I am quite sure as of now ethereum should be one of the main choice investors might be looking at. Going with the trend in crypto space if ethereum is not competitive enough developers will not want to tap on their platform and not XLM or EOS

I, myself is a big fan of Ethereum. Majority of my investments in ICOs, cloud mining and trading are in Ethereum. I also used ETH in paying for goods and services online.
The only two reasons are it is very fast in payment confirmation and very low transaction fee (sending fee) than Bitcoin and other coins.

I believe that btc is the number one investment option for both the old and the new comers of crypto, most people just only invest on btc while others want to diversify their portfolio and include other potential coin to balance their portfolio and definitely eth is one of them.
