OK, we have finally been in contact with Cryptopia and now fully understand what happened on the exchange there. We have given them several options to solve the problem and get GXG trading again there. We are waiting to hear back from them and the we will get to work on an update that should solve the problem.
OK, we have a follow up with Cryptopia and they have agreed to our proposal of replacing all the coins that were lost. While this will take 6-8 weeks to create the coding changes to get this done, it does give us a path forward to get GXG going again on that exchange. I have put a miner in the mining pool and mining again - I suggest a few more do the same so we keep the block chain moving. May need some more hashpower than what we have going now. Overall this is great news that GXG will have a path forward after the first of the year.

You are receiving this email because we recognise you as a holder of: GroinCoin(GXG) The above coin(s) has suffered from a 51% attack. We will be enabling withdrawals from 02:00:00 AM (UTC) on 20 December 2018 in order for users to reclaim their funds. Withdrawals will operate on a first-in, first-served basis because of the 51% attack, meaning users who withdraw later may not be able to do so. If you do not take action you will risk losing your funds. Please refer to our Help Centre article for more information on 51% attacks. We appreciate your understanding and patience during this time. How can you explain this? The coin leaves the market?

It is unfortunate that Cryptopia is removing us from the exchange and forcing our users to loose their coins. We made a proposal to them severla weeks ago to update the software to reimburse them for their losses and they agreed to this. And now without warning or telling us, they remove the coin. We are sorry that is not our decision. We will be providing an updated version after the first of the year that solves all the problems.
The one problem with their plan, is that right now our difficulty is so high and hash power is so low, the blockchain is not moving at all. So everyone trying to move their coins out of the exchange will not be able to, unless someone turns some more mining power on the coins ASAP. We have the pool active and running if people want to turn on to help out with the blockchain and get coins out of the exchange. PLEASE feel free to submit help tickets to Cryptopia if your coins remain stuck there and do not get moved out. We cannot help that situation by ourselves.
Groin Coin is not dead. We have had several personal situations that took us away and several programmers that have abandoned us. Right now V1.2 is a nice solid version to use as a base to move forward. Please watch this thread for more updates.

OK, just a follow up - no coins are going anywhere unless some of you help generate some hash on the blockchain.

I have just had an exchange and confirmation from Cryptopia that they have no intentions of delisting GXG. Their reason for returning GXG coins is due to their desire to not hold your coins any longer and create a clean slate after the 51% attack. At this time, we have some code in place that should fix the problem, upgrade the software and get GXG moving again. We were in the middle of a transition to a hybrid coin when this happpened. So for now, we will just be upgrading the coin to current technology that will include a lot of the needed security patching needed to make GXG a solid and secure coin for adult commerce. We anticipate to role out this new code in mid to late January 2019. Once we are trading again, then we will move to complete the GXG 2.0 project. For now, our blockchain is stalled with a very high difficulty and very low hashrate. Anyone that can help with some hash would be greatly appreciated.

It can be used for anything you like honestly once the blockchain is moving again.

For starters, be very wary of exchanges who spam alt coins like ours for business and do NOT even have our coin listed. Second, due to the hack on Cryptopia with their withdrawal request of our users, they had more withdrawal requests than they had coins, plain and simple - it was first come first served, by their rules not ours.
We told them we had new code coming in late January to replace all the coins they lost - but they did not want to hold peoples coins which is understandable. However, whoever requested coins first, got their coins, once they were gone, there was nothing left. Sorry, there is nothing we can do or could have done to prevent this from happening.
Moving forward, they have agreed to keep us on the exchange and our blockchain is moving, but very slowly. It is important to keep it going to move any transactions and coins that were withdrawn to where they need to go. We are currently making new plans for code changes to prevent this type of hack from happening again and then move GXG to a more current technology type of coin. We are hoping to have a new code release in late January at best and will keep you updated as to what is going on with the coin.

We are pleased to report that we are coding GXG V1.3 right now and hope to release it in the next week. This will be a hard fork that solves the problem at Cryptopia and restores GXG to a fully functional and technologically current coin. It will still be PoW X11 for the time being once done. This is all we feel we can do at this time to satisfy the timing requirements to get a solid coin back online and remain listed at Cryptopia.
After this work is done and we have passed the hard fork, we will move the coin towards masternode technology, where we have always wanted to take it. But this work will take some time and will not be launched until late 1st Quarter 2019. But the bottom line is that the GXG team is working hard to restore the coin to what everyone and our loyal users always hoped it would be please watch this thread and out Twitter feed for more details as things progress.

With the Cryptopia hack, we cannot guarantee any of the coins were real. Keep in mind that over 50 million GXG were bought and sold in a short period of time, during the 51% attack. If they were left on Cryptopia in accounts and frozen, we can account for them and hopefully replace them. Once they are withdrawn onto the blockchain and the new code comes in to place, it is unpredictable what happens to them. If they were coins created by the hack, they are gone as they never existed. If they were real to start with, then it is likely they go where they were intended. Additionally, keep in mind, with the block chain moving VERY slowly now, it could take days or weeks for any coins to move anywhere especially when cryptopia requires a large number of confirms. Again, we can only replace coins in Cryptopia wallets, not anything floating on the blockchain that is part of the hack.

Please note that we do not endorse any of the pools other than or own or do any research on them. Most are pretty good - but you are working with them, not with us. That being said, the more the merrier and we are happy to have them onboard and hope they watch and get the new code when it comes out early next week!

We already have one, but have never used it. Right now, we use this thread, Twitter and the website for main announcements. Once we get the new release out and trading again on Cryptopia, we plan on expanding our social media outlets.
