in my opinion big profits also have a big risk. and short-term trading has a greater risk so I don't do it. Most of the time I go for long term investment. And for long term investment I do a lot of research to pick a coin. I think that decrease the risk for me. Cause I don't go for profit or some. But for short term trade you have to take risk. And atleast I don't have the time for a short term to read whitepaper or something. For short term I believe on news that's it. And to decrease risk factor you have to always on with your laptop or mobile. I normally use mobile. And always book your profit from 10% don't wait too long for some more profit. Well what I do in my day trading is that I always trade using coins with high activities so that you could evaluate (predict) how the market would go. Then I don't buy when there is a sudden high because you would caught on a dump if you do that, so I would determine first if its already in a point where the price hits rock bottom where the price would go ups and downs in a certain value then it's up to you're decision if you will place the order or not (sounds tricky but all trades have risks).

You are doing things in the right way most of the members of the forum only see the profits they can get with icos and they seem to forget the huge risks they need to face, in my opinion even the the possibility that a coin in which you invest can eventually skyrocket does not nullify the risks, the risk of investing in icos is still higher than the profits it can give me and I do not invest in them because of that.

The best way to reduce risks in cryptocurrencies is to buy coins from the top 20. Also, do not buy only one coin, it is better to choose 5 coins and more.

Personally i'm not depend on one coin or few coins. And also we shouldn't invest our all investment to one or few coins even if they have lot of opportunities. in my opinion we should select at least more than 5 coins. Personally I don't like short term trading.

Risk is not easy to manage but you can manage it with some ways.
I usually reduce my risk by diversify my investment portfolio. If you only buy 1 coin to hold, you can gain much loss if it crash.
Trading short term is not my expert, i often to buy and hold the potential coins in the market.
