this is happening to me and i have a few in the red as well. Does this mean its time to clean the chips and install new thermal compound paste?

This is firmware problems, and chip qualities -> you can use firmware 0930 oc mode to fixed this and If you have enough fund to spend in thermal compound you can change it , because the old thermal compound isn't good enough . It will improved stabilities to mining
what should i oc it to?  any particular compound to use? I have some cheap stuff and not sure that it would be any better. Any idea on how and how long to recompound?

Can someone tell me which files you upload in the miner interface and which files do you put on the usb drive? Are these 2 different files? My miner has 20180926 showing on the upload page on the miner. Can't get the miner to hash!!

On the usb you have everything, you have a part to boot your miner and also you have the firmware on it.
In my case I was not able to boot, so I had follow the procedure to make a new usb key. So I bought a new 16 Gig usb key. And I did what you have at this link:  https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1Y1YXEgEnIFVnmzmD7PaTAMrVEDikTrfR ( the new image at this link put a static ip adress that is 192.168.1.100)
I got the new firmware loaded and the miner shows it's online but all of the asic chips are showing black and it is hashing at 0 gh/s. How do I get this miner to start hashing?

Did you allready succed to mine with your Zig Z1 in the past?
If not, it's probable your pool information that is not good.

That depends on your dexterity, of course, but it took me approximately 30 minutes to disassemble an RR210 and repaste all the boards.

What is the correct pool info for this F******* miner? I have had mine for over a month and it has not hashed for 2 minutes.

You can choose whatever pool you want. Maybe you should've done some research before buying it, if you don't understand what you're doing that's not the manufacturer's fault.

Go choose any coin that's lyra2rev2 compatible, and find pools that support that coin. Or, point it to Nicehash and sell the hashrate directly. It's your choice...

Then elaborate on your original statement - why hasn't your miner hashed for the last two months? What do you mean "the correct pool" ? There is no one answer to that question, so we need some more information about what you're looking for.

I'm not sure where you came up with "last two months"......I said" I have had mine for over a month and it has not hashed for 2 minutes"...but what ever....some people say you need #xsnub at the end of the pool address and some say to put "x" in for a password and some say to put "c=BTC,d=512"....I just wanted to know which it is!!!

That depends on the pool you're using, not all pools support those features. They will usually have this information on the "getting started" pages.

A company must be crazy to invest money in this algorithm....  But the craziest one is one who spent money to buy it... lol

Turn it off? Don't be crazy! If we can stay at current profitability my Z1+ will pay for itself in only...

(warms up Excel)

...1293 days. Wait, oh crap!  Undecided

Probably - they've been shipping 14nm scrypt miners since August so there's no reason to doubt their lyra2rev2 chips are also 14nm - zigminer is running two fab gens behind so they can't get the same type of density
