Aaaaand it seems my #3 M10-31 that came in today needed a few restarts before it came fully alive. Despite a nice warmup for an hour in front of the exhaust from its 2 other brothers, on the new miner board SM2 would not go above 368MHz whereas the other 2 boards hit around 500. Letting it run at least 10 min each time to see how it came up, after1 hard boot and 3 'restart CGminer's' all three boards came up and now report 469, 510 and 526Mhz for 31.7 THs. Seems that once you get the reported chip temps above 45-50C things will kick in properly. Hmm, like the ol' Spondoolies maybe a pre-heat with a heat gun/hair dryer would do the trick

sm0 does 9295 gh 63.5 temp 448 free sm1 does 11896 gh 75.0 temp 576 freq sm2 does 9158 gh 63.5 temp 437 freq
the one in bold was the one that did not want to fire up for a while

I initially ran into that as well with my 2nd one but like yours, after a good warmup all 3 boards came to life and have been doing just fine for over 5 days now. The autotune does set different speeds as needed for the boards and interestingly, the board that initially did not show up runs at a lower speed than the other 2 boards do: Hmm, just looked and checking the 2, my 1st one all three boards are centered around 500MHz +/- 4, number-2 oth are all over the map! 499, 468 and 562MHz... Definitely some variation in chips there... Still, considering it holds a steady 31.6THs - werks fer me! I wonder if this variance was their need to sell a different model to begin with with the 31T version.

I just received my 31T unit today which I ordered last Friday, so very quick shipment. I live in Canada.
FYI, my total customs+duties on the unit (with the USD51 discount code) came up to CAD68. So all in all, very positive experience so far. I'll post an update once the unit has run for a few hours on wintery Canadian sunshine electricity.
Thanks to everyone here for tips and advice!

This unit seems to have an issue with one board.
It simply does not fire up. It did work for three days and I switch pools.
Now it does not want to fire up.
I am going to contact pangolin to see about support.

That sucks. I'm interested to see how they respond, seeing as your issue is actually something failing, I imagine it will be rather quick. I never did hear back when I was trying to troubleshoot the lame board, but it may have been low to no priority as it was in spec. Reading through Pangolin's support info, you may get away with only having to ship back the hashboard, but they might not have updated the information lately. Definitely better than sending the whole unit in for repair. FYI, my total customs+duties on the unit (with the USD51 discount code) came up to CAD68. So all in all, very positive experience so far. Nice one of those low tax provinces, I get hit pretty hard on everything I bring in. Enjoy, so far my 2 have been pumping the heat nicely to fight the ridiculous cold.

Sorry to hear philip, not a lot of reports on whatsminers failing. I suppose the only caveat would be it's with someone who will keep us updated.
Pricing on the fan seems pretty high unless shipping is cheap. The I/O board as well. I'd look at other fan myself but I hate having to figure out cable length.
I'm sure you can handle everything but if you want some help philip let me know.

it is 2 fans not one so it is not that crazy high price. but not cheap either. I am waiting on info on the hash board replacement.

When you open it up to pull the hash board, please take pics of how the PSU is connected to them. Curious to know if they use bus bars from the PSU and BM-style clips on the boards or something better like actual screw-down connections to the boards.

Yeah, it’s been ludicrous cold here in Alberta this past month too. Each miner is displacing about 3.5GJ of natural gas per month while keeping the house and garage warm. Still a bit of a work in progress to keep them quiet, but I’m getting there So far, after one day, my 31T averaged 31.5TH. Looks like I got a decent one.

I just turned it off for 30 minutes. I will power it up now to see it that dead board fires up.

Phil did the hard reset help?
No on second screen shot you can see it has done 1331 attempts to fire the dead board up. So it is most likely a board issue. It also has the issue on low power. here are the good six at clifton as you can see one is a bit under at 24th the rest are good
