoin, the price will be stable and when the government has not made regulations, stability will not always exist at all times. We will not be able to predict the price of Bitcoin at any time !!!!

I am sorry but I do not believe that is remotely possible. Bitcoin can't go bigger than 10 biggest stock exchanges all by itself.

In the mass adoption scenario, Bitcoin would stand alongside traditional investment assets. Bitcoin can theoretically take a chunk from all store-of-value assets, from gold to fiat currencies (M0). Gold's market cap stands around $8 trillion alone. $10-20 trillion doesn't seem unreasonable at all.

As time passes I care less and less about the maximum price that bitcoin can reach, what I really care about is the value that bitcoin can reach which is not exactly the same, I really think that in the next decades bitcoin will be so valuable that it could allow you to buy a house with a single bitcoin, and if you live in a country where there is a lower level of income it is entirely possible that you could buy several houses with just one bitcoin.

Yeah, it is actually not the same, even though when things become valuable, they tend to get more demanded for and hence, it brings about increase in price. I would join you as well in saying that the best thing we should be looking at now is the real life usage of bitcoin and there and then, is when we will be able to see good and sustainable growth based on real demand and not just some speculations.

Sure, speculations may be good for some at the moment, based on their ability to trade the market and taking advantage of the volatility, but for future sake, I believe we really need to be looking out for real demand instead.

There are various cycles every emerging industry has to go through at the very beginning, and we're still at the point where everything is just hype and craze we rely on, but I'm sure this will change eventually.

The internet has gone through the exact same cycle. It has grown because there is actual utility that betters our lives, and some crypto currencies will provide that utility as well, but in their own way.

If I had to pick two crypto currencies that I believe will definitely be part of the ones that provide fundamental utility, then it definitely should be Bitcoin and Ethereum. It's only a matter of time before they scale accordingly.

By being humble, I am trying to wrap my head around what you are trying to say.
The attitude that I certainly expect to change over time is people getting to see bitcoin for what it really is and then we start getting to see mainstream adoption and a huge real life usage and all these would not come over night and indeed we are not even close to it yet.

The maximum price of bitcoin is only going to be ascertained in the long run, when we probably reach some state of equilibrium between supply and demand and a high level usage in real life, and in this case, we sure know that the market before then can go as high as it wants to base on how people perceive the price and if they are still willing to buy anyway.

Maximum it can reach is $1m? How on earth did you come up with that figure and ascertained this is exactly the max of bitcoin's price. One thing I have always known is that how far any market wants to go is something we obviously cannot know. We might as well one day see 1 satoshi tagged to a dollar and in that case, we see the maximum within the $100m range, or we could even see a lot of people needing more as the case may be and in the case of demand, who even knows if 1 satoshi may be equivalent to $10 ... What I am trying to imply is, we can only assume based on what we would love to see happen, but in reality, no one knows shit about the future.
