Last year ethereum also experienced a decline as it is now, but to my knowledge does the price not fall as badly as this? how could this happen? what is behind it?

There are many reasons behind the drop in Ethereum prices. The first and foremost reason is the decline of the ICOs. Too many of the ICOs are turning to be scams and it has negatively affected the ETH exchange rates.

Each year are different, and can't be repeated. As in 2017 we have had a crazy growth and surely in 2018 it will not be repeated. The price of ETH falling as it is now is out of control and predicted by everyone it makes many panic and panic sell makes the situation worse

For the last time Ethereum was below $ 200 in June last year. But now I have no idea what's going on with the market. The market has suffered quite a lot of losses, not even in the last weeks, but months. If it goes on like that it will not be a pleasant situation.

It's the fact that after listing on Bitmex, ETH's prices have fallen so far, the amount of shorts is too large on Bitmex, as well as sales from ICOs and miners, making ETH very difficult to rebound.

what is behind it?
A lot much of FUD everyday on social media that ETH is going back to 2 digits.
Fall of ICO Markets
Delay in Casper and POS.
However, I am still a strong believer in ETH and in this time I am just accumulating as much as I could.

It is very strange why such a price for an etherium is such an impression that it is deliberately dumping. It is based on a reasonable contract. Maybe someone is preparing him for a replacement?

there are too many reason why the price is going down but i dont care about it.
i got my orders at 180 USD and 185USD each... i will buy and wait for the pump soon.
I believe in the capability of ETH To go up the price anytime once the problem got settled.

I think these are the crooks who drained your ether at any price in order to get the dollars and not at all interested in the development of the market. We have to endure it all and make we can nothing. I believe in restoring the price of Etherium, he unjustly suffered.

Ethereum experience what Bitcoin experience from the past when it is on start up. The fact that Ethereum already experience far greater obstacle when they announce for a fork with Ethereum and Ethereum Classic. This situation is a normal process of all altcoins.

Yes, the price of the airwaves is very low. It's kind of weird and scary. Will the ether soon disappear? Now you do not know what to expect from the crypto market.

January last year ETH price was $9 and went up to almost $1400. Now is around $200 and still declining. The reason for this drop is panic selling from ICO funds plus the whole market situation.
Ethereum will recover for sure but it will take time.

I'm too but just try to put some of my ethereum portfolio in another promising coin just like bitcoin. Bitcoin could become the real reason why a lot of people are changing their ethereum to the bitcoin. As far as i understand about in fact whole of crypto are getting big dump and not only ethereum.

It seems to me that the reason for such a serious drop in the price of the ethereum lies in the large number of scams of projects that were conducted on its platform. And now these scammers just started selling the ethereum.

I guess it shouldn't be a problem, as Ethereum first of all is a platform for crowdfunding, so it was always obvious that collected ETH will always be sold by projects after the end of their ICOs, not held. And why do you think that only scam projects sell? Legit ones also have to pay salaries and buy equipement, so they also need fiat.

$ 9? Is it true? it takes a long time to get to the price of $ 1400, if now the price is under $ 200 and you believe the price will improve how long will the price recover?

In fact, the price of Ethereum in the past has been rising, and this year's Ethereum price has really fallen sharply, and the reason for this decline is because ICO is losing investors!

As far as I am concerned. Last year also experienced a fall. It's not that serious. This year's decline is mainly the bear market. In addition. Many project teams collected ETH before. Most of them are selling now. In exchange for cash to support project development.

Market drops usually hit ETH pretty hard, harder than BTC.
However, bullruns are usually more powerful on it, aswell.

Other reasons might be tha amount of trash ICOs that exist.

Ethereum is the worst hit coin among the top 10 in the coinmarket as a result of this blood bath. I suspect the rivalry of other platforms of Waves and Neo must have contributed to this steady decline in Ethereum price.

Agreed and it's true that in 2017, ETH was more volatile than 2018. If we consider September 01- September 15, in 2018, the price is quite stable. There was a significant drop in 2017 while in 2018, $150 seems to be a good support zone for now. So, I don't see anything to panic.
