I didn't expect Ethereum going that low, there are probably fundamental reasons for that. The most significant one could be withdrawals of ETH locked in finished ICOs. They were originally paid in ETH and I assume they continuously convert ETH to pay their expenses and they might be selling more ETH now due to its low price.

If you just believe on the heard news, better to stay away from this market. People react very heavily on any negative news and dump there coins at whatever price they get, but same people don't get too optimistic on positive news. Ethereum is definitely still dependent on Bitcoin, but so are all the other alts, believe it or not. It is nice to see that not every rise and fall is copied. BTC for example made new highs for 2019 as ETH declined,,, but on the wider scale if you pull out the charts for all cryptos you see patterns that copy Bitcoin. ETH should completely pull away in a few years and perhaps as soon as 2020 once everything in the new direction of POS falls into place.
