You have presented a lot of valid points in considering bounty campaigns to join. I just do not agree completely to this one "Before join any bounty campaign, know the managers. He is well reputed or not. Check his past work how they are success. Try to avoid those aren't well reputed and who managed most of scam ICO." Managers cannot control the actions of the founders/developers despite their due diligence in selecting bounties to promote. That statement also drive away hunters from joining campaigns handled by new managers.
Maybe what is meant by OP, for managers who are professionals, they understand the rules of the forum and more experienced to choose ico which is really real, and those who are new managers are less aware of forum rules and as a result the posts about their bounty were deleted by the moderator.
And in my opinion, for bounty hunters not only pay attention to ico there is an indication of fraud or not, But notice how they post their ico promotions on the thread.
I think this is a great read and educating on how to go about bounty hunting and crypto related investment in general, however, I do want to agree with you on your point here "Managers cannot control the actions of the founders/developers despite their due diligence in selecting bounties to promote. That statement also drives away hunters from joining campaigns handled by new managers"
I think whatever the developers wish to do at the end of the day can't really be controlled by the bounty manager cos if it so happened to an experienced bounty manager, can we say he should no longer be trusted?

secondly, do you think you can elaborate on this "But notice how they post their ico promotions on the thread" so we can learn from it?

How you can? Let's describe briefly;
  • Before join any bounty campaign, know the managers. He is well reputed or not. Check his past work how they are success. Try to avoid those aren't well reputed and who managed most of scam ICO.
  • Investigate yourself about projects. Don't join blindly. Read their whitepaper and others content.( I have added guidelines below read it.
  • Stop promoting bounty if you see someone post scam proof against an ICO. Otherwise you might be get red tagged by DT( IMO). You should visit Scam Accusation board once a day.
  • If you find anything wrong with any ICO make a post on Scam Accusation board. You can search on Google about any project so you will find if there is any scam accusation over internet.

Believe me, I have did all the suggestions above but it won't guarantee you. Bounty managers can't guarantee 100% since most of them only works as the third parties. They don't understand about the project deeply, they focus in working the bounty program. For me, investigate the ICO through whitepaper is not really effective, the most important thing that you should know well is about the team of the projects. Google the more information about them, check via linkedin, and more trusted sources.

At the beginning of joining the prize it gives encouragement to do the prize work. Because it's motivated by friends who have got results. It was unexpected that the final results were disappointing because of joining a fraud project.

Need to be patient before joining a prize and researching the bounty project.

Very grateful to those of you who have provided guidance in avoiding gift fraud

Interesting I hope bounty hunters read this to reduce the scam ICO and the victim. I also twice promoted an scam ICO by using Signature and that's a lesson for me. Now I always do a little research before joining a campaign especially those who doesn't have a solid profile team.

I think we should create a topic where there will be lists of potential ICO scams at the moment. What you think?

I have learned so much about your post and I am glad I bump into this thread. Definitely following all your guidelines jere since it is my first time joining a bounty project and honestly I did not so much of precautions. But with this tips you have provided, probably I wil be very careful the next time I choose a bounty.

Thanks for sharing useful in your posts. I've also applied your methods to avoid being scammed, but even so, it's still possible I encountered a phishing project. I think the BM should also carefully filter the projects they manage

Up for newcomers
When you join many bounty campaigns at one time, you will definitely get some coins for free because it is not possible that all campaigns will go in vain. For instance if you join 30 bounty campaigns and if half of them get tokens, you will earn big money at the end. Wasted time in half and earning tokens in half. Don’t be panic and work hard till the end of the project.

First of all - thank you for this topic and for this one "Guidelines, how to spot a scam ICO & report effectively" - they are really very useful.
I'm also a bounty hunter who follows many of these rules before join the project's bounty campaign and now I'm trying to create a source where I can share these campaigns which are likely not a scam.
I like to discuss them with some experienced bounty hunters in Telegram before publish them here - https://bountygalaxy.com so I invite all of you to have a look at my website, you can be not agree with me but you can be sure that at least a had a look and not blindly add them.
PS Sorry for the design - I'm not a good web-designer Cry

There are many valuable information.  I would encourage "hunters"to look deeply at the ICO's website and whitepaper before joining any Bounty campaign.

I partly disagree with this point:

Before join any bounty campaign, know the managers. He is well reputed or not. Check his past work how they are success. Try to avoid those aren't well reputed and who managed most of scam ICO.

I believe we have to look the whole picture : the TEAM. They must have a good mix of business and Tech people with a background and can deliver the project as promised.

If you think that scam ICOs are limited to just run away with your money, think again. Visit this thread: ICO scammers, Sell your uploaded KYC ID documents, adress for a lot of money. and see - for how much is your KYC data being sold by them in the dark markets. Trust an ICO and give your data ONLY if you are aware of the risks that your data maybe compromised at a point where ICO turns into a scam as when it's about scamming, scammers have shitheads to make it worst for everybody and they don't think of anyone except money. The image in that thread clearly shows how cheap is the worth of our KYC and these scammers' brains are ridiculously ill to sell such user data breaking everyone's trust and still making money over it.

Thanks for your post! I am also worried about the ICO Scam Projects in which the bounty hunters participate, making investors lose their money.
I know we must unite to avoid the proliferation of Scam projects because we need a reliable and safe crypto ecosystem. There is a long way to go but hands-on we are a strong community in bitcointalk.

Maybe. But still, just because a manager is new does not necessarily mean he/she doesn't know the rules of the forum.
Let's say for example there is someone who has been around this forum for sometime and has experienced participating in numerous bounties decided to become a bounty manager, does that the bounty campaign should be ignored by bounty hunters because the one handling the campaign is new and has not established his/her reputation as a bounty manager yet?

It's true, people going in for a bounty for few cents worth of tokens usually is a sign that the project is going to fail. In one way bounties are a good way to promote a project, but if a telegram bounty channel has a lot of users with problems during bounty, imagine how shit the project really is.

Not sure why are you disagree with that point. My point was, if you would like to join bounty then choose well reputed managers. Because a well reputed managers spend time to research before they get any bounty campaign. That's why there is less risk to get scam although every ICO's is risky. On the other hand you have take minimum risk if you are bounty hunter. That's why you have to research yourself. You are spending time and it's your risk.

I totally get the point of coolcryptovator in here. He's just pointing out that we need to have a background check on the campaign manager in this forum. What if the bounty manager of the project that you're joining has red trust? By looking at that campaign manager you can clearly see that you can't trust the project. And you can see on some campaign manager that they have red trust. Example is needmoney and other people from tokensuite.

After seeing this will you still join their bounty? I don't think so.

this is indeed a very useful thread and very helpful for those who want to support the project. it's true, some members always support the project blindly, even they have never seen the site of the project. actually I was also very helped by seeing a project with flags that marked them.

Until now, I might only support a project that has a trusted bounty manager. I believe it can shorten my time to do more research on the team because I believe a trusted bounty manager will also do research in advance about it.

on the other hand, there are some scam projects that are difficult to avoid. Even if you do your research, it will be a scam in the end. like a number of projects that I can't name. it is a trusted project, even listed in a market with a pretty good price. it's just that they are cheating on allocations and regulations for bounty hunters. Well, maybe it's safe enough for investors, but for bounty hunters, it's quite painful, especially if it has a long time.

If you check some of the campaigns, they are managed by part of the team, they are doing this so they can fully control the whole campaign and also to save funds since it's their own people managing the campaign, I'd like the bounty campaign to be run by one of the members of bounty campaign with a good reputation, but we do not have a control on that, if this is the case, we have no choice but to check if the project is good and they are transparent and have proven to be a legit project.
